DToC LB R2M7: Team Northstar Vs Team Green Goblin

Greetings for the losers bracket of the second round of the MW division of the Dream Team Tournament of champions! It's a double-elimination tournament with teams of supers selected by Another Realm posters. Before each match, the teams are given the names of their opponents and get five minutes to talk to each other, get to know each other and work out strategy, and have memory of prior matches together, although they'll otherwise be returned to their original condition.

Anyway, Norman and co in the Desert vs Pietro and co!

So, what can...well, anyone on Team Northstar...do to Vandal Savage? Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I can see Vandal taking this all on his own. He's certainly strong enough, ruthless enough, clever enough and his reflexes are good enough.

They could hit him until he falls unconscious? He has good reflexes and has occasionally tagged speedsters, but he's not immune to their retaliation and I don't think he's going to beat multiple at once or anything. Northstar's speed-ram attack methods I think would be especially good.

I think Purple Man and Toad are going to be dead weight in this fight. That leaves Norman & Savage to take out three speedsters. As tough as both of them are, I don't see it happening here.

This terrain is wide open,... it's perfect for blitzing.

I think Norman will take at least one speedster out, don't get me wrong.... his team isn't going out without inflicting a casualty,... but the other team will win it in the end.

The thing here is that this is rapidly going to boil down to Vandal and Goblin versus Northstar's entire team. On the other hand only Northstar can really do too much to Goblin, so if Norman takes that fight he'll probably take the whole thing.

If Flash can hurt Wonder Woman due to his speed enhanced strikes, would Northstar not be able to hurt Golblin due to the same? Or Jesse, as has been pointed out, has actual super strength, no? And Spitfire is the speedster from the Invaders, so shes got a great deal of experience. Eh, with Purple Man and possibly Toad (not going to write him off, as he is Fast) being KOed, without too much trouble, that leaves GG and Savage (who isnt nearly as formidable in POOF battles to me) against 3 capable speedsters, and that enough for me to vote for Team Speed to win here.

It's not the same. Flash can do stuff like that because he can manipulate things like momentum and inertia, that's why he's SHW and Northstar is just MW, the speedforce gives Flash a wealth of power options that other speedsters simply cannot duplicate. Furthermore Northstar is the only real threat to gobby because he's the only flyer, if he drops then Goblin can eventually bomb out the other two (probably).

Jesse doesn't matter, wrong match.

Ah, sorry about that. And true, Flash is a SHW, but so is Wonder Woman, who is much more durable than GG. Personally, Id say Northstar can hurt him.

so would I, but the question is can he beat him. Goblin has got superhuman reflex's and fight's Spider-man, he's not gonna be that easy a mark and Norman is also very smart.

True true, but as is pointed out, Purple Man and possibly Toad will probably fall fast here, leaving GG and Savage to take on 3 speedsters, all of which are very experienced and skilled in their use of powers. Thats just a bit more than I think they can handle.

And throw me in for team Northstar as well. If Northstar can even knock Norman off his glider/damage the glider, that'll be decisive. I can see team Goblin taking out a speedster, two if they're lucky, but all three? Not nearly often enough to count.

I think the fight is probably going down like this:

Toad & Purple man KO'ed nearly from the getgo. Gives Gobby time to get well airborne, and vandal either gets harrassed to no effect, or hides in a dune to set a trap of some kind.

Northstar blitzes goblin, not taking him out, but successfully knocking him off the glider.

then one of the other speedsters steals Norman's purse.
game over man.

once Northstar starts lobbing pumpkin bombs down on people, it gets MESSY.
