Their is a very good likelihood that this will be my last days on the Realms and the internet in general. I appear to have a very bad viruses that nothing seems to be able to find and at times I have thousands of windows popping up and the dreaded blue screen. If this happens then I kiss my internet bye bye as i cant afford a new computer. Just a heads up to all if you notice me missing and not on for awhile that is why. It was nice knowing you and hanging with you all.

Came with the comp each were 40 gigs instead of one 80 gig as they said it was cheaper that way when i bought it Possible, or maybe just one. why do you have 2?

I couldnt say that is what they told me 2 years ago and since they were already in the comp i did not argue. It was enough for me so I had no reason to say give me just one 80 so I can add on as i dont store that much stuff.
The irony of all this is that I just upgraded my anti-virus like 2 days ago and now this. I worry i may have got this from my new digital camera as I have been hearing that is happening to some electronic products they are uploading viruses before they come to america. I was told i would likely have to remove it manually but of course nobody can find it on my comp

Well at the time this computer I got a good buy on it and could not find a place to get a MAC expect online but I used them a lot in college and they were fine by me.

And they are that cheap wow I should be able to afford one then if mine goes down. I just pray not. Its just too bad that what happens is confusing everybody so I dont what exactly is wrong but they think a virus but not one they have ever seen before

HP Photosmart 435 given to me by a friend never a problem before but who knows. Just today when I took pictures off and tried to burn a CD after I started something to make it compatible and boom blam. Restarted and about a 1000 new windows opened . Then when I opened my disc drive a second time boom again.

Does your local library have computer access? When I have had times w/o internet or w/o computer I used the facilities at the library. The other trik is finding a coffee shop with patron-use computers.

Reformating is a possibility although some one tried and my computer refused to comply. So far three"experts" have looked it over and dont what is wrong as it is not acting like a virus. I hope It wont come to that but I wanted this out their in case i all of a sudden dissapear for more like 3 days they now to replace me in mafia/modkill me and not inconvenience their games

If it's not finding a virus or not behaving like one I would say return to a past "time-stamp" instead. Then maybe look at installing spyware/adware protection program.

Actually, I don't know how computer literate you are, so I dunno if you should download Spybot Search and Destroy, since it has a function that scans the system every time you boot up, and you have to manually disable it (since it takes a long time) , and I'm not sure if you can do that.

Well lets see.
Already use Firefox have for quite some time
Have adaware/spyware protection just apparently it is not catching it, which is what makes it the more frustrating
Have all the current updates
I will try the defender and i admit although knowing a bit about comps but dont understand the whole time stamp thing
only time stamps i know are telling you when you posted something but not in a way connected to the hardware or a comp

Your pc will take a "snapshot" and you can system restore to that time. Potentially before you experienced the problems. It has saved my back-side once or twice.

Your Dell should have come with a Restore disk. What it does is delete what is on your hard drive and sets it back to the way it came from them.

Make sure you don't have anything on your computer that you don't want to lose.
If you don't have the restore disk, you can make a DOS boot up disk.
Then boot from the floppy, you are bypassing the hard drive and windows.
Once you get a command prompt do an FDisk and it will erase everything on the disk.
Then you format it, then re-install Windows.

I'm going to assume you're using XP.

Start Menu/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore

Click "Restore my computer to an earlier time"
Click next.
Click a bolded day before the problems occured.
Select System Checkpoint in the space to the right of the calendar.
Click next, twice.
System will HOPEFULLY restore. Expect a shutdown, and reboot.
Follow the instructions in an affirmative way after this point.

Shoot me a PM and I'll try to help more, if that doesn't work.

there is several ways to solve this problem (werever the problem is).

if several things fail do this:

go to Start- Run and type "msconfig".

Press Ok. you will see a windows, select "Start Up" and uncheck everything.

you will be ask to restart your PC. do it.

You may have catched something and that can disable werever is doing the problem.

Yeah after finally getting someone who seemed to know what he was doing he has dicovered it is my disc drive as long as i never use it again I am seemingly safe but opening it may crash my comp not ideal but he is working on something more long term
