Assuming I'm not dealing with work or such at the time, maybe a couple minutes (but I'm usually mentally writing it as the PM's arrive).

I kinda write it throughout the night phase.

Serial killer sends me his target? I write that part.

Something funny or coincidental happens? I write that part.

Doctor saves somebody? I have to change the story I already have, but its no big thing.

I really like having a good story, too.

I think that both Player B and Player C should be killed. I wouldn't want to penalize somebody just because they weren't able to send their pm before someone else.

For me, all actions run somewhat simultaneously.

Aside from a few powers that obviously takes precedence (roleblocking, healing, protecting etc.) I solve all issues of priority with a simple dice roll.

Basically, in your example above where Character A targets Character B for a kill and Character B targets Character C for a kill, I'd roll a d6. On a roll of 1-3 Character A strikes first and kills Character B before he could kill C. On a roll of 4-6 B Kills C first, and is then himself killed by A.

For an example of this, in my Escape from Hell game, Kang targeted Dracula for a kill one night, but was himself killed by Mephisto (due to a misdirect from Mysterio) before he could strike.

I have most things occur at the same time.

Sometimes there are exceptions, but I usually let logic dictate it before speed of pms or die rolls.

Example: If Bizarro and Robin target each other for night kills and one of them (for whatever reason) has to survive the encounter and one of them has to die, I say Bizarro kills Robin because the alternative is just too silly.

my opinion? you have to do like the old Greek Mithology: when the haund who can't lost a rabit chase the rabit who can't be catched the Gods tranform both in constellations! (traslation: Both get without action, prety much like if the roleblocker actually roleblock the misdirector).

Thats a really good point. I didn't think of that.

Then again, that wouldn't be too bad. Using Melkhor's game as an example:

Turner D Century (roleblocker) goes to make Winter Soldier fall asleep.
Mysterio (misdirector) misdirects Turner onto himself.
Turner goes and makes Mysterio fall asleep...which is what he was going to do anyways.

Normally, I would just randomize their power and if they did it too many times I'd "randomize" them into a PGO...if such a role exists in my game. ;)

Last thread game I was in did that eneded up having the Vig target the serial killer and Vice versa. Everyone was happy with that. Bwahaha (well i suppose other then them.

On that note . Does anyone know if a Serial Killer has ever won a game or are they just a charcter who knows they will die and tries to take as many with them as possible?

I won't pretend my winning was all my skill.

I was night killed twice but was immune to night kill as long as two other players were in the game (I didn't know this, just that I was immune to night kill at the time).

I also had a mason teammate who was the cop.

I try to give a serial killer in my games an advantage. Maybe they are immune to night kill or investigation. Maybe they start out as a townie, so that they are less suspicious and won't be lynched early in the game.

A straight up serial killer is really hard to win with.

I personally would say randomize the target. That way the player not being here wouldn't greatly affect the game.
