Super Smash Bros. Melee Discussion!

With Brawl coming out to stores in March (correct?), the good old Super Smash Bros. will be forgotten. Or will it? I won't because this is probably the best game for the Gamecube in my opinion. Let's have a discussion thread about this old game before Brawl comes out. Ready? Let's start.


Who do you use?

I use Falco, then Ganondorf, then Ness. I use mainly Falco though.


Why do you use the character?

Falco is fast and he has an amazing yet cheesy spike. His blaster is also great too because it stuns. Falco's big problem is his short range Firebird compared to Fox's Firefox.

Does anyone here know how to wavedash?

My brother can (kind of) and his friends can but I can rarely do it with Falco. And can do it on super-slow motion with Luigi but that's about it. Anyone know how?

Link, Kirby, Samus, and Mewtwo.

Why do you use the character?

Because I like Link's Bow, Sword Smash, and Up- Special. Kirby is just amazing, Samus does macho damage with her smashes and blast, and I like Mewtwo's jumping.

Because, I like speed. And the Ice Climbers are just funny.

It's a glitch that makes characters move all wonky. I guess it helps folks win or something.

Who do you use?

Dr. Mario and Yoshi


Why do you use the character?

I play a defensive game. Dr. Mario is slightly slower, but easyer to control, and stronger than Mario. The coat move can defend against range atttacks, I like attacking from the air with him, and if anyone gets too close, he has a great throw.

Yoshi is another fun air attacker. I run up against Link a lot of the time, who has very strong up attacks. Yoshi's down A is a good counter, because the stars do damage too.

Why?
Falco and Marth both are amazing, Jigglypuff is fun to use roll out to recover or hit someone from across the stage, and Pichu, yes I actually said Pichu, well its just awesome to see the look on someones face when the winners screen has a giant Pichu.
Wavedashing: For those who don't know what this is, it is when you do a very short jump and then airdodge back at the ground. What it does is that it allows you to do anything while moving. It is very hard to do with most charcters, and no I can't do it. :disappoin

Marth, Dr. Mario, Mario

Why?
Marth is a beast! He has some redonk Combos!
Dr. Mario is an all time favorite!
Mario, although i usually don't like the main stream characters I like Mario for his cape!

Yep, I've mastered it! I'd suggest practicing with Luigi first because it's easiest to do with him.

Couple days ago I was babysitting.

They only recently got a gamecube, and guess which game they also have?

The kid and I spent a good amout of time doing single stock battles with two dummy players to unlock everyone he didn't have. He only managed to beat me once, when I was using Jigglypuff. And thats only because I kept trying to nail him with the sleep move.
