I've played something very close to the second one this week, and then a 1500 point version of it last night with the V Hawkman, Liberty Belle, E Mr. Terrific and Power Girl . It is outstandingly good. I'm sure E-2 Superman is fun, but the Spectre just makes that any JSA team really hard to beat given all the sharing of defenses.

Flash has so much movement that you can probably pass on Swingline and Merc. You can go the long way around hindering even on a large map and still retreat to behind blocking terrain. I found that often Flash wasn't with others to share the TA anyways.
