View Full Version : Disney 2 - Anarchy at the Animal Kingdom Game!
Before we begin, let's recap the rules (paraphrased from Peers' many wonderful games):
Things to remember:
1) A full writeup of the rules can be found here (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page) This game will be more complicated than what's described there, as nearly everyone has some sort of 'special thing' about them. Doesn't mean everyone has a night power, but you never know...
2) When you vote, please do so by saying Vote: [Player] in bold. If you wish to change your vote, please say Change Vote: [Player] instead. Voting for 'Nobody' is a valid vote; if a majority votes for 'nobody' then nobody will be lynched and we'll move on to the Night phase.
3) If your role says you -may- PM me a target, you don't have to do anything at night. Even so, it'll speed things along quite a bit if you'd still just send me a PM saying "Not using my [whatever] power tonight, thanks."
4) If your role says you -must- PM me a target, and you do not? I'll pick one randomly. Or, perhaps, not-so-randomly. Don't blame me if you target someone who kills you.
5) You may NOT send a PM to anyone about this game unless your role explicitly says you can. This is cheating.
6) Do NOT edit your posts in this thread. This is cheating.
7) Please do not copy-and-paste anything from any PM I send you to the thread. This is also cheating.
8) Please do not post in this thread after you are killed. This, too, is cheating and can ruin the game if done wrong.
9) Cheaters don't get to play in any other Mafia games I run. Period.
10) Remember, it's just a game. You will get paranoid, you will be stabbed in the back by someone, you will see somebody do or say something stupid and want to smack them. Just breathe deep and relax. If things get out of hand, we do have a mod playing who will forcibly remind you to chill out if needed. It hasn't happened yet, and I'd like to keep it that way.

READ THIS NOW!!!!
A) There is an added classification to all players - you are either an Animal or a Human. Read your power VERY CAREFULLY! Some powers are Animal specific, some are Human specific. Some will produce very different outcomes if you choose one over the other. If your power is for Humans only and you target an Animal (and vice versa), you will lose your power for the phase.
B) It is very important that you DO NOT DISCUSS THIS THREAD WITH ANYONE ONCE YOU ARE DEAD! Dead is not always dead in the Animal Kingdom.

Let's Start the Game!!!
The sun set over the Animal Kingdom. The kingdom was restless because of the events at the castle nearby. Animals were quiet as they nestled down in their respected areas. Mufasa stepped out onto Pride Rock. He surveyed the land and gave a loud roar. His son had not come home from the Magic Kingdom.
He finally realized that Simba would never return.
As he stared at the land in the twilight of night, he noticed figures in the distance. Man? He sniffed in the air as the figures were upwind. Unfamiliar Man.
Mufasa stood over Pride Rock and gave another bellowing roar. He needed his subjects to come so they could figure out a plan to defend their kingdom. These could be the same Men responsible for what happened to his son. Death was part of the circle of life, but not murder.
“Going somewhere?” a shadowy voice growled behind Mufasa.
Mufasa turned around and saw the owner of the voice. His eyes narrowed.
“I am calling everyone together. We need to protect ourselves. What are you doing here?”
“Making sure that you are protected, your majesty.” The shadowy voice moved closer to Mufasa, “We can’t have our king in any danger.”
Mufasa looked over the land, “No, my life is not worth more than the animals I look over. If something should happen to me…”
Mufasa was suddenly shoved off the side of Pride Rock. His claws quickly gripped the side of the rock, pebbles falling to the ground below. Mufasa looked at the jagged rocks below.
“If something should happen…” the voice looked down on Mufasa, “Tsk tsk, you should be more careful.”
“Please, help me…” Mufasa looked pleadingly into the voice’s eyes.
“Now why would I do a thing like that…” the voice’s claws came down on Mufasa’s paws. Mufasa lost his grip on the rock and tumbled down to the jagged rocks below.
“Long live the king,” the voice sneered and retreated from the ledge. Phase one was now complete. He sniffed the air and caught an unfamiliar scent.
“Man?” the voice’s eyes narrowed.
“Looks like we have more work to do, don’t we?” the voice looked over to his loyal henchmen.
One of them began giggling.

A pair of eyes watched the entire thing take place. Well, he saw the lion standing on the rock, turn around and then get pushed off. He hated when they just stood there. He wanted a chase. He heard voiced coming from the other side so he ducked into the bushes. The animals were beginning to wake up once they had heard the roar. Animals from all over gathered at the site of the body.
He cocked his gun and smiled. Hunting season was now open.

