Anyway, here's the results of the the 4th DDM tourney of 2009 in alphabetical player's name order hehe :laugh:

Charged through Storm and a bunch of Sharn Redcloaks before succumbing to long-range bombardment of fire and acid.

Dags
Borderlands: Solamith, Soulrider Demon, Skull Cleave Warrior, Oni, Merchant Bodyguard x3, Farmer, Goblin Runner. Map: Drow Outpost
First round bye, then rained fire and acid on Black Dragons and Minotuars in succeeding rounds. Poor Black Dragons and Minotuars hehe :laugh:

Doone
Underdark: Black Dragon Lurker, Digester x2, Shadow Flayer, Darkmantle, Small Black Dragon x2, Delver Sergeant, Drow Assassin. Map: Field of Ruins
Stunned to death Galeb Duhrs and Blasted a lot of Farmers but lost to a championless group of evil creatures.

Drew
The Wild: Merchant Guard, Delver Sergeant, Wizard of Turmish x2, Eternal Blade, Storm Silverhand. Map: Broken Demongate
The Wizards were waylaid by Cultists and Earth Elementals before taking a third-round bye. Wala lang sa mood si Drew! :grin:

Mon
Civilization: Mercenary General, Thrall of Blackrazor, Exarch of Tyranny, Warhorse, Warforged Battle Champion, Infernal Armor, Sharn Redcloak x2. Map: ???
Blade Stormed through a charging Minotaur before being stopped by another Champion of Baphomet and finally crushed by a couple of Galeb Duhrs in the last round

Pao
Civilization: Champion of Baphomet, Thrall of Blackrazor, Warforged Battle Champion, Fire Archon, Delver Sergeant, Sharn Redcloak, Farmer x2, Goblin Runner. Map; ??
Went down from a Warhorse Iron Charge and then took a yosi break with a second-round bye before being acid-Blasted by Black Dragons. Tigil na kasi yosi hehe! :)

Borderlands: Eternal Blade, Galeb Duhr x2, Oni, Goblin Runner x3, Farmer x2. Map: Hellspike Prison
His rocks initially melted in a pool of acid but came back to crush Wizards on Carpets and knocked out an enforcer of evil from its mount. The Solamith and Soulrider are eternally happy that they avoided playing on Hellspike :laugh:

di na nila babaguhin yung current 2.0 stats. Nilagay lang nila yung mga "clarified" wordings sa statcards para mabawasan yung ambiguity sa ilang cards. Para mas madali na maintindihan at mbawasan yung mga errata. Good move ito in my opinion.

Busog naman si Thrall of Blackrazor mo sa mga Merchant Bodyguards ko hehe. Medyo nasa bingit na rin ng kamatayan sila Solamith (5hp left) at Soulrider Demon (25hp left) buti na lang hindi nakalampas kay Oni si Champion of Baphomet.

Bawi na lang next time pre hehe :laugh:

Malakas din pala talaga si Shadow Flayer. Kung tamaan ka ng Mind Blast that is... which was exactly what happened to my Gaseous Oni and Soulrider D. I got trigger-happy kasi with Solamith, dapat naeliminate na yung 10-hp Digester kung si Soulrider ang ginamit ko sa first activation... Buti na lang nandun si Skullcleave to the rescue :laugh:

Buti na lang do1 at hindi mo ginamit yung Shadowcloak ni Flayer at naging Invisible sya para hindi matarget ng charge ni Skullcleave. Perhaps nabuhay pa sya ng isang round to finish off Oni kung ganun!

Good news to those who have been victimized by a Tomebound Arcanist and Storm Silverhand (kasama na ako dun hehe :squareeye), once the 2009 Battle Rules take into effect (beta pa lang eh), the Confused condition will now be:

Confused
- Is Dazed.
- When affected creature starts its turn, roll 1d20 to determine the effects for that turn.

Roll Effect
1-5 >> Affected creature is Dominated this turn.
6-10 >> Affected creature cannot take actions this turn.
11-20 >> You control affected creature normally (though it is still Dazed).

So you now have 50% chance to control your Confused creature unlike dati na only 33% of the time lang which sucks bigtime. Yahoo hehe :laugh:

Line attack nga pla ni Small Black yung pumatay kay Oni ano... sayang talaga yung missed by 1 na charge attack ko kay Lurker. Dapat nga ginamit ko na yung Cold Blast ni Oni (nanghinayang kasi akong madamay si Farmer eh, namatay tuloy pareho hehe).

