So, I'm looking for 12 players. We will play with the following:

And with 12 people, 2 closers a piece means almost every closer will have to be owned, and only around 10 are any good, so I figure if I add holds, for those people with sucky closers, which statisticly, SOMEONE must be stuck with, they will be able to get ahead with holds.

Just so I am straight, Roto is oldschool fantasy right, just pick some players and watch their points add up. I like head to head better, but if it is old school, I wouldn't mind a low maintenance league on the side.

Roto is where you compete against everyone for points. Whoever has the most HR out of 12 people get 12 points, whoever has the 8th most gets 8 points, etc. etc.

Bleh, fine. What problem do you have with Yahoo though? You're like one of the only people I know who dislike Yahoo. ESPN is much harder to navigate, and much glitchier.

It is certainly a lot more touchy, but the ESPN set up looks a lot nicer and the extras really do add a lot. I guess for me presentation makes a big difference.

IMO it all sepends upon what you are used to and what you prefer.

I'm a Yahoo all the way guy, we tried a ESPN league last year and it was just plain horrible (IMO) they of course had a few hiccups last year.

Yahoo does have the 'new' player change screens as well as the option to go 'classic'

I feel just the opposite. Yahoo is so slick, and easy to navigate. ESPN is ugly and clunky. I hate it.

Not only that, he lost Miggy!

Miggy used to get up to bat right after Hanley, meaning either

A)They worried about Miggy, allowing Hanley to steal

or

B)They worried about Hanley stealing, allowing Miggy to knock him in for a run.

Without Cabrera, the whole flow falls apart. I'd say he's a late 2nd early third round pick now. Personally, I'll take Miguel Cabrera, or David Wright, or even Holliday second, waaay before I take Hanley second. Cabrera will have 130 RBI's EASY this year in that killer line up. The Detroit line up, is IMO, the best in the history of the MLB. You can not pitch around a single player, literally. Sheff, Guillen, Cabrera, and Granderson are all HEAVY hitters, Polanco, Renteria, and Pudge are all consistant hitters. There will always bee someone on base for Cabrera to knock in, and someone hitting to knock him in.

And why do the Marlins ALWAYS trade away their future? They have a GREAT farm system, and they always give away what they make. Beckett, Carbrera, next they'll be trading Hanley and Uggla.

Stupid Marlins.

All around, I disagree with ESPN and Yahoo's rankings. Zambrano is ranked like 80, and Oswalt 85, but I'd love to get them 5th round. Ya know?

I didn't think about that, Doc. The loss of Cabera will definitely hurt Hanley's production...

I really don't agree with their ranking either. Bryan Braun at 14, Brandon Phillips at 21, Bedard being before Beckett, Joe Mauer at 62, Posada at 91, Tulowitzki at 42, and Verlander at 70 just to name a few. The fact that Andruw Jones is still in the top 100 after hitting .222 last year is ridiculous.

Zambrano is actually at 71, Doc.

I guess that just it is motivation to make sure I don't miss the live draft...

I picked up Granderson as a FA last year. Everyone told me it was a bad move. I showed them. Especially since I play with TB's. :)

Him+Sheff+Polanco= 3 players I all got as Free Agents, and won me the league,


And yes, when Sheff was batting like 220, with 10 RBIs, someone dropped him. And I picked him up :devious:

Wow. That's solid. Especially when you consider Pierre would probably be your weak spot in your offense. Not sold on your relief pitching, though. Izzy could go either way this year, and I'm thinking that Valverde might have been a fluke last year.

Remember, Keeper, so I tried to get lots of youth. I keep16 players at the end of the year. I know Jacque Jones and Andruw Jones seem like bad picks. But Jacque lifted his Avg 60 points in the last half of last year, AND he's on the Tigers, the best hitting line up in the MLB. And Andruw is in a much easier division, and doesn't have as much to worry about contract wise, not to mention he's fully healthy.

So what do you guys think?

Your starting rotation looks almost untouchable, but relief pitching looks shaky at best.

I'd worry at your BA, also. With Uggla, Andruw Jones, and Swisher in your everyday lineup, it could really miss with your batting average. Stolen bases might be an issue, too.

Well, Rios and Rollins will get me SB's, but its funny you said Sb's and Average are my weakness, I'm in the middle of a trade for Chone Figgins. That should fill that hole up. :) And it;s H2H so i basically decided t ogive up on Saves and focus on the other stats.

I don't know. We can vote I guess. Personally I don't see any reason for a deadline./ I never use them. If people cheat with trades, there's always vetoes. And Shgaun and Shel never cheat at anything. They're honest as anything.

I was looking at your rotation, Doc. It's pretty impressive. And by "impressive", I mean, "pissworthy." But then again, I would have never thought my worst position player of my starting lineup would be Matt Kemp...

My 2007 averages: .315 batting average, 22 home runs, 91 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases. Not to mention that I have three guys on my bench that hit 15+ homers and 60+ RBIs... Methinks I should purpose a trade to ya, Doc. ;)
