Well Mr. Dana White said that Columbus is going to be like the UFC's Wrestlemania and in his exact words we can hope to see more super fights in March. So that being said who do you want to see in a super fight?

also your thoughts on who the best in the world is would be a great added bonus to this thread as well.

I'll just throw out two or three super fights to get the ball rolling

Fight 1
B.J Penn Vs. GSP II

I think BJ can hold the title for the rest of the year and GSP should be able to keep the best would it not be awesome to see the square it up again? I think BJ actually won the first fight based upon damage alone really when I rewatch the fight and look at GSP performance it wasn't impressive he did manage to take BJ down but one take down dosen't win the fight. I think in the second fight it would be more of a stand up war and the result is really up in the air I could call it either way.

Fight 2
Anderson Silva Vs. GSP

This would probably happen at a catch weight of 180 I actually think this fight sounds great on paper and I think it would be just and awesome fight to watch, both are good strikers but Anderson is probably the best in the world at pin pointing a spot and making his opponet pay. Georges would have to be quick on his feet and really work his defense Which I think he's the fastest fighter on his feet in MMA. Both are great on the ground but I think Dan Henderson exposed some holes if you want to call them that in Andersons game, or so it looked like Dan Henderson actually said when he had Anderson down he was holding Dan on top of him letting him punch him.

Fight 3
Chuck Lidell Vs. Anderson Silva

Strikers paradise this fight would end in a knockout. Sometimes though I think Chuck is too afraid to get knocked out like in the Jardin Fight he just let himself be contained by Keith's long reach and never really went for a classic Iceman finish maybe he was just gases or maybe he was afraid he'd get knocked out if he got in too close.

If you have some Dream fights let them be spoken here!

Penn v. GSP II

I don't think I can really evaluate this fight until BJ v. Sherk, but it's an interesting match up. GSP shouldn't want to take BJ down (though, Hughes, Serra, same thing) and I think GSP is most vulnerable to stand up fights.

GSP v. Anderson

I can't see GSP beating Silva. I can't really see anyone beating Silva right now. I can see GSP getting trapped in a clinch though:)

Anderson v. Chuck

I don't think Chuck has been Chuck since the Rampage fight. The Jardine loss was dominant. I wasn't impressed by the Wand fight. I think Anderson would take him, unless he gets back to being himself, in which case, I still think Anderson would take him, but it would be interesting.

I want: Huerta/Guida II - The first fight was amazing. Any fight with Guida is amazing, and Huerta complimented him very well.

Rampage/Machida - I just like Machida a lot, and I can't wait to see him take out Tito. Not that I don't like Tito, but he hasn't had a good fight in some time.

I want to see Tito and Loyoto Saturday it should be nice Tito's last fight what is that going to be like for Dana and Tito wow this is just to market himself but this should be great.

Speaking of Clay Guida I was in Cincy for 76 I got to get in the elevator and Guida is sitting on a baggage cart telling us there no room it was classic I turned to my brother and I was like that's Clay Guida and he's like no it wasn't dude is unmistakeable lol it's always cool to run in to MMA Fighters. I've had some other cool ones to I did get mixed up at UFC 82 while trying to find the fight club party in columbus and hung out with Matt Serra for a couple mins trying to find the event lol it was great fun.

I think that Machida is going to end up being too slow for Ortiz and Tito will probably end up taking him down and pounding him out in the first round. I know he's undefeated "with a win over Rich Franklin" but he's still hasn't really proven himself to me. He's very patient and that helps him game he waits for a spot then takes it but I just think it's that Patients that will get him taken down against Tito. Striking I would venture to say is even Machida will be 10X's better on the ground but not while he's mounted against the cage taking elbows. Anyways I think Rampage would do the same thing as Tito only with better striking a lot better striking, I would like to see a Franklin Vs Jackson or a Griffin Vs Ortiz II that fight was a good one to.

GSP vs BJ is happening at the end of January, but some fights I would like to see are:
Nog/Couture(doubt Randy will come back but this fight would PWN)
Anderson/Chuck
Rampage/Wanderlei
Hughes/Serra
Guida/Tyson II

Anderson V Chuck is in the works Chuck really wants his belt back though and wants forrest right after 88. If that dosen't happen He will probably try to fight the winner of BJ and GSP. Anderson said he wants super fights and he also wants to defend his belt. Odd two of the three bouts I wanted to see are very close to happening.

It was on MMA Weekly quoted a while back by Dana as saying it's the most popular MMA fighter of our time against the best pound per pound fighter in the world. There are just a couple things in the way Anderson has to defend his belt and Chuck wants his when Chuck gets Forrest don't be suprised at all if his first defense is against Anderson Silva. It's still a ways off but it's closer than we think. If Chuck destroys Rashad then we will probably get Liddel V Griffin pretty Quick. Once that fight happens he's on to Forrest then on to Anderson if he can get back to form. The most recent source is MMA Weekly in an article about Anderson only wanting super fights he'll defend his belt but he only wants to fight quality guys. Then again it could have been the UFC 90 Chicago talks.

Rampage/Wanderlei
Hughes/Serra

I know that Hughes is recovering nicely and Serra really wants the fight hell both of them want that fight as soon as Hughes is ready it's go time on that one. Rampage is going to have to meet Wandi if he wants his belt back I wouldn't be suprised if it's not his first fight back in the Octogon, he's got some legal issues still but not the miscarriage one, I don't know if you guys read that or not but the miscarriage was to natural causes. It's still sad I know, he's still got some legal battles but he's training now.

GSP Will beat BJ, no doubt about that. And as far as the first fight goes.......hopefully BJ doesn't try to bury his finger into GSPs brain this time around........

Chuck will beat Rashad, but I really don't think he's going to take the belt from Forrest. If that fight happens, Chuck can't let it go past the 3rd round (that was Rampages downfall) or Forrests conditioning will win him the fight.

Anderson would beat GSP, hands down. GSP is one of my top 3 fighters, hell my #1 guy, but Anderson is too big and too techincal for him. Much the same way that GSP is too big, fast, strong and athletic for BJ.

Any way you look at it, it is a very exciting time to be an MMA fan, and I can't wait for the months ahead.

nothing is a sure thing in this sport, I personally think BJ will dominate GSP, and i think he got robbed in the first fight, also that eye gouge was an accident

I agree...

True dat

but back to the subject of dream fights

Randy is coming back to the UFC! Nov. 15th in Portland Oregon, possibly against Lesnar. But after the lesnar fight the UFC is seriously considering co-promoting with M1 so the Randy/Fedor fight is closer than ever to actually happening!
