Today (when the sun comes up) I plan to finally finish my Royal Flush Gang. I'll have to completely over-pay for King & Queen but whatever, it's worth it to me, the only problem is after you have them all...(I want them purely as miniatures but wouldn't mind playing them)...what do you do with them?
So far, I've had these thoughts
ACE
Ace is probably the most useful. He is a giant (which I always loved playing), he's got good powers and okay stats. And he is a 66 point beatstick with 7 clicks. I can also use two of my favourite cards with him...Giant Stride and Shockwave...He can ignore everyone when getting over to Nightwing/Batman/Whoever and then Quake them right outta Stealth (maybe even into a wall).
He also bases people from 2 away and has Plasticity, plus Quake for when he gets bored with them.
He also has a very handy consistent 16, this may be average..but is quite useful with a wildcard at the end of the battle (Defenders/JSA)
Ace has Robot Keyword and that makes him good with many teams you could come up with, I think they should have followed suit (haha, play on words) and gave King&Queen Ruler and Jack&Ten Teen. But whatever...
I've considered playing more than one Ace on a team, and still may.
JACK AND TEN
Not much harder to get, but a completely different strategy.
They are the meaning of options.
They have EE for crowds.
Duo Attack when there's no damage reducers.
And Psychic Blast when there are.
They also fly and are wildcards for 6 clicks, 8 range and 60 points even.
Not much else to say, nor reason to say more.
KING AND QUEEN
The problem many people seem to have with the gang besides the strange cost and they ALL being wildcards. Is that their leader(s) are Super Rare...it went from Uncommon and Common to Super Rare....quite the jump, but for those who watched Galactic Guardians and Batman Beyond...they're well worth the hunt.
If you only add a Teen Titan or X-Man to this team....you can take advantage of Regen combined with Contingency Plan...but I doubt I'd do that...cause that's stupid.
King & Queen are 89 points but always useful (Mind-Control - Incap - Regen....doubled up with powers to dodge attacks (Super Sense and Shape Change Mostly....but always atleast 1). If you get your rolls...you could potentially never hit them. They also are useful as not Flyers nor Giants because then you have options every time you build a team besides being wildcard because you have 3 types of figures (flyingduo,groundduo,giant....2with range).
Anyways...they're not the greatest of teams but pretty cool.
How to use them?
I've thought about this and would like some response on how others do/would use them...could always use new ideas for help
But so far....you basically use your 215 points of the 3 with whatever cards you'd like (if any) and their strategy doesn't change until you use a TA.
You carry King&Queen with Jack&Ten and they take shots from range while Ace does all the dirty work....just like in the comics:laugh: ...why else have a robot?
Then the real strategy comes into play when you add in the 85 points....or 185....or even 285....points.....
In unrestricted I'd do what I used to do with my all calculator team from Justice League....I Thunderbolt a cheap but useful Avenger (I liked Quicksilver or Hawkeye SR....both from Avengers set) and then hide them to keep the TA.
You could also use a Batman or a Nightwing (or both if you'd like)....maybe a Mordru in a huge game or a Klarion cause he's cheap Mystics....Superman Ally goes well with them.....especially Jack&Ten.
You won't get theme....but since you only need an Ordinary Day, a cheap PC and good rolls to be on par with theme.....I wouldn't sweat it.
The real strong point of the team is if you abuse Wildcard....Maybe a Nightwing AND a Klarion.....Stealth but if they can see to hit then you use Mystics....Especially with Ace....Stealth Giants are so much fun when you base someone who can't hit you back....memories of sealed using Toyman and Common Batman come to mind from Justice League.
Anyways....that's all the ideas I've had so far...
I don't know what I'll play for 500 today
I was thinking of using Mordru and just being a beat stick with the Royal Flush Gang running around causing trouble (which actually would be something that'd happen).
I was also thinking of some cheap TAs to wildcard to plus Dawnstar for that Quarry SP and another Wildcard. Maybe I'll use Defenders & Syndicate......pretty straightforward strategy there. I was also considering Psycho Pirate cause he can be Merc'd and would be really helpful in helping the Gang hit people....his costume also goes SO WELL with them...you gotta admit it.
What would everyone (or atleast those who reply) do with this team?
Or what do you do?
*Also....one last note.....anybody who builds a team that's actually theme and doesn't even wildcard to anything...would SO have my vote for fellowship....not that bad of a trade-off when you think about it....couple PCs are always handy.
For 300...I'd suggest
1 King&Queen
2 Aces
1 Jack&Ten
+19 points of cards
I'd use Giant Stride, Lucky Break & Drag (just so everyone gets a card and it comes out to 300 points)
No TA but 2 PCs and a free Ordinary Day
I'm still trying to think of how to save Psycho Pirate and the Royal Flush Gang....right now it's them and 15 points of cards....but as I said...they just look so good together!
