Well not quite, but they got a boost in this set and I believe will see a lot more action. Take a look at some martial artists:

The oldies:

Bronze Tiger - 60 points - everyone knows him
Karnak - 79 - everyone knows him too
Ronin - 55 - not sure if many know him but might start to learn
Echo - 38 - seem on many top level tourney teams
Shang Chi - 58 - can be brutal
Katana - 48/37 - 1 offers bats other offers outsiders
Timber Wolf - 60 - wildcard and FLIER

New Guys
Nightwing - 79 - beast/3 team abilities
Karate Kid - 63 - another FLYING wildcard
Robin

So we have a a bunch of wildcards, batman ally, suicide squad. So we can abuse wildcard abilities, especially now that we can use pogs suicide squad is on it's way back. Also 2 fliers available both wild cards and both can hold their own? I think this keyword is gonna see a lot of action. I'm sure I missed a bunch of good Martial Artists so feel free to toss them in. I tried to find a MA with TK but I can't locate one.

How's the range though? Martial Artists are mainly all close combat pieces or 6 range. A spy team could rip through them, same with Scientists.

I just don't think that Martial Artists have the necessary reach to deal with other teams.

Green Arrow would like to disagree. Both of them, in fact - Connor from JL and Oliver from Crisis are both solid ranged combatants.

The main problem so far for martial artists have been lack of mobility (only Timber Wolf and Fin Fang Foom flies in Restricted) and support powers (Owlman was just about it). However, both these areas get a tremendous upgrade thanks to Karate Kid, Nightwing and Robin.
Also, don't forget Batgirl.

Yea ben come on I got a 10 range running shot piece that's a free move. I'm not scared of spies either since I have enough stealth of my own to get there. Green arrow from the new set is too with 3 arrows son. And I know Ghost Widow is the comback to stealth, but ghost widow does nothing for me.

Just Green, not Red. Deathstroke is a Martial Artist though - wildcard, 8 range and starting Outwit are wonderful news for a Martial Artist team.

Here's a 400 point wildcard abuse Martial Artist team by the way:
Crisis Robin 79
JL Green Arrow 70
Karate Kid 63
Timber Wolf 60
Bronze Tiger 60
Shang-Chi 58
390 points of Batman Ally/Suicide Squad/JLA copying goodness.

I got a 300 point idea:

Nightwing 79
Protected 8
Karate Kid 63
Timber Wolf 60
Protected
Bronze Tiger 60
Protected 8
Lois Lane Pog X 2 10
Forbush Man Pog 4
= 300 pt floor. 2 Fliers, Stealth, suicide squad. I wanna tweak it some but it's something I thought of. Lois lane is gonna be a big part of floor.

Nightwing just begs for Streak of Luck.

This whole team begs for Warbound so I know I have to tweak it some. But yea with Nightwings +2 to defense pretty much either way it's a good way to go. I'm just not big on SOL. When I have used it it's never come into play.

I'd probably dump the pogs and Timber Wolf to make room for Green Arrow. IMO, every team needs at least one figure with a range of 8 or more.

Any martial artists team needs Timber Wolf and Karate Kid. Or, enough L/C to make them mobile. A whole bunch of ground pounders get tripped up too easily by a little elevated terrain and a complete lack of tempo.