Morale of the story: sa sobrang fast-paced ng isang ddm game, dapat talaga gamitin na asap yung mga powers and abilities at baka maunahan pa.

Si Thrall of Blackrazor nga pala nabawasan ng kaunti yung power. Kung hindi mabbago yung Beta 2009 Battle Rules, hindi na pwede gumamit ng any Action after mag-charge (dati hindi lang pwede ang Move Action). So hindi na sya pwede mag-Haste-attack ulit after charging; attack na lang muna tapos Haste-charge. Minor inconvenience lang hehe :laugh:

yup, malki pa rin yung 50% chance na di mo mapapakinabangan yung creature mo so balanced lang. Maganda yung mga improvements ng Guild. Sana matagal na nila hinawakan yung ddm hehe :grin:

re:Thrall, tama yung ruling natin last sunday. Di pwede gamitin yung A New Thrall kapag Stunned si ToB kasi you can't use activated powers (keywords: Use when...) kapag inactive or helpless yung creature. So that's another way of shutting down the Thrall. Atsaka Radius 3 na Soulfire effective din mwuahahaha :laugh:

KHAN (Kung hindi ako nagkakamali :laugh:), sa May pa ang labas ng Dangerous Delves na set kasabay (or sa kalapit na month) nung Heroes: Series 1.

Tentative sched nung other sets:
PHB Heroes: Series 2 releases July 21.
Monster Manual: Legendary Evils (working title) releases August 18.
Monster Manual: Savage Encounters (working title) releases November 17

Tapos yung sa restats, this month dapat lalabas yung War Drums, followed by Underdark, Angelfire, Deathknell... every month na walang new set ay may lalabas na restat ng old sets. Ansaya hehe :grin:

anyways, I'll sell you the Bulette AND the Boneshard for P100 only. I would advise you from buying the Sphinx if playing skirmish is your aim (kasi di sya masyado magaling for me hehe) although if you're really into it I suggest we trade na lang para di affected ang budget :grin:

Call ako sa feb 14. Hatid/sundo ko si misis sa peyups that day and wala ako gagawin in the middle so might as well play hehe. Game tayo kahit fun play lang para relaks (pero kung gusto nyo tourney oks lang din). Di pa nga lang sumagot yung mga mokong sa txt ko last tuesday. Txt brigade ulit hehe.

Isama natin mga pokeboys do1 para makapagturo tayo while having fun. Wala muna power figs siguro. Tapos agahan natin. Kahit 10am para tapos tayo before 5pm (moving forward ganito na lang lagi timeslot natin para di tayo syado gabihin).

O paano, it's a date ha! :laugh:

We have a League kit available for this saturday, from the latest set Dangerous Delves if I remember correctly. Di pa released ang set na ito so tayo pa lang ang magkakaroon if ever :cool:

We will also give away free battle maps (while supplies last) to those new players who will participate.

Meeting time is 10am, Feb 14 para tapos tayo before 4 or 5pm
at NG Galleria as always
bring 100 pt fun warbands
bring a 200 pt warband also incase we make it a full-blown tourney

Ah... it's the Heneral on ze spotlight tonight! Probably the most-used Champion in last year's world championships, the Mercenary General helps not your warband through brute strength or damage-dealing capability but rather in the way he makes little people do big things with his Champion powers.

A must have in any Civilization player's toolbox, this Obi-wan look-alike is best used with Human Sellswords. :devious:

We'll be having a Valentine Brawl for this saturday's funplay at NG Galleria with this format as the main feature:

2 creatures max, 100 pts total
Faction and alignment will be followed
Multiple player combat in a single map
Battle to the death! :devious:

yes, you read that right: all players will play in a single map so rambulan ito hehe :laugh:

and since may kasama tayong newplayers (I'm looking at you Iron_Cowboy!), this will be a tag-team battle with vets paired up with rookies (great idea Cons!).

and since it's da season of love, let's bring extra pairs para may magamit yung mga players na wala pang figs. I would also like to ask you to bring 2 good uncommons to donate for the prize pool for the new players, para may seed na sila to make their own warbands. I will be donating a rare and an uncommon.

May mas masaya pa ba na way to learn how to play ddm? :grin::grin::grin:

the battle royal starts at exactly 10:30am, to give us enough time to take a bath before our evening dates hehe :laugh:

And of course, you can bring your regular 100pt and 200pt warbands din (i'll be bringing mine!)

The idea is, matututo ka using these 2 figs para afterwards magamit mo na ng maayos yung 100 and 200 pt bands mo :grin:

At bibigyan ka namin ng map!