Elsewhere, a woman put down her binoculars. “Pity, that lion would have made a nice rug.”
She turned to her group.
“You know what to do boys. Make me fabulous!”

MSU is dead. He was Mufasa, leader of the animals in the Animal Kingdom.

...aaaand now I feel like a jerk.
Funny story, though: Jeremy Irons used to visit the zoo everyday in preparation for voicing Scar in The Lion King. Every day he visited the monkeys and as a result, they grew to love him. Unfortunately, monkey love is full of poo. The worst part, apparently, was that the steel mesh of the cage made the monkey poo scatter and cover him like a gentle April shower.

Okay, so something we should establish now, because it seems clear.
Animal does not necessarily equal good. That might mean human does not necessarily equal bad/mafia (such as Tarzan, maybe). I'm willing to bet some trackers can find out if a person is an animal or a human, too. So we gotta be careful, I think, of making snap judgments based on Animal/Human status. (But I'll bet most humans are gonna be people we don't want around)

I agree. There are some bad animals (Scar) and good animals (Mufasa), along with bad humans (Cruella) and good humans (Tarzan being a good example).

A MAJORITY HAS BEEN REACHED!
The mob looked around and had no suspects. No one offered any useful information. Instead, things should look clearer in the morning. A fresh start...
Some members went to bed while others had plans for the evening.
Unfortunately for some of the animals and humans, not all would see the light of day.
Day 1 has ended without a lynch.
Night 1 begins! It ends in 24 hours so get me those PMs!
Night 1
King Louie swung from the trees. He landed on the ground and looked to the tops. He knew man was around here somewhere. Maybe they could teach him the secrets of fire?
He looked towards a tree and noticed a bunch of banana’s on the ground.
“How strange?” Louie said to himself, “Why that’s just plain peculiar!”
He went over to the bananas and picked one up.
“Gotcha!”
King Louie looked up to see a cage fall on him. He rattled the cages and called out, “No fair man, I didn’t even know there a chase going on!”
“You’ll do nicely!” a man in a top hat clapped his hands in glee and walked around the cage “Yes, you’ll do nicely! Welcome to the show!”

A female hyena walked quickly through the jungle. Scar needed backup and this person was the best person to see.
She saw her target. The orange tiger roared at a fat warthog and the warthog ran off screaming into the jungle. Pity, the hyena though, the warthog would have made a great sandwich.
“You know who’s in charge now?” the female hyena called over to the orange tiger.
“I know who thinks he is in charge,” the orange tiger smiled at the hyena, “And yet he sends his minions to do his bidding. Why can’t the great and powerful Scar show up himself? Ah yes, it’s because he’s afraid of me.”
“Shere-Kahn,” the female hyena bared her teeth, “Scar is not afraid of anyone.”
“Of course,” Shere-Kahn walked by the hyena, “Isn’t this where you laugh uncontrollably at something?”
The hyena narrowed her eyes.
“My answer is no, hyena minion. Run along and scavenge like your bottom dwellers seem to do. I have other important matters at hand. Scar is waging war against the kingdom, but I am concerned about Man only.”
The hyena bared her teeth and jumped on Shere-Kahn. The orange tiger roared as teeth and claws sunk into his skin. The two rolled around.
The female hyena finally stood up and spit blood out her mouth.
“Who’s laughing now?” she giggled as she walked past the body of Shere-Kahn.

A hunter with a pony tail brought out his musket. He had his orders and knew where his target lay. He brought out his mirror and checked his teeth and hair.
“You are a handsome devil, aren’t you?” he said to the mirror.
“You idiot, you are heading the wrong way!”
The hunter looked up. That was his boss’s voice!”
“Where are you? I can’t see you.”
“Change of plans, pretty boy. I want some hyena skin pumps!”
“Hyena?” the hunter scratched his head, “Ok, you’re the boss,” he frowned as he looked around. Where was the voice coming from?
He reversed path and finally caught up with a hyena with blood dripping from it’s mouth.
“One pair of shoes coming up,” he lined up the shot when suddenly he felt a tap on the shoulder.
The hunter turned around and saw a giant grey bear behind him. The bear smiled.
“Now, why would you want to go around and shoot an animal?”
The bear grabbed the gun and broke it in half.
“Now, isn’t that better?” the bear grinned.
The hunter ran blindly back into the woods, heading for his base camp. The hyena shoes would have to wait.

