jesus this PC #### is getting on my nerves. Santa is not calling woman ho's and if you think he is calling you a ho than maybe you should be offended at the fact that you a tool with no sense of humor. People need to learn to lighten the heck up. Life is to short to take offense at something like this. Maybe its the middle class white male in me, but people seem offended by the stupidest things.

I think we've reached the far end of the spectrum here. Fifty years ago it was acceptable to make fun of everyone and anyone, regardless of offense. That was wrong. Now we're so oversensitized to it that anything that might possibly be interpreted as offensive is censorsed. That's wrong, too.
We are a nation of extremes, unable to find a middle ground.

really? I thought we had the same problems with making fun of everyone and everyone that we do now. I thought it was just thought to be tactless and not done in public much. I dont think it was truly accepted by society.... of course I could be way off considering I am only 26:P

Well, beneath the surface it probably is just as bad as it ever was. It's just not allowed in public now, and certainly not in the media.
I remember, not long ago, a local TV station aired the Mr. Magoo cartoons from the 1950s, and they re-dubbed the voice of Mr. Magoo's Chinese houseboy Charlie to remove the stereotypical accent ("Missah Magloo, Missah Magloo!").

I did see that. As one who grew up watching the early years of Sesame Street, I have to wonder what it did to me.
Of course, our perception of what is and isn't appropriate for children has certainly changed in 40 years. The original Planet of the Apes was released around the same time that Sesame Street began, and in its original theatrical release it was rated G. I certainly wouldn't allow my 4-year-old to see it.

PC is getting worse and worse. So what the phrase we all associate with Santa is now to be taken out due to some women being #######. I personally think its a load of bull and that the problem is these girls can't read and see ho and hoe are spelt differently.
This is the first I have heard of this and think its simply getting stupid now, we need to have someone in power put thier foot down and say enough already. People are entitled to their culture, but for others to take away others culture is like saying we are of a lesser culture to thiers. We each respect the culture we have and to have it slowly picked at regardless of the culture is getting annoying. We should all be able to just say you have your culture and I have mine, if they cross then the shops and town centres can decide themselves which to show or to split it 50/50. Oh I don't care PC is driving me crazy, can you tell :confused:
