I want to play Spectre for Week 2, but is he viable enough in 300pts?

I was thinking...

Spectre 234 w/Shellhead (Would use Auto-Reg but its Restricted)
Crimson Avenger

297pts

Im going to use five Dawnstars, but that's just me :nervous:

I would drop Spectre and throw a Sinestro or sumthin'....

Sinestro was my second choice.

Spectre is absolutely viable in 300.

team him up with E Wildcat or U Sandman for a nice JSA build.

He is viable, yes. But he's also a good target, and alot of swarm teams will take the Spirit of Vengeance down easily :nervous:

For an all Crisis team I would prefer:

Sinestro 146
Red Arrow 73
Dawnstar 60

Left 21 points for few Feats for a great swarm team :nervous:

Don't overlook Dr. Midnite. Like Sandman, he can stealth block for you AND do some extra healing for you... AND leave some room for feats.

It's going to be tough to pick a floor team next week.

I forgot about E Dr. Midnight. I might lean towards a Spectre team just for fun.

No he can't...Spectre's a giant.

while the healing is nice, its a chance with his higher defense, so the good doctor might not be as useful, though the perplex sure could help.

however, the reroll from sandman will definately go a LONG way to protecting that 19 defense from a lot of people, while ensuring your hits have a better chance of hitting and saving you from having to TRY healing rolls.

but both he and the doctor are rather vulnerable considering the sheer usefulness of the kid flash that people are gonna be fielding. even the spectre's hugeness cant stop that.

im HIGHLY considering trying spectre and sandman in week 2, but just not sure if i wont want to do something with the outsiders.

45 points costly Kid Flash is truly the cheese and diamond of this set. He's perfect in every way, and will see alot game play during the Crisis Events. At least im going to field him.

So im agreeing totally with Phoenix ;)

Wouldn't one guy with invulnerability automatically beat you?

funny enough, 4 dawnstars and 4 armor peircings sounds really good... with 10 points to spare. pogs to hide behind! and dont forget the e-vine.

Too bad there's no legal Armor Piercings for Restricted play

If this thread is about using spectre, why are we takling about using other figs instead? Shouldn't we try to come up with creative team ideas? But I digress...

This is going to be tough:

The Spectre 234
+ Protected 8
+ Shelhead 10

(E) Dr. Mid-Nite 43
+ Lucky Break 5

Shellhead & Protected are musts for Spectre. For the first 4 clix, use JSA to protect Midnite and if Spetre gets hit, use Midnite's 16 defense to heal him back. Dont forget that Spetre can use Phasing on those first 4 clix as well so if you want to fallback, share the 16 and heal, you don't have to break away. Use Lucky Break if you see those dreaded snake eyes when trying to heal Spectre. Plus it is a Theme so you get the one Prob and cancel the battlefield of your choice.

Armor Wars is retired? I thought that was the oldest legal set.

I like! I'd put Flashbang on Mid-Nite instead, but it would be a fun team.
