As the title says, I have an idea for a game in mind, but was wondering how much time you give players to sign up...

Depends on the obscurity of topic and when you (or the players) feel most comfortable starting. For example, Battletech has been up for a few weeks and hasn't come close to filling up. The two Guitar Gods games went months before filling up. Others I've seen fill up in a day and start playing a week later.

I usually give it 4-6 weeks to fill. I get a pretty good turn out every game, but I need breaks in between to play a few and recharge my batteries. I get drained from modding too many back to back. Also, I find people are more willing to sign up far in advance rather than a week or two since if you plan far enough ahead, you've got no competition. :devious:

If it's a popular topic, you only need about a week. (Disney fills fast, as did Futurama)

Average I'd say at least 3 weeks

Obscure topics take even longer.

It also depends on how many people yer after. If you want 20-29, maybe a week and a half. 30+, it is going to take longer.
