This is a real song????
I was laughing my butt off when I heard it on family guy. Its even funnier here.
Thank you for making me feel old :p
My first thought when I read your post was, "How young is this kid?" So I popped over to your profile and thought, "He's in his twenties. How does he not know this song?" Which I then followed with, "Hold it, he was born while I was in high school, about the time the song came out..." Which, of course, led to the, "Man, this kind of thing makes me feel old:ermm: ."
Yes, it's a real song. The B-52's have a lot of rather off-kilter songs

If Family Guy makes fun of it, it must be real, junior. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oM5IiEmN78)

Good old B-52s. Are they considered a 1-hit wonder?

It's real all right. You'd think the original poster was living in his own Private Idaho ;)

They had a whole mess of college rock hits throughout the '80s and '90s. Along with R.E.M., they established the Athens, Georgia, scene. That same scene is now best known for the bands of the Elephant 6 collective (Elf Power, Neutral Milk Hotel, Of Montreal). Kate Pierson (lead female vocals for the B-52s) pops up in all kinds of places, including opposite Michael Stipe in the odious "Shiny Happy People" and in her outstanding duet with Iggy Pop, "Candy." Alright, I'm 24 and I've known about the B-52s for most of my life. It's not an age thing. It's a sheltered thing. If you don't at least know Love Shack then you should be ashamed. :p

The B-52s have their first new CD coming out in 16 years in Feb.
Have you ever heard Fred Schneider's solo stuff? Thats some screwy stuff right there.
