I have a serious problem with this, I love Nick Fury, he's one of my favourite Marvel characters and before I got him (I'm talking about the Clobberin' Time version) he was like my top want in Heroclix.
So I was looking over the keywords cause I had the idea to do a 4-way match that's a tag team clix battle. SHIELD & PD (PD being the Easy Company) facing off against 2 other 200 point teams. I collect SHIELD and my friend collects Easy Company and it just seemed like a very fun idea.
So I was looking to see Sentinel Troopers keywords (Soldier would be fine) but then saw that Nick Fury didn't have SHIELD.
I sorta liked the keywords when they first came out but it took away from alot of the fun when making random teams or stupid themes (like my colourized themes and made up story ones) but they mostly got rid of Mutant and then made the generic rule which made not putting it with the retired sets pointless. (it is held by the Morlocks and Apoc but that's not enough)
Anyways, yeah, this really annoyed me.
I've had a problem with noone using House Rules or House Ruling something has an obvious theme present (atleast around me), like there's no Easy Company Keyword but there should be, so they deserve 1 PC per every 2 instead of 3.

Wizkids does alot of stupid things for alot of stupid reasons, but they really need to change that, Nick Fury with no SHIELD keyword is the silliest thing I have ever heard of. He has Leadership, Mastermind and the TA....he must have it!

Also...if you look......Mole Man & the Moloids need common keywords too.

I used to be obsessed with making generic teams, Bastion and the Sentinels, Hellfire led by Black King, etc etc. Now they're crippling something that wasn't that powerful to begin with! (not for all of them but any of them is too much)

I know it's not quite the same thing, but Samuel L. Fury (you know, Ultimate Nick?) has the S.H.I.E.L.D. TA ...

He has the Team Symbol, I don't see the problem.
I thought if they had the keyword and/or the team symbol it counted...
I have almost every SHIELD member, only missing 4-5 LEs... and 3 of each rookie, 2 exper, 1 veteran... with all the Us and LEs (other than those few...)
He is SHIELD, don't worry about it.

You'd think that ... but according to a judge I know, that is not the case.

Same here
Really annoying
Even when the theme is so painfully obvious
And my judge(s) usually have the keywords at their disposal or someone will at the venue(s)

It doesn't, because Alpha Flight doesn't equal Avengers for keyword purposes.

I'm pretty shocked that old-school Fury lacks the SHIELD keyword. But this appears to be a result of WK retroactively adding modern-day continuity to older sets. Nick Fury has been director of SHIELD for a long time, and is actually a fugitive from them right now as well, so it makes some sense for him not to get the keyword.

And I'm OK with that, so long as we get a proper new one in Secret Invasion.

Yeah, but....Leadership, SHIELD attire, SHIELD TA, Mastermind.....he is not meant for modern-day continuity.....It'd be cool to have a new one but there's a legal Nick Fury right now and that's enough for me, especially with not enough SHIELD stuff that I'd play him with......my problem with lack of generics

My favourite is the U 69 point Lex Luthor. He is standing with the Philosopher's stone, which comes from Grant Morrison's Injustice Gang story line. That image is directly from the comic. Does that Lex Luthor have the Injustice Gang keyword? Nope, the OTHER two Luthor's have it, but not him.

That's just moronic.
