Best player on the best team in the best conference!

Say what you will about Chris Paul and Lebron, Kobe has been excellent for so many years and I am glad he is finally getting recognized by the league.

That's exactly why he won... if he didn't win this year he would turn into Susan Lucci.

Kobe has more tools in his bag, and yet CP's team had nearly the same amount of victories in the same conference with a bunch of 3rd and 4th and 5th teir players on his squad.

CP should have won it, but he will get his yet.. he is young.

It's just a shame they don't give it to the most deserving for the season and give it to the guy who never won one and was on the verge of never winning one.

Kobe is a great player, fantastic player who stepped up his all around game to propel the Fakers to the best record in the west. It is a shame he decided to only put forth that effort when he finally got some pieces to his puzzle.

Kobe rubs me the wrong way and it has nothing to do with his off court junk, could care less.... it comes from his, or my perception, of his sense of entitlement to the game. He has been divisive, snarky, back biting, and back stabbing to his organization yet because of his talent he has an incrediblely long leash. He hasn't done anything without Shaq yet (starting to now) and he acts like he is Jordan and should be treated as such.

Oh well, congrats to Kobe.. Hopefully the Celtics beat them in 6, lol.

Being as his team went on fire once they got Pau Gasol, this doesn't make any sense. It's not the you have been popular for years but haven't won this yet award, it's supposed to be for the player that was most valuable to his team this season and there is no way that that was Kobe.

P.S. The NBA has the worst system of handing out awards. It is almost like they are trying to sneak them under the radar and ensure that nobody cars.

Could not agree more, lol... I always hated how the NBA does its voting for all awards and for All-Star voting, don't get me started on that.

How the heck does a guy make the All-Star team when they miss 2 1/2 months or some huge amount due to an injury??

For years Tracy McGrady was the living example of such, lol... This year the guy in Toronto had a "vote for me" website.

It's a joke, the only way I know if someone is an All-Star or not is to go research stats and judge for myself.

alas, back on topic... Kobe has been killer so far and with the Mavs and Suns self imploding and the Spurs going to war with the CPMVP they will be tired and show alot of thier age when they finally meet the Lakers, if they meet the Lakers, lol.
