Has anyone seen this or looked up to try to find it...here in the North Eastern US we have been having a lot of cloud cover and i haven't had a chance to. They say that it is brighter then the stars in the Big Dipper so that should make it a bit easier to find. I'm still hoping for a clear night to look with me scope.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to check that out over the next few nights to see if I can spot it.

You can see it without a telescope, it appears as a very dull star. From here (Quebec), I look straight up into the north-northeast sky at 10pm and I can see it even with the light pollution from town. It has died down in intensity in the last few days though. It forms the left base of a triangle with two other stars (I'd have to ask my girlfriend for the name of those stars)
It's pretty cool to see, but you have to know where to look. Or have a girlfriend who is in the local astronomy club.
Getting bigger apparently, I still haven't really had a chance to look for it. Have to drive out to my moms in the country and take a gander i suppose.

I agree. If news like this were on the nightly news, I'd start watching. Here's a commentary from msnbc.com.
