Create Your Own Hero/Villain Mafia Sign-Ups

[Truffle Shuffle]

I know, I haven’t even run my first game yet and I’m already thinking about a second. Well, I was watching Unbreakable today and an idea came to me. A little bit of stretch from one to the other, but hey, the mind wanders.

How about a create your own hero/villain mafia. You send me a totally made up hero and villain and I will decide which I want to use. You must send me one of each. Here is what you will need to provide (and I will use Superman as an example):

Hero/Villain name: such as Superman
Up to two powers: such as x-ray vision or superhuman strength
Colors of your costume: red and blue for Superman
motto: Truth, justice and the American way (or all that stuff)
Weaknesses: such as kryptonite
Alias: such as Clark Kent
Alias job: such as news reporter

Have fun with it. It can be as wacky or serious as you want. This won’t start until LotR is done. Sometime in March/April I’m thinking. So take your time.

That's one of the best parts of this.

How many times has the Mafia been caught in a thematic game solely because "there's only one ghostbuster left so you must be Venkman". No amount of arguing, lying or manipulation (which is what Mafia is supposed to be all about) can counteract simple process of elimination.

That's can't happen here. It's a glorious thing.

The ability to roleclaim almost anything is why I love games like this and BYO games and the widespread generic ones(like 80's Movies or Disney).

Games using one strict theme(this arc from this series) make it harder for the mafia to roleclaim.

I started applying powers to characters. Once I have all the characters and assigned powers, I will start making up the teams.

I will give everyone another two weeks or so to get me characters, then I will start PMing.
