Write ups are done. Well, the basics are done. Well, on some of them. Either way, this one is going to be a ton of fun. Cuthbert and I have had a blast just bouncing ideas off of each other.

This will have as much of the flavor of Doctor Who as two guys from the Midwest of America can muster.

It has been brought to my attention that St. Cuthbert isn't originally from the Midwest. Which works well, as I wasn't born in the Midwest either. He's from Conneticutt, I'm from even further East.

Ah, my first mafia game. The high point was definitely my fake RC, though, just to see the real Weeping Angel lynched first.

Of course, I knew I was dead at that point, but c'est la vie. ;)

I was once judging a 'clix game and there was a kid who was having trouble turning his dials. I was dressed up as 10 at the time and would use shine the light from the screwdriver on the figure before turning. He actually seemed to believe that it made a difference.

When the game starts, send a PM with the game URL to the players so we know the game has started.

Many game mods assume that all of us watch the mafia forum closely and will automatically know when a game starts. Then they ping us days later and ask why we're not participating. :ermm:

On a related note, there's a new Dalek-theme DVD box-set (really just collecting previously released DVD's together with a slipcase) that either just came out or will be out soon (having the DVD's already I didn't go for the box-set).

Oh, and the Doctor Who comic dealing with William Hartnell that came out about two weeks ago? Worth it. :)

I think a novel or graphic novel is really the only way to properly tell a story involving every incarnation of The Doctor to date. There are simply too many of them to give all of them something worthwhile to do in a two or three hour story. A book or graphic novel has no such constraints, so each Doctor could get a fair share of the plot development. It wasn't such a problem when there were only three of them. By the time there were five, it was a bit much. Even without Tom Baker participating, Patrick Troughton role was relatively pointless to the story. This was especially annoying considering that the substitute First Doctor got more and better scenes than Troughton did.

A goofy and pointless bit of trivia suddenly occurs to me. The whole incarnation/regeneration count has now been evened out by the events of season four's finale. Before, Tennant was the tenth incarnation of The Doctor in his ninth regeneration. Now that The Doctor has regenerated without changing incarnations, he's undergone ten regenerations.

Back in the day when we were dealing with a fairly strict continuity, this might have been more important. In the here and now of The Doctor, when it looks as though he'll simply be given an infinite number of regenerations, it doesn't mean so much. I can remember back when I was a kid and the idea of having a limit of thirteen different Doctors seemed so far off it didn't mean anything.
