400pts Martial Artist Team, please help

Hello all,
I am attempting to build a 400 pts Martial Artist Team for an upcoming event.
I would like to see what you all think, and try to get some advice on which BFCs to use.

Here goes:

Robin (emo version) 79 pts, with Thwart = 94 pts
Shang-Chi 58 pts, with Pounce = 73 pts
Karate Kid 63 pts = 63 pts
Bronze Tiger 60 pts, with Protected = 68 pts
Batgirl 70 pts, with Protected = 78 pts
Amadeus Cho = 11 pts
Jimmy Woo = 10 pts

I also have 3 pts left over, any other legal Martial Artist pogs out there? Or at least Asian pogs... ;)


I want to use Malice, Armor Wars, and I am not sure about the third... I was thinking Deep Shadows, Damage Control, or Ground Zero...

With Suicide Squad and two Wildcards, and a Batman, I should be ok with alittle healing and stealth, but I am worried about facing a Feated Up E2 supes....
What do you all think...?

I must keep in Batgirl, Karate Kid, and Robin to fulfill the Floor Rules of 200 pts min from the new set... :(

Well, other than Robin you seem to be trying to stay with Asian characters, so you may not want to switch him in, but I would consider using Crisis Nightwing with Takedown instead of Shang Chi or Karate Kid. Karate Kid is your only flier, so he does give you some added movement advantage as a taxi. OTOH, his status as a flier reduces the effectiveness of his Combat Reflexes outside of hindering terrain (where he can copy Bat Ally) when facing anyone with a ranged attack (although carrying a pog or other figure to base them can ameliorate that problem). In addition to Nightwing's high DEF (with the deterrent of Takedown leading to a potential push if they miss), his Outsider's TA can be very helpful to stop some of the potential big hits from opposing characters' super strength, CCE, RCE, etc.

Sound advice, but I feel that I would be losing too much to put Nightwing in (and besides I hate that giant figure.... god, the sculpt is huge)... Robin sporting Thwart can really help with those Fortitude teams... and Shang is a beast with Pounce... I will admit that I am not a huge fan of Karate Kid, but I need the minimum 200 pts...
I also, didn't realize that most were Asian.. I knew about the pogs, but not the characters...as I don't really know DC, who knew Bronze Tiger and Batgirl were Asian... if they are, I didn't know. :)
Great idea for Nightwing, but not sure that losing Thwart is worth it...

i would probably drop Shang Chi/Pounce for Justiuce League Green Arrow too.

Lack of range will kill this team. I believe that you are probably going with SHang Chi sacrifice pog deal, but if with only 1 flyer, you will be greatly affected by terrain.(you might not get the pogs where they need to go).

If you don't want to do that, then you should probably drop Shang Chi for Timber Wolf, which would give you anthoer flyer and another Wildcard.

If you're looking for "Martial Artist" pogs, Misty Knight and Coleen Wing are good though not legal for Restricted events.

Actually, now that I think about it, Bronze Tiger is black, not Asian (he just wears a tiger mask).

Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) is half-Chinese. Her father is David Cain (caucasian), but her mother is Sandra Wu-San (ethnic Chinese) -- better known as Lady Shiva. Cassie is generally drawn to look quite Asian.

Also, I was suggesting dropping KK or Shang-Chi for Nightwing, not Robin, specifically so you could keep Thwart.

On a martial artist team nightwing, robin, karate kid and timber wolf are musts. timber wolf and KK are the taxis

What do you need to taxi Robin and Nightwing for... ?
There is little real punch in those guys right?
I don't know Timber Wolf.
Besides, I have to have Robin, KK, and Batgirl... must be at least 200pts of the new stuff... and I don't really like the Nightwing... HUGE sculpt.
Any more ideas?

If you don't want to invest in a 2nd flyer, you may want to consider using a pog with L/C.

The bane of the SS team ability is not being about to get your pog to their sacrificial spot on the map.

Native Warrior is only 11 points and the Toughness he has means that your opponent will not be able to one-hit him out of usefulness. Lockhead at only 8 will be hard to hit at range with his 15 DV with ESD & L/C so you can park him in hindering with no problem.

You could try out the new Green Arrow. 104 points is a lot, but he seems like fun.

Black canary- 50- manuever- 58

379. This leaves you with Inside Info for Robin (his keywords should help a lot since teen and gotham are among them). Monster Hunter would really put a hurting on the many giants in the set as well. Hell heigthened reflexes or pummel on robin ain't bad either.

379+ inside info. (robin)+ Forbush man + Pummel (robin). 398!!

Another possibility is Vet Psylocke from Armor Wars. She is another outstanding candidate for the feat, Takedown (along with Nightwing). Plus, with her starting three damage she is also a better candidate for Stunning Blow than is Nightwing (and she has longer range).
