Emp. Joker, etc. & Giant Size

Ok, looking at the new rules made me think of something... the new rules state that a character with the :g-giant: symbol has the Giant Size ability, which is now clearly stated as a non-optional ability.
So does this mean that Emperor Joker and other characters cannot any longer turn off their Special Power that grants the :g-giant: symbol...

Don't think so because special powers are still optional.

That's exactly my thought. There's nothing that says the SP isn't optional (at least the way I remember it). So you can turn off the SP and be a normal sized character.
