LARGE OBJECT:

When any character you control uses an object as a weapon, you may reduce the damage increase provided by the object, to a
minimum of 1 damage. The character gets +1 to its attack value for that attack for each 1 damage reduced.

So in using a Heavy object, you reduce damage mod to +1, and increase attack value by +1

Can a light object be used here?

Yes, you can....but you wouldn't get any benefit from it (unless it had special rules to increase the damage). Same reason you can use Incap on a figure with 2 tokens.... it's a legal action, you just don't get any benefit from it.

Well, you would get +1 attack from the object; you just wouldn't reap any damage benefits from the object.

Nope:

Large Object
Cost:3 points/100 of game
Sets:Legacy
Prerequisites: Super Strength or Telekinesis
When any character you control uses an object as a weapon, you may reduce the damage increase provided by the object, to a minimum of 1. The character gets +1 to its attack value for that attack each 1 damage reduced.
Errata:

So you couldn't get any benefits at all.

So assign everyone 'Large Object' (that has SS)
Use 'Rip it Up'

And the BFC that makes light objects into Heavy objects

And you have an unlimited supply of +1 attack, +1 damage for Super Strengthers

(I know..you're thinking, 'Why bother with 'Large Object'? Just take the unlimited +2 damage.... I always seem to miss attack rolls by 1 :) )

And the BFC that makes light objects into Heavy objects

High Gravity. That's alot of work for such a small bonus.
