THis is my favourite of the prequels, no annoying kid, no incredibly long speeches at the bubble opera, but it still has its flaws.
I really enjoy the movie until they land on the space bug planet and then things fall apart for me. The whole movie would have been fine if Lucas hadn't second guessed himself and decided that it needed an extra boost in te arm at the last moment, in the form of the droid assembly scene.
The scene is so silly, pointless and out of place, not to mention boring, that it takes away from what could have been a very exciting rescue and an epic jedi battle. The worst and completely unforgivable part of the scene for me is that it gives birth to the worst few moment in all six movies, "what a drag" and "I'm beside myself". Here we have the largest jedi battle of all, the moment we had all been waiting for and it gets broken up by quips that would make Al Bundy groan.
It is a solid movie but the worst moment in Star Wars history is enough to knock at least two points off.

After having been thoroughly disappointed by Episode 1 I resisted watching Episode 2 for a long, long time.
Turns out I actually like this one best of the prequels. The arena battle is fantastic.
The interaction between Padme and Anakin, though...I'd rate the movie considerably higher if those scenes did not exist (and I usually skip them when watching Episode 2).

This movie is awesome just because of Christopher Lee alone.
That said, there's a lot going against it. It's not a bad movie per se, but the "actor" playing Anakin can't act and the love scenes are more like puke scenes. I may not be into chick flicks or classic love dramas, but I know bad romantic #### when I see it.

Perhaps my favorite of the prequels. The 3rd just tried to hard to make the connection from this trilogy to the original one. Loved the lightsabre swinging throughout the film and the jedi-droid battle at the end. Christopher Lee is very good in this film but I admit is a little bit of a letdown when compared to Maul, in terms of badassness and coolness factor. And I'm happy to have seen Yoda do his thing even if it was rather short. But I'm in the camp that doesn't like Hayden and the romance between Anakin and Padme did suffer cause of that but was not that bad, though could have been better.
8/10. Even not great, I found it very entertaining so I got my moneys worth I suppose. What really killed this movie was the fact that it was the sequel in the prequel trilogy. This is the film that should have kicked started the whole thing. Honestly, we didn't need to see Anakin as a kid and the whole "sith lord" manipulating the republic would have been easily set up during the clone wars. And, Count Dooku still would have been Palpatine's pawn while Maul would have come in a later movie and given the part he deserved, 6 minutes of screen time is just awful.

The worst of the series, easy. I can barely watch the movie at all, let alone enjoy it more than a little.
2/10
While I dont agree at all with spaceys overall rating of this film (way too low), I may have to agree that AotC is probably the overall least enjoyable for me of the prequels (TPM comes close, with RotS being my favorite, definately).
OK, for me, while this may have been my least favorite of all the SW films (may be, as Im not sure whether this or TPM takes that honor), that still doesnt mean I think its a bad movie (heck, Jedi was my least favorite of the original trilogy, and I gave that a 9.25).
This film did have its share of very cool scenes, the birth of the Empire (all to a booming Imperial March at that), Yoda FINALLY kicking butt with a lightsaber, a massive Jedi battle, Mace Windu and Count Dooku showing their stuff, and heck even Jar Jar wasnt so bad in this one. :)
Though it also had its share of faults, too complicated a plot for a SW film, NO chemistry between Anakin and Padme, Anakin being more whiny then brooding (neither of which I blame Hayden for), dumb quips from Threepio at the end battle (or mostly bad dialogue all around for all really), and overall action scenes just for the sake of them.
To me, this was a fary cry from what I grew up thinking STAR WARS as, though that doesnt mean its a bad movie, as Ive seen Much Worse films in my time, with little doubt (I mean heck, just the special effects alone give this movie a 6 for me).
Overall Ill give this what I did TPM, as each have their own pros and cons to one another, and I really cant say which one I like more than the other.

I'm one of the few that likes the prequels has much has the original trilogy, I'm giving this one a solid 8.75.
I wich they would redo the first trilogy with today's special effects, well done, it would be light years in front of the originals.

Well its more interesting than Phantom Menace. Has less far less Jar Jar Binks. Anakin is still annoying but at least Hayden can act, which is more than Jake Lloyd could ever accomplish. Unfortunately, Padme and Anakin have no chemistry to the point they come off as kinda creepy. And the cardinal sin of the prequels...
Jedi.
The new god-like jedi powers are too much. They're too over the top and I think they make the characters less interesting and considering the jedi are more or less all the same character just different looks, thats not a good thing. It really comes down to the fact that theres not much to them outside of Anakin and Obi-wan. Yoda gets some due to being so different but the rest... are all a variation on Obi-wan from A New Hope.
There are really no interesting characters like Han Solo, Chewie... You have baby Boba & Jango, but baby Boba is annoying and Jango is basically Boba Fett in shinier armor.
I think it really falls flat on the fact that it, more than the other prequels tries to throw too much plot development into one movie. It kills the romance between Anakin and Padme and basically makes the tempo of the whole movie feel rushed. The dialog is horrendous and weak. Its just missing every bit of the magic that makes the original trilogy classic and why these movies only succeeded by being attached to that magic. If it wasn't for its predecessors, Star Wars would have ended at Phantom Menace.
I give it 4/10
whoa!!!! some serious kvetching about this movie. I'ma gonna quote another poster who must have been readin' my mind:

Well I like it leaps and bounds over the Phantom menace.... but the Threepio scenes, the Flying Wallendas impersonation.... just bad bad bad. I have to forward the movie past that atrocious retch-inducing section of the movie..... and Anakin and Padme's romance? (Tip: never let Lucas write script, especially Love scenes)

This is blasphemy, if anything I think the prequels would have been light years better if they relied less on todays technology and were forced to use a bit of the creativity of the older ones. Just look at how much worse the re-releases are and you will see my point.

best one of the new sequels Yoda finally getting his props is awesome !!
9.5/10 only because the Anakin/Padme love story didn't really work.
Yeah, the prequels blew. Having said that, I'd still watch any of them over the latest Indiana Jones movie.
6/10 and only because of Master Yoda at the end
