View Full Version : Is this a regional thing?

How many of you have heard of Marion Raven?
If so, where do you reside? (Not your address, just East Coast of the States would suffice, for instance)

I have . . . but only accidentally. One of her songs has the same name as a Ted Nugent song; "Heads Will Roll".
And I live about 20 minutes from you.

I've heard of her, but I can't name any of her songs.
Midwest USA.
/Edit: Just realized where I knew her from; she did a duet with Meatloaf on a cover of Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back to me Now". Good stuff.

I bet that wasn't an accident. ;)

If the implication there is that Ted Nugent is the greatest musical individual to never be in Led Zeppelin, then yes.

I hadn't heard of her down here in South Florida, but since the FM radio dial is mainly controlled now by conglomerates with no sense of music, we rarely get to hear that many new songs. It would be better if I lived closer to the Univ. of Miami and could pick them up on radio since I'm sure if anyone plays her down here it will be them.
I opened up her website and I'll give a listen to her.

Cool, thanks, Velvet. Upstate NY's radio is sugarcoated mass market too.

Dude, you're getting a Ted Pog tomorrow. Just have your Ted Knight handy as a reference when fielding him.

Oh yeah, I know/love that song.
I first heard of her back when she and Marit were M2M. I listened to their first album a lot and bought their second album. I've heard her solo work, but I don't care for it much. She seems to have lost something without Marit.
and I live in Oklahoma, United States, but I think you already knew that.

Haven't heard of her up in New England, but that could just be me, rather than a regional thing. I'd bet there are a lot of bands/artists out there I haven't heard of.

Found it. It was $35 and I got lucky.
Good stuff.
Now to find her previous albums which weren't released Stateside.

Unfortunately yes, she is like a more vacant Avril, which really says something. She is Canadian so she gets a lot of play here.
