The Sydney Games Centre on Burwood Road has been renamed Good Games Burwood, so here's a new thread to announce upcoming tournaments and keep a record of winners.
HeroClix tournaments are held every Sunday afternoon from 2pm. We play three-round tournaments with Swiss pairings, according to the latest tournament rules (with different scenarios most weeks). Entry costs $5, which is used to purchase boosters that are opened to provide characters and cards for the prize pool.
Good Games Burwood is located at Level 1, 195A Burwood Road, Burwood NSW 2134

Last week M.O.D.O.C. won Alliances Tested, the first week of high-point clix crises, with Fin Fang Foom... will we see more colossals over the next two weeks?
Sunday the 18th of May: Plans Unravel!
Part Two of three high-point clix crises! The plans of heroes and the schemes of villains alike aren't going as expected. Your preparations may turn against you, but if you think fast you could find an unexpected edge...
600 point constructed tournament.
Retirement is not in effect.
At the beginning of each game, your opponent chooses which of your unused battlefield conditions you must play that game (he must choose one).
Outwit cannot be used counter powers possessed by opposing characters. Instead, Outwit can be used to counter a single opposing feat until the beginning of your next turn. Other rules for Outwit apply normally.

Sunday the 25th of May: Cross-Universe Crisis!
Part Three of three high-point clix crises! With foes such as the Anti-Monitor, Lord Foom, and the Devourer of Worlds rampaging across reality, only one universe can survive...
600 point constructed tournament.
Retirement is in effect (restricted environment).
All of the characters on your force must belong to the same universe (all Marvel, all DC, or all Indy).
Once per turn when you declare an attack (but before the roll), you can choose to have the attack deal penetrating damage if it succeeds.

Did this thread die after the first post?
I thought the games @ Burwood were still on. Am I wrong?

The big problem is that there's no judge and so no consistent organisation.
I was going every week for awhile, and so I made up some scenarios so that people knew what to play... but there were a couple of weeks when nobody else came, or it was just two people.
Since early June I haven't been able to go every Sunday, and with Matt being overseas at the same time there has been multiple weeks when nobody showed up (Josh was the only guy there one week).
I'm thinking that maybe Good Games doesn't have a strong enough group right now to support weekly games, and maybe should shift to fortnightly.
Anyway, I'll be there tomorrow... hopefully some other folks come too!

Well, as you know, I have not been able to make much but I was in town tomorrow and - after Mina's fab TS HC debut - double six on the last roll against Rachel's Supergirl - the ONLY way she could have won that game and thus the night - was AMAZING to see but as cool as it was for Mina, I imagine, 'twas a drag for Rachel to have victory snatched at the 11th hour, even moreso than Willamina's win against MODOK. I wanted to post on the Realms but decided against it. I was considering checking out Good Games at 2, sans first-born which should be more fun (for me, though I love hangin', when I can - which is so seldom - with Mina little-Clix-grrl).
I should be there. I'll try my best.

I was there for a bit over an hour today. Next week will hopefully be a sealed; I'll give Good Games a phone call on Friday to make sure they have Secret Invasion in.

Hmmm...
Turned up to the sealed a few weekends ago but talk was not great re: regular play.
Will cruise by 'round 2 and see what is up.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I couldn't make it today. Big gathering at home for my friend's birthday.

When you roll the dice, do they spin counter-clockwise?

Is it worth turning up tomorrow @ Burwood? It is Father's Day and Mina has a keen wish to kick my butt Clix-style. It would all be rather convenient.
They still have a game advertised (here even - my query about this being a dead thread did not get a conclusive response) and if Mina and I turned up we would technically have a comp instead of a social game...

I dn't think I'll be there tomorrow.

Sgt Grimes and I went to Burwood today to check this out.
First of all, the guy at the counter had no idea that HeroClix had been mentioned in the weekly newsletter (for at least two weeks now). There haven't been any people showing up to play, that's for certain. Sgt Grimes and I had a game (his Asgardians destroyed my Agents of Atlas, sadly - damn valkyries!) and nobody else showed up in that time.
The store doesn't have any recent HeroClix stock. It does have boosters of older sets for $9 - which could be a good deal if you don't have much Avengers, Mutations and Monsters, Secret Invasion, or Arkham Asylum. There was also some Batman Alpha (didn't see the price on those) and Fantastic Forces 2-packs ($3 each). I bought a Fantastic Forces pack for the heck of it and got a veteran Asp and experienced Nightcrawler.
Weirdly, I walked past over a dozen Fin Fang Foom tournament kit boxes. They have more of those things than any venue could ever hope to use! You may recall that these kits each had a purple pants Fin Fang Foom, a dozen of The Mighty Thor figures, a dozen Batman (with the Superman Ally team ability) figures, and three Johhny Thunder LEs.
I suspect that Croftminster offloaded all of these cases when they got out of clix; who knows what Good Games paid for them, but they literally have a wall of the things.

Wow! I wouldn't mind a Foom but I am after that Bats and Johnny.
Gosh, I should drop by next Sunday just to suss out what they are going to do with them. It is not like they will be running out of the shop...

Yeah, let us know. If they decide to sell for a reasonable price... I don't need a second Foom myself but it would make a decent gift.

I'm pretty sure that my store - Good Game Ballarat - nabbed a lot of those Fooms. Clix is doing well here, so they managed to offload a few of them at the bargain price of $50 each. I got one myself (would really like the Orange one, but I'm happy to have at least one Foom- it's really a nice sculpt).
