I've seen a lot of things (mostly on SomethingAwful) about the real life superhero movement, everything I've read leading me to the conclusion I want to start a real life supervillain movement just to annoy and harass them.
Imagine how Mr. Extreme would react when, while handing out flyers, the nefarious Dr. Octagon shows up taunt him with questions about how much his mom helped with his costume.

Careful though...they have around 200 members worldwide.
(That part still boggles my mind...I wonder if they have someone operating in my area?)

There has to be a website or forum where these loons congregate. I want to find one in the southern Michigan/northern Indiana area so I can go bother them.

edit: this is the closest to local I can find: http://www.captainjackson.org/captainjackson/

I'm a member of that actually.

You don't need to be a costumed nutbar. I'm just a cool guy.

There is a reason that Superheroes dress in costumes ONLY in fiction cartoons and movies. Because it looks awful in real life.

Heroes the show is the biz-omb diggity, but even they have the decency not to dress up like idiots.

The more you mock them, the more I want to join them.

Well aside from the costumes.......what's nutty about them?
If MORE people took it upon themselves to tell the criminals they are SICK of them in their area and that they are watching the less I think we'd see everyday crimes occur.
Nothing would stop altogether but I think the smaller stuff would go away.
We need more citizens watching the streets and keeping their eyes OPEN instead of closed or turned away.
In a weird way...I applaud them.....but they need to just wear goggles and a trenchcoat or something......

While I do applaud their efforts, I'm with Popinjay on this. Where's my Real Life Super Villain Movement?

Here here!! I think it's a very good idea to encourage people to participate in crime prevention.... but to be taken more seriously, they should probably ditch the capes ;)

Apathy means no one would take them seriously anyway. At least with the capes they get news media attention and possibly get their message about this skateboard criminal out to a larger audience. I applaud the guy. 1000 dollars of his own money. Now THAT is community interest.

What I wonder in that is what makes that skateboarder criminal in eyes of those caped nutcases? Sure guy might be little reckless but his most likely just kid. They didn't say anything about how old that guy with skateboard is.

I got the impression the guy was using a skateboard like a baseball bat to attack people.

When I saw 'Extreme Justice League' imagine my disappointment when it wasn't about Superman and Batman putting Darkseid through a table or Wonder Woman jumping off the top ropes with a steel-folding chair into an Arabian Face Buster!

See, those guys just look silly, as one looks slightly overwieght. If those guys that run around the rooftops in Paris and stuff had a life, in joke leather costumes, weilding 2 batons, you can tell they'd be taken more seriously.

Can't remember whats its called, but it's what these people are doing in this music video; Jump (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwDjijmCm7U)

Please fight them in close combat. I'd prefer if there were really violent vigilantes. Like making you both feel safe and scared. Toying with our emotions.

Actualy if you listen to the news story. The "skateboarder" is wanted in connection with sexual assaults commited near the skatepark. I think it's wonderful. Wearing a costume gets peoples attention and they might not want others to know their true identities but makes look like goofballs. Captain extreme sounded sane. The Shadow guy sounded like he was a goofball.

Your all missing the fact the The SKATEMASTER (the criminal) as i like to call him, is their oldest and longest foe making him their ARCH Enemy. Matter of Fact the Skatemaster Helped Form the Extreme league of wannabe cops

Not to make Fun, but if u care that much about crime, take off the masks and form a nieghboor hood watch program(they have results) or sign up to become a cadet. Idk seems like a 1/2 ### effort.
