Admit it! You would love to turn it to ESPN or any other sports or pop culture related show or channel and see something besides the Super Bowl hype! Media Day is a joke and they shouldn't have two weeks between the last playoff game and the Super Bowl. I don't care what kind of underwear Tom Brady wears or if Plaxico is trying to be the next "Hammerin' Hank Goldberg"...let's just get on with the game! They make us sick of it before it even gets here...

Just think how bad it would have been if the Colts would have been playing the G-Men? I would hate the Mannings more than I already do!!!

This is your place to vent about the overhyped Super Bowl and the media's obssession with all things not important!

Agreed. I tend to pay absolutely no attention to the pre-Super Bowl (can we say that, or do we have to say "The Big Game" or some other non trademarked phrase) hype because by the time the game gets here, I'm totally burnt.

I disagree, somewhat. It's not about the game this year. I hate to say it, but it looks like the Pats are gonna dominate. (No, I am not a NE fan.)

It's about the commercials, the Superbowl party, and the halftime special. I'll keep the channel on FOX. I don't mind the uber-hype.

Yeah, I've been purposefully avoiding the hype with a passion. Though my folks and I will probably have a nice get together with it and watch the game itself...

And do you know how HARD it is to find the actual game start-time? Not the pregame, nor the pre-pregame, nor the pre-pre-pregame analysis of the pregame, the Kickoff? Eesh!

Not hard at all. I checked ESPN.com and I got that kick-off is at 6:18pm, EST, on FOX. There it is and there you have it.

This is what I get for having my father try to do it, I guess. :cheeky:

It's become an entertainment spectacle more than a game.

It's generally a good time but there is too much hoopla.

I agree that the hype is extremely overdone, but then again, when isn't it nowadays? I'm very excited for the game as I think it's going to be a well-fought battle, but I've stopped paying attention to all the "experts" because by now they're just rehashing everything they or somebody else said last week. There really isn't anything new to report unless somebody blows out a knee in practice.

I hate the ads and the long halftime. --Maybe the long halftime works better for the teams, but I hate the wait. Apart from seeing U2 in 2002, I can't say I enjoyed the halftime acts much either. And don't get me started on the "scandals" about wardrobe malfunctions and the like. They are so much screaming about nothing at all.

And the ads. &*%$#. Hate the ads. Hate 'em. Hate watching the game with people who act like you're missing something if you try and take a bathroom break while the ads are on. Like you're actually missing something.

In my day ads were something to be avoided. Something suffered through to watch what you wanted to watch. Sure they paid for the broadcast, but that didn't mean that you should stick around for them like they were actual entertainment. --All the watching and talking about the ads makes me feel like we're the dreaming pod people in The Matrix. It's the tail wagging the dog.

*whew* I feel better now. ;)

Yeah, and it doesn't help that the 4,000 year old Tom Petty is the halftime show this year! That wardrobe malfunction should trouble America far worse than Janet Jackson's nip slip from a few years ago!

After watching select bits of the pregame show, I feel a strong urge to play in traffic. :tired:

Kind of a dull game, save for the end, and the commercials weren't all that great this year.

Ho hum.

Yeah, the game has gotten way too hyped up these days. Usually coaches in the Super Bowl play so conservatively that the game is boring as all heck to watch. I think that the the finish of the game tonight was fantastic but the first three quarters were almost unbearable to watch.

Oh, well... only two more months until the baseball season starts.

WHy do you think this is? In the NBA and MLB they have series. In football there is one day. That's why I think it's over-hyped.
