View Full Version : Classic Rock Mafia

Hey, everybody's doing it!
With more than a little bit of advice from JoH, I have prepared a list of roles for a Classic Rock based Mafia game. Starting in the late 1960's this game will take our Acts through most of the 1970's on their way to Cleveland and the Rock & Roll hall of fame....if they survive that long.
While there should be a few twists and turns in this game, I hope that it is also less complicated than some. That way, newer players should feel comfortable. I plan on starting this game after the Guitar Gods game is done and at least a week from now. I have 23 roles currently but it is easily scalable up or down.
So, anyone interested in playing the part or Rock & Roll legends?

So we're talking like Stones, Styx, Beatles, etc?
If so, count me in!

One of those three is not like the others...one of those three just isn't the same. :)
I do like Styx though. ;)

You can't just send someone the White Album I've found. They either know or they don't. It's really sad. ;)

My dad said that's the one, with Abbey road to listen to. I'm open to listening to Beatles if forced, but I'd rather spend money on albums I want, adn receive albums that are in the style I like, but don't know much about. Like Sigur Ros or Mum or something.

It's all good. Everyone has different tastes in music. I would like to think that everyone would have a religious experience after listening to Zepplin 1-4 all in a row but I know that's not true.
Abbey Road is pretty freakin' great though.

My bro's girlfriend has my copy of LZ 1-4 on one CD. I don't think I'm ever getting that or my Mega-Hendrix back from her.
And another one of my bro's friend's has my copy of Jeff Beck Wired...

Why don't you just ask for them back, minter?

I've asked for "Wired" back several times, but the dude's several hours away from both me and my bro. I'm gonna ask for the Mega Hendrix and Zeppelin next time I'm up visiting my brother.

Okay, last time I pushed hard to get one of these going because I thought it would be awesome...people set right out to kill me. :tired:
Ah well, wouldn't be true to my love of the genre and what I told people about supporting ideas (how was it darn near no one voted for "Music Legends Mafia" when I first opened my Mafia Possibilities thread?) if I didn't sign up for this. :)

I'm a bit surprised by the lack of interest in this game. I get people not being big classic rock fans, but it's not like you need a lot of music knowledge to play.
The real question is, do you like to play mafia games. If you do, then you'll like this game. I know I liked DBZ and I know next to nothing about DBZ. :)

You know what I just realized, Pash? If you aren't into the classic rock genre then there's always roles from the Mafia. :devious:

Excerpt from a PM to Pashmina from da-Craig-O
Subject: Classic Rock Mafia Role
You are Pashmina. You hate classic rock artists. You find them to be boring and their music to be lacking life and experimentation. You are a serial killer, and win when all classic rock artists are destroyed.
You must also post in PashBFese.

Why even post that? I'd be more than mildly embarrassed that I took the time out of my day to post a bash on someone's game. How would you have felt if people had hopped onto your Avengers' sign-up purely so they could mock it?

Neurotic compulsion. Sorta like a nervous twitch. Instead of ticking, though, whenever he sees the phrase "Classic Rock," he instead posts something to the effect of "Hisssssss, it Buurrrrrns usssssss!" With training and rehabilitation, he'll be less vocal about it.
My fee is $4000 dollars for a year of rehabilitation for him. Final offer.
