Greek/Roman Mythology Mafia Sign-ups!

[Antipathy]

I have played in all the mafia games hosted here except for one, but I've never run one. Thought it would be fun so I've decided to throw my hat into the ring. :)

This game will start around early/mid 2008, though I am flexible. While the roles need to be fully fleshed out, I have a general idea of what I'm going to do. It'll all be ready by the starting date.

I first was studying mythology back in elementary school. Granted, that was from a big book in our library, but still, if you take Latin in middle/high school, then you're guaranteed to learn at least some mythology.

I just liked the stories, and the morals behind them. Such as Narcissus and what not. Mythology is almost like a really big comic book world...

Actually, if my memory serves me, Venus is one of the only gods/goddesses that cannot trace her origin directly to the Titans, or her fellow gods (they were an incestuous bunch).

I believe she was produced out of the foam of the sea and first appeared out of a shell. Venus on the 1/2 shell-- turtle power (http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/11/lines_album/Birth_of_Venus.jpg)

Of course, I have always appreciated the beauty of Bouguereau's version of the painting, but would not want to take anything anway from the historical signifigance of Botticelli's work especially considering the subject matter he focused on in this period during a time where the Catholic Church and their iconography was the end all be all of life.
