Well for those who don't know, Virginia Tech lost to Boston College last night 14-10. BC scored two touchdowns in the final 3 minutes after doing absolutely nothing for the entire rest of the game. I was there for the game. I got into town around 2PM (game started at 7:45) and proceeded to acquire some provisions and beverages. I spent the next 4+ hours eating and drinking in the rain (sometimes pouring, sometimes sprinkling). By the time we kicked off, I was soaked despite my poncho, long underwear, jacket, etc. And I didn't care. I yelled my lungs out for 59 minutes and 49 seconds right up until the point where BC scored the go ahead TD (w/ 11 seconds remaining). The game ended after 11 and it was 2AM when I got home and got in bed. A couple hours later I got up and threw up not b/c I'd had too much to drink (I stopped drinking around half-time) but I think just the physical and emotional events of the day had taken their toll on my body. Today I got up (it was almost 2) and my shoulders, knees, back, pretty much my whole body, is sore. I feel like I played in the game. I can't talk above a whisper and the sad, sad thing is if we'd won, none of it would matter at all. I've been to a lot of VT games. I've seen us lose big, win big, lose close, win close. I've watched us pull out huge wins and seen us suffer hard losses. Last night falls into the latter category. I know how Dennis Green felt last year after the Cardinals let the Bears come back and beat them. We had them on the hook and we let them get away. But the great thing about being a football fan is that there's always another game.

You guys remind me of how Michigan would own ND in every aspect of the game except for the score. I felt bad for you guys because you did have that game in the bag.

We did. We made Matt Ryan look silly for like 98% of the game. But you gotta play the whole 60 minutes and we let up. I think our defense just got tired. They looked a step slow on the last two drives.