I'm excited to try out the tag-team battle... parang Arena sya na instead na 1 player controlling 4 figs ay you have 2 people controlling 2 creatures each. With those two people controlling 2 creatures that may not share a common faction with each other, andaming warband building possibilities to explore and exploit :devious:

And a lot of potential asaran to be had hehe :laugh:

We played, we traded (figs and insults alike :laugh:) and had tons of fun kanina at NG. Great to finally meet you Alvin and welcome to ddm, Pao! On to the battle report...

The teams:

The Iron Pusher
with Alvin using Iron Dragon Prowler and Dire Bear Mauler and Dags using two Elf Arcane Archers

The Harry Potter look alikes
with Pao using Skullcleave Warrior and Solamith and Doone with Stormrage Blue Dragon and Rikka,

The Number 10 (mukha kasi silang #10 pag nakatayo sila magkatabi :laugh:)
with Charl using Cloaktrick Rogue and Virtuous Charger and CJ with the Ettin Spirit Talker and Care Bear
Using

Round 1
The HPs threw a Lightning Burst and Soulfire blast, courtesy of the Blue Dragon and Solamith respectively, right into #10's start area, damaging Ettin, Rogue, and V-Charger. Team 10 replied by wandering aimlessly towards the other end of the map (with no ranged attack and hindi kasi magkasundo yung 2 ulo ng Ettin :laugh:). Team Iron Pusher shot the Solamith and Blue Dragon with wall-piercing Phase Arrows to let them know who's incharge. The Iron Dragon and Dire Bear move to attacking positions for next round.

Round 2
Winning initiative, angry Solamith shot back at the Elf Arcane Archer with a Soulfire radius 3 attack which also damaged the Iron Dragon. The Sola then hid behind a wall for safety (or so they thought hehe). Team 10 continues to advance toward the Harry Potters. Alvin's Dire Bear charges the Skullcleave for 20 damage. The Iron Dragon with 35hp remaining after the Soulfire blast then flies away to safety before the Skullcleave could move in and kill it with an auto-crit. Pao's Skullcleave evades the Dire Bear's attack of opportunity and charges the 45hp Elf Arcane Archer (EAA) with an auto-crit instead, leaving it with only 5hp left. The other EAA then went on the hunt and found the 40hp Solamith's big butt sticking out of the corner of a wall. The EAA's Longbow attack results in a very very lucky crit! Dead Solamith! Team 10's Virtuous Charger got too close to the Stormrage Blue Dragon and got eaten alive.

Round 3 onwards
Rikka decides to enter the battlefield to heal the Skullcleave Warrior and kill the 5hp EAA in one activation. Heal succeeded but attack missed. The two EAAs then combined with Steel Rain and Longbow attacks to send Rikka out of the map again! The Dire Bear continues to chase after the Warrior, hoping to render it immobilized with 2 attacks. First misses but the second attack crits. The Iron Dragon then finally comes out of hiding and kills the Skullcleave with a Sneak Attack! Team 10's Ettin finally got its act together and combined with the Cloaktrick Rogue to trap Pao and Do1's Blue Dragon in a corner with 5hp left.

Then the unthinkable happened :laugh:. Team 10 agreed to form an alliance with the HP clones against Alvin and Dags! Kapit sa patalim na talaga sina Do1, Pao, CJ, at Charl kasi namatayan na sila ng major figs while Team Iron Pusher is still complete (although bloodied). In succeeding activations the Blue Dragon, Ettin, Cave Bear, and Rogue gangbanged the 95hp Dire Bear Mauler to death in just one round! The 5hp EAA luckily survived two attacks from the Blue Dragon and killed it with an arrow at point-blank range, eliminating Do1 and Pao from the game. The other EAA killed the two-headed Ettin at long-range but was later attacked by the Cloaktrick Rogue and Cave Bear, leaving it down to two hits remaining. Alvin's Iron Dragon Prowler then came to the rescue, killing the Cave Bear and Rogue using flanking charges with sneak attack and the Lightning Field special power. Alvin and Dags win! :cool:

Haaaay that was fun :grin:

Next stop: 100pt sealed booster tourney this Feb 21!

had a blast playing DDM yesterday!, Happy Valentines for all those critical hits that we rolled. :laugh:

first ddm tourney, panalo pa, but of course with the help of my master, Count pusher! its like sith's rule of two, the master and the apprentice.:cool:

thanks pusher, it was a valentines day to remember! i just thought of using care bear mauler and the iron dragon, its like a melee and a range attacker, just like a tactic in heroclix that i have learned....:)

its like a melee and a range attacker, just like a tactic in heroclix that i have learned....:)
Having played Heroclix is definitely a plus when playing ddm. Like in clix, having a good balance of melee and ranged threats makes for an effective and strong ddm warband. Use the map, rulebook, and the skirmish figs that you got last sat to play with a friend and learn more first-hand the tricks and tactics employed in ddm.

