Ok, I would try to do a lower point team, but I don't think thats possible to make this work.

I'm trying to build a theme team with Trigon, so thats 263 pts. Next, I went through and made a list of the other mystical characters I own that aren't too expensive and might work on this team, or else just round it out.

E Moon Knight (27 pts.)
V Magick (47 pts.)
U Spiral (56 pts.)
U N'astirh (125 pts.)
U Goblin Queen (81 pts.)
LE Kirigi (29 pts.)

So, looking at this, I have two directions I can go. I could use N'astirh and try to mind-control 3 people a turn to keep them running back to the doppelgangers if they break away, and making them block their own lines of fire with the barriers, or I could use Goblin Queen to TK out Spiral at whoever was tied up with doppelgangers, and then use her single target MC to do the same thing as N'astirh was doing. Then round it out with the cheap junk either way.

Any suggestions on which would work better? Or has anyone tried either of these two combos?

Ok, I've worked out two teams since I posted the last one, and would love input on either, or both:

Team #1
Trigon - 263
w/ protected - 8
N'astirh - 125
V Magick - 47
Kirigi - 29
E Moonknight - 27
Total = 499

Team #2
Trigon - 263
w/ Fortitude - 25
w/ Point Blank - 4
Goblin Queen - 81
w/ Mental shield - 15
Spiral - 56
Kirigi - 29
E Moon Knight - 27
Total = 500

So, while team 1 has more consistent damage potential, I'd hate to see Trigon just get outwitted the whole time. And team 2 has a lot invested in the one-trick pony of Spiral, but Goblin Queen should have some staying power with mental shields and Kirigi around to boost her AV.

Ok, now I'm ready for input from everyone!

Well, I'm not that well versed in sets prior to Mutant Mayhem/Icons, so I can't really make qualified comments on either of those teams, but I can offer you a decent 500 point option that would work in restricted and 50% floor environments:

Trigon 263
w/Fortitude 25
Dr. Alchemy 62
w/The Society 0
Gargoyle 58
Wiccan 54
Moon Knight 38 (Avengers set)
Alpha Flight 0

= 500 points

You've got Wiccan to throw Enhancements at Trigon, Dr. Alchemy for TK, two theme Probs, and you certainly won't be needing the Avengers or IL base TAs in a 500 point match. Moon Knight can cause some real problems with heavy objects on top of being a decent enough tie-up figure.

Fortitude is a must on a figure like Trigon in a larger point game, especially with so many Outwitters out there now. One figure with Dissent and another Outwit will completely ruin your day... no more Mystics, no more damage reduction = bye bye Trigon.

Yeah, I definitely agree with needing fortitude on Trigon. My issue is just that I started playing a long time ago, and don't buy more than a couple from each expansion these days when I really like one of the new ones they came out with, so I don't have any characters on the team you created other than Trigon. I think I'll just try the second team if we end up playing tonight.

Thanks!

I don't like N'astirh in there or point blank on Trigon. Inside Information or a Forbush POG is a much better use of 4 points.

That being said, I think TK + Spiral and E Moonknight might be the cover Trigon needs. So team 2 for me with Inside Info instead of Point Blank.