Scuttle looked around and took to the air. He knew he could help out the heroes if he just kept his eyes open. After all, he had knowledge of so much from the human world. Everyone relied on his knowledge!
A shot rang out and Scuttle felt a pain in his chest. He stopped flapping and spiraled to the ground. He saw a human with an orange hunting cap looking down at him.
“Not a prize but it will do,” was the last thing Scuttle heard as the human placed him in a canvass bag.

I not convinced Shere Kahn was the serial killer. It does not specifically say neutral, but it does say independent. And it does not mention heroes like the other two do. But it says he wanted to keep man out of the forest, nothing about killing everyone. However, Shere Kahn character-wise was very against man in general. So I don't know.

I'm thinking that's not necessarily the Dumbo ringmaster. That could be the Mad Hatter. It's written to sound kind of, well, nutty. And he's the person that I think of first when it comes to Disney characters in top hats. Could we have four groups? Good guys, bad guy animals, bad guy humans, and Wonderland?
Given the theme, I'd say the ringmaster is much more likely. Hatter would be out of place.

It varies from game to game. Some allow misdirectors to choose who they misdirect to; in other games, it's random.
I don't know what Iago's agenda is, but I think it'd be foolish of them to point to a townie. Once the townie is lynched, they become the next best lynch candidate. However, it does make sense for them to point to a member of a competing mafia--they take out the competition and can pass themselves off as a good townie.

Hey, I'm just going on what we've seen in the write-ups. The princesses wreaked unholy hell on MSU's last mafia because it wasn't immediately obvious who might or might not be one (I've got a three-year-old niece and it seems like, for merchandising purposes anyway, Disney princesses multiply like roaches). When we see a March Hare or a Dormouse or a Walrus turn up, y'all will know I'm right (heck, there's a chance that Ross.../Magoogles isn't even Pumbaa as Antipathy said, but rather, is the Duchess's Baby - Baby was a pig/warthog, too).
Yeah, but the guy said "welcome to the show". For a ringmaster, that fits. Why would the mad hatter say that?

That's what I'm kind of hanging up on. Maybe "Welcome to the tea party!" would have been too much of a dead giveaway to reveal in a write-up. But the rest of the dialogue is totally consistent with the Hatter's shtick. It's been so long since I saw Dumbo, I had to Google it to see whether or not there even was a ringmaster character (turns out there were some pretty major plot elements that I was actually confusing with Pinocchio).

Mainly, it was the repetition of "You'll do nicely!" and the fact that he was wearing a hat. Once I started reading it in the Hatter voice, it kind of stuck. Could be the recovering English major in me reading too much into the text, but it's hard to avoid speculation when that's all we've got to go on.

Yeah, but how do we ID him? I don't exactly think the misdirector/role-blocker is going reveal himself on day two - unless the doctor spends the rest of the game protecting him, that's practically asking for a speedy death.

Iago should. Misdirectors often screw the town over in the end (by misdirecting the wrong people so people get bad info). He will not be a mafia priority (or shouldn't be at least). IMO, that role-claim is worth us getting a mob member (gaston)
The role-blocker shouldn't role claim unless need be.

I was never particularly affected by Bambis mum dying. I remember it more than other scenes, but even so.
Little Mermaid was always my favourite, then Sleeping beauty, then the rest of the 90's cartoon movies I think. I also loved Mary Poppins, or "The Snap Lady" as I used to call her! :laugh:

They save the best parts of the episode for when everyone else is asleep and only show them to us. They take 'em out for the DVD, too, so don't bother trying to find 'em.

I saw a few episodes and only see ghosts and 2 boys crying for his dad or something. before watch that I will watch "Ghost Whisperer" with the original J-L. (Jennifer Love Hewit). people say what that series have more ghosts and for tell the true I understend the ghosts very well...
If I'm a ghost I will go to see her for 2 powerful reasons before to go to see the 2 not powerful brothers.

All right, I was hoping that Iago would come forward to tell us who Gaston is, but that looks increasingly unlikely, and it's getting late here on the East Coast. I also suspect that Iago is not a good animal and may well be a neutral independent.
I'll admit that I have some doubts about the wisdom of coming forward with information right now, but well, I don't want to see a day without a lynch. And, well, sometimes a townie has to take one for the team.
I am Baloo. I am not a roleblocker. I know the write-up can be interpreted that way, but trust me, there is another explanation for what happened and how I came by this information. I'd rather not say more about it now, but I can and will if it is necessary. (It may have to wait until Tuesday morning--it is late here in NYC.)
Any way, I do not actually know who Gaston is. However, I do know the identity of the hyena that he targeted--the one described in the write-up as having a "bloody" mouth, probably from killing Shere Khan. That hyena is KitsuShel.