Pinipilit namin maging as painless as possible ang pagpasok ng new players sa ddm. One big concern kasi ng new players ay yung price. Halos comparable naman ang gastos sa ddm sa ibang games pero not all new players know that. Kaya maraming freebies kami ibibigay sa mga newbies (well hanggang kaya pa namin :laugh:), atleast enough para naman masubukan nila yung game without spending too much until such time na magdecide na sila to buy a booster of their own.

Yung fun factor naman will make itself evident once they play an actual game so no need to make extra effort for that :grin:

Ill try to play on Feb 28, i want to use Voracious Ice Devil this time!

Gents, our scheduled 100 pt Demonweb sealed booster tournament will push through this Saturday Feb21 at NG Galleria with our two newest players Rannie and Pao attending. Rebel master do1 will be judging the event.

For those who are looking at getting into D&D minis, this is a very good time to join as you will be playing with other new players and you'll have the chance to get extra figs from the prize booster(s) which will be drafted away by all the participants and not just the winner.

In addition to that, first-time players will be given a free map and printed battle rules. The free maps are in limited supply so first-come first-serve na lang. Games start at 10.30am and will probably not extend past 5pm so you'll still have time to do other stuff in the evening.

For questions and suggestions, please send me or do1 a pm and we'll answer you as soon as we can. So wag na magdalawang isip, sali na! :grin::grin::grin:

Biruin mo Iron Dragon Prowler plus Dire Bear Mauler in one Demonweb booster tapos Voracious Ice Devil at huge rare na Yuan-Ti Abomination sa Against the Giants tapos Nightmare and Yuan-Ti Malison, Drow Blademaster sa Desert of Desolation... kung hindi good skirmish fig (VID, Prowler, Bear, Nightmare) or huge rare (2 out of 9 chances per case) eh yung matagal mo nang hinahanap (Malison) ang nakukuha mo. Next time sayo ako magpapabili ng booster ha :laugh:

For this upcoming sealed tourney, be advised that we will be using the DDM Guild 2009 Battle Rules available for download using the link in my sig. It is in a very easy to read format that is very friendly to new players.

We'll also have 5 copies of the 2009 Battle Rules reproduced in booklet form to give away with the Broken Demon Gate map for the first-time players. The tournament-legal Broken Demon Gate map can be used in full for 200 pt play or folded in half to make two distinct maps for 100 pt and Arena play.

So with the map, rules, and minis from the sealed booster, new players won't need a starter set anymore to get into this game :)

Ok, time to join this saturday na boys...it's a sealed event and no matter what happens, we all win in the end kahit anong placing you land pa in that tournament.
Besides, we now have an excuse to buy a Dnd booster ..we all get good figs from the booster we get at may xtra pang freebies after the game. That what makes sealed tourneys fun. :grin:
So for those really wanting to join and have some great Dnd experience this is a terrific time to be at this Saturday.

Nakakatuwa nga yung ginagawang conversion ng old ddm figs from 1.0 to 2.0, yung mga near-worthless noon ay nagkakaroon ng second chance at being skirmish-viable ngayon.

Kung dati siguro roughly 55% ng figs per set ay hindi competitively viable sa skirmish (kasi they were meant for the rpg group), ngayon siguro ay mga around 5-10% na lang.

Even the weenies got a large boost! Skeletal Legionnaire - for 4 pts, adjacent allies get +2ac!

This makes me more excited about the upcoming new products which will be stat-ed by the DDM Guild, those same guys who are doing the ddm1.0 to 2.0 conversions for wotc now.

Jumps_Zilla here is a veteran player from the DDM1.0 days and he hails from Cebu. He is very trustworthy and I have had a couple of successful trades with him, both long-distance and face-to-face.

Fellow players, if you need anything from his list, I suggest we organize so that we can buy in bulk to save on freight and to make sure we get the figs that we need. I, myself, upon inviting Jumps to this forum have already reserved the CG package. Jumps is selling his minis at a very low price and we do not want to buy these same stuff at twice or triple the cost from those whose only purpose is not aligned with growing the community of ddm players here.

