View Full Version : A request to Traders/Sellers

So I like to peruse the trading forums from time to time, seeing if I can find anything that catches my eyes. Unfortunately, most of the time, trade threads rapidly make my eyes hurt and I give up.
So my request is this: organize the list of things you have for trade in some coherent manner. Don't just have one long uninterrupted list of stuff with no rhyme or reason. Please.

1. Troll? I think you might mean "lurk", in that you just pop in, look around and generally don't say anything. A "troll", in Internet terms post nonsense and is generally offensive and tries to stir up trouble.
You do not seem like a "troll" to me.
2. I like the idea. I was recently toying with color coordinating, at least in terms of carboard I am looking for:
For example:
Bystanders
MMB001 Aunt May (tm)
MMB002 Ben Urich (tm)
MMB003 Flash Thompson (tm)
MMB006 Kong (tm)
leB001 Iris West-Allen (tm)
leB002 Ma Hunkle (tm)
leB007 Jimmy Olson (tm)

sb007 Sin-Eater (tm)
invB001 William Clockwell (tm)
oB003 Mister Tawky Tawny (tm)
Feats
MMF003 Haymaker
MMF004 Passenger
MMF005 Pounce
MMF006 Rip It Up
leF001 Armor Piercing
leF005 Large Object
leF006 Lazarus Pit
leF007 Stunning Blow
icF002 Slippery
awF003 Protected
cdF005 Movethrough
cdF006 Running Start
cdF007 Look up in the Sky!
sf001 PUMMEL
oF002 Disintegrate
oF006 Pounce
oF007 Repulsor
oF008 Compel
oF009 Entrench
oF010 Thwart
muF004 Monster Hunter
muF100 Warbound (tm)
muF101 Shockwave
muF102 Protected

leBF002 Deep Shadows
leBF004 Overconfidence
leBF006 Radiation Leak
Special Objects
cdS002 Kinetic Absorber
snS001 Meteorite
But I think the biggest problem is there is no standard for posting lists.
Some put wants first, others needs. Some sort by sets, others post high value figs seperately from the set lists, etc.
Ahh, if only there were a standard posting template for the trading threads. It would have to be organized, easy to read and skim over and get the pertinent information out.

You're right, I was using troll in either some obsolete non-internet usage or in some sense I just made up. I think a good substitute word there would be "peruse." I think I'll go edit that.
Edit: I went and looked up what I meant.
Troll (v)
2.
a. To wander about; ramble.
b. Slang To patrol an area in search for someone or something.
But you're right, in the context of an internet message board, troll has a completely different meaning. But at least I'm not crazy and making up words. :)

I don't get it either. It's really not that hard to organize your have/wants in a somewhat cohesive fashion.

A disorganized trade thread gets passed on by me. As do the one's wanting SR/Uniques and they are offering their leftover CURs. You can tell they are "brick droppings" by the way they are listed.

Are brick droppings related to Case Poop?

They are one in the same.
A piece reaches "poop" status when you and others have so many that you can't give them away and folks looks at you as if you tried to hand them a dried turd. a.k.a. "They ain't worth Shiznats."

When your trade thread doesnt get any hits in 2 months I would hope common sense would set in and people would change things up a bit...but nooooo. The notion of simplicity and gamers generally elude each other more ofter than not.

i also hate it when people want u's and sr's and only have a small list of C/U/R and REV that are complete carp figs. thats when i completely pass on that person and their trade thread.
