300 point Marvel Villain Scientists...

So I have a task for the upcoming tournament - I am to make a Dr Doom team for a new guy that wants to try out the game. It's a 300 point game, so I'm leaning towards the good old CJ Veteran - extremely good and easy to play, and he leaves room for some other guys as well. So here is what I have in mind:
V Dr Doom 198
U Mad Thinker 53
CJ R Doctor Octopus 22
R AIM Medic 14
R AIM Agent 13

Mad Thinker is there to provide Prob Control to make Doom's wicked stats even worse. Octopus is a harasser and tie-up piece, and the AIM guys are basically cannon fodder for Doom.
The main weakness of the team is of course that it is very range focused, so Stealth will be a problem - Octopus can probably be sent in to deal with Stealth guys, but an entire Stealthed team may pose a problem. We do not usually play with BFCs at my venue, so do not propose Bright Lights as a solution.
I am open to alternate suggestions though. He is not opposed to play a Doombot, but I am having problems coming up with even a semi-thematic Doombot team.

For an armor team, you might try this:
V Doom
R Beetle
R Doombot
R Doombot

Leaves 13 points for feats and you have access to SinSyn TA so that all and sundry may partake of Doom's wicked 12 AV. And while Beetle may not have ever worked with Doom, it's not hard to imagine him doing so.

Is it safe to say the R Black knight started his career as evil? I mean he was against the Avengers in the beginning wasn't he? I mean the guy was easy to full in the beginning. It really is hard to make a 300 point team surrounded by THAT Doom but:

I don't know how picky you are, but Alpha flight can be thrown in if worried about combat values!! Basically Black Knight charges in (or use move and attack) with Dr. Ock in tow to take on any steatlth menaces. Agents stick with Doom and Doom range attacks any opposition.

I had to take out Mad Thinker because you had too much support on that first team. Just an idea after all. Now if only your friend would look at 2099 Doom.........

A different person. So, from the original Masters of Evil that Zemo assembled we're still missing that villainous, bucket-helmed Black Knight and the Iron Man foe, the Melter. Certainly we need at least a remake of the Enchantress... and I wouldn't balk at getting new, SP-driven versions of the Executioner and Radioactive Man shortly down the line.

That was before he got the atomic steed he is riding in the FF sculpt though - he may have had the winged horse Aragorn in his first appearance, I'm not sure.

Kind of a moot point though as I'd prefer to keep the Thinker on the team - PC is good to have, and the Transporter mechanic can be tricky to explain for a newbie.

Ahh...just trying to get you something to fight stealth. Yeah i looked him up. He wasn't the evil Black Knight, but Dane did join the evil team.

I haven't re-read them in decades, but I seem to recall him picking up the mantle in Avengers 47/48 just after his uncle being killed, and then coming on the scene riding Aragorn. The next Masters of Evil story wasn't until around issue #54 (with the Crimson Cowl - falsely revealed to be Jarvis but soon shown to actually be Ultron) pulling it together... so the above isn't sounding quite right to me.
