View Full Version : What roles do you have a soft spot for?
In other words, what role or roles do you, even if it's against you, like to see winning the game? Or at least do well.
After being it a lot of the times, I'd have to say doctor. That's the role that can almost never claim else they die, but are always called on to perform well. Tons of risk, little reward. Every power role has a chance to claim because it means they have a chance at being protected. The Doctor never ever has that luxury.
And along those lines, Serial Killer. The one standing out against all odds. Nobody likes him and nobody wants him to win. If you're a serial killer and you win, congratulations cause the odds are always 1/X for you, where X is the number of players left.
I like Vanilla roles (probably a given)
Other than that, I like seeing people with vote hampering (requiring 1/3 majority vote) win, although I'm not sure that's happened yet.

I would love a bulletproof role. The closest I've ever had was a 33% chance of avoiding the kill.

That's funny, I was a PGO that killed a serial killer. Course I died too, but that's the way it goes.

Specialist roles, i LOVE them, seriously fun especially in the Fantastic 4 mafia game where i was Super Skrull, that was awesome, outed and night killed 2 of the mafia myself :p, same goes for Disney 4 sorta, managed to kill me some mafia with them powers, that of course is just my personal preferance, i'd love to be a vig but then again i'd have a hard time convincing people i was the vig and not the serial killer :noid:

The one where I dies was Suicide Squad. I was Brimstone and got killed by Blockbuster.
The one I won was 52. I was the Everyman.

As a townie, I prefer playing roles with information gathering abilities. It's always to see variations on that theme - reverse tracker, naive cop, etc. As a mafia, I like being the don, especially if you come up as "town" when investigated. I have never won as a don, mind you. I just like the idea of being the evil criminal mastermind. (However, I don't like roles that can win with either side.)

I love being a Serial Killer and seeing serial killers win.
I also love Inventors, since they just cause mayhem.
And finally, I like roles that have no powers and/or weird win conditions, a la Larry from Animafiacs.

I wasn't around to see what their power or win condition was, if they had one. But yeah, I was rooting for the gnomes too.
Each night, they could steal the underpants of one player. This would have no effect other then the player getting a PM saying "your underpants are missing".
They won when they had the underpants of every surviving player.

I won as a doctor in Disney 3 for a joke.
Pretending to be a tracker for the biggest joke ever invented.
I love being a neutral, with a funny agenda. Like I was the funny Baron Zemo in the skrull game, with a funny busdriver power, but I died before I got to do much, which was a large shame.

Lol, yeah i was totally thrilled winning as the Underpants Gnomes :laugh:
Trying to steal Jimbo's underwear was the funniest thing ever, he started shooting at me and all the Gnomes went "Run Away!!!!!" and fled, but then he killed me, only to be resurrected by Chefs chocolate salty balls :noid:

Yeah, I loved being bulletproof Colossus in the Mutant Massacre game. I avoided death twice, and you feel really powerful when it happens. I got randomly picked when Scalphunter's lynch bomb went off, and lived. Then the Marauders tried to kill me at night. In my case, I was in a limited mason group with a tracker and a role-blocker that got a little info too, so it was cool to be the mouthpiece. I could make all kinds of accusations, since my own claim was pretty airtight. Just had to make sure I never looked like I was Malice'd or anything. Just to be sure...

I have a soft spot for silencers. The game I enjoyed most was Sunndydale Secrets where I was The Gentlemen. I was immune to most killing abilities, silence someone each night, and make a kill every third day when everyone was silent.
I targeted the same person each night, who was always talkative in other games. People lynched him because they thought HE was the gentlemen, and turns out I was silencing the SK pgo. Awsome.
My first win was over in guitar gods I, when I could transform people into rocktastic things. They could only make posts like whatever they were turned into. Towards the end, when DC was going "vroom vroom," I just said "DC I totally understand. 1968 red corvette huh?"
To which he responded "VROOM!"

I like Serial Killer roles. Love 'em. Not really having a rhyme or reason (in some circumstances) to your night action is very fun.

He recruited Barklay and Elmo into his little Fighting School. It was awesome.
And i pretended to be Elmo, which got me quite far, into the last 4 players i think :p

I like being the cop. Because once you find someone, you get to lead the lynch, and that's always fun.

I'm always a misdirector somehow. Being an evil misdirector is fun because you misdirect the cop onto your teammates and then follow the cop into lynching townies. :)

LOL, that sounds like the greatest role ever. I am a newb in the mafia world but so far my favorite has been being bulletproof+cop Shadowcat in X-men Movie. The serial killer targeting me 2 nights a row and then me targeting him the second time (by chance) and getting him lynched was great.
