Some people may say the Sox overpaid because of the awesome year he had in '07, but it's nice to see he turned down more money and more years to stay in a situation that was good for him. Obviously, Fenway is helpful to his stats, but Boston also has fans that appreciate someone who plays the game the right way. Having Lowell solidifying the infield for three years is going to do a lot to ease my mind. He plays solid defense, has proven to be a clutch performer, and is an excellent addition to the clubhouse. Plus he will help in the development of the young kids coming up.
Now if only we had been so smart when we had Cabrera in the fold.