Really had fun playing last sat although I really had no intention of playing gulat na lang ako pagdating ko pinalaro ako no do1 hehe.

Got luck and was able to pull off 2 wins but lost to the champ charlon galing talaga hehe. The booster I donated contained a web golem which I took home din.

All in all the event was a success and congrats to the newbies who joined and performed well kita kits na alng ulit sa next tourney

The DDM Sealed Torny last Sat was a BLAST especially to our 3 new guys (with very pleasing skills) and not to forgot Charlon who owned all his opponents with a handicapped warband(no rare)

Highlights of the event

1st "The Handicapped Champ"
Charlon winning 3-0 with no Rare...nkakagulkat yub Scythe Jaw mo pre!

2nd "The GIFTED"--->with lots of Critical Hits in all 3 games!!!
Pao winning 3-0 with very Great pulls...Draegloth favored One, Warforged Battle Captain

Eto na detailed battle report ko:

Pulls -
Rare: Dragonborn Paladin (38)
Uncommon: Mezzodemon (42), Scythejaw (27?), uhh yung isang Drake (?)
Common: Lolthbound Goblin (8?), Trog Brute (20), Crazed Kuo Toa (14?) and... Human Bandit (5)!

Team: Mezzodemon, Scythejaw, Lolthbound Goblin, and Trog Brute = 97 pts

Decided to go for this team para may synergy kunware. Mezzodemon can impale enemies to immobilize them, then Scythejaw gains combat advantage against immobilized enemies. Lolthbound gains +5 dmg against poisoned enemies, which is possible thanks to Mezzodemon's poison cloud. Trog Brute reduces attack by 2, effectively giving Mezzodemon 29 AC and Scythejaw 27 AC yehey! Decent din naman ang HP and 14 Bite attack niya.

Map: Kinuha ni cons starter map ko, so gamit ko ay half a Dwarven Outpost haha

Round 1 vs Al / Gino:
Team: Yuan-Ti Malison, A Bugbear, Trog Brute, and a Sharn Redcloak

I win map choice. Scythejaw starts in the middle of the map and is immediately attacked by the Bugbear, he missed. Both the Sharn and Yuan-Ti make a range attack against the Scythejaw, and only the Yuan-Ti connects (all his attacks are against Ref, and I have low defenses). Meanwhile, my slow figures position themselves for the next round. My Scythejaw attacks but misses.

Next round: Yuan-Ti hits again, this time against my Mezzodemon. My Scythejaw on the other hand lands a critical on the Bugbear, then a follow-up from the Mezzodemon finished it off. His Trog Brute decides to protect the Yuan-Ti and not attack, while the Sharn tries another shot against my Mezzo but misses. My Goblin blasts the three, but I forgot which figures got hit, then nag-away yung dalawang Trog Brute.

Next round, Sharn and Trog Brute double team my Goblin for the KO. Yuan-Ti dominates my Trog Brute but is wasted. Then my Scythejaw and Mezzo charge in to kill his Trog Brute. Somewhere there, I also managed to use Poison cloud to knock out the Sharn, leaving the Yuan-Ti alone against my Trog, Mezzo and Scythe. Win!

Round 2 vs JB
Team: Blood Slaad, Souldevil Rider? (basta spellcaster), A Bugbear, Sharn, and a Lolthbound Goblin.

He wins map choice and uses crossroads. The Souldevil blasts my Mezzo from across the map. Again, my slow figures wastes the first round getting close. His figures hang back, far enough not to be charged. Next round, Souldevil recharges and blasts Mezzo and Trog, buti nag miss kay Mezzo. Blood Slaad and Sharn double team my Mezzo for about three/four rounds, but only managed to get him bloodied (missed).

Meanwhile, my Scythejaw was able to charge the Souldevil, then gets blasted by my Goblin, dropping it to 10hp, rendering it unable to recharge! Souldevil uses his large cone attack before dying, and includes the Bugbear in the blast. His Goblin then finished off my Goblin.

Mezzo manages to use Poison cloud against the Blood Slaad and Sharn, tapos pinagtulungan na ni Scythejaw and Trog yung Blood Slaad to kill it. The bloodied Bugbear was the next target, leaving the Goblin alone against the three melee fighters. Win!

Round 3 vs Chris
Team: Bearded Devil, Drake na lumilipad, Kruthik?, Lolthbound Goblin, and Human Bandit, parang may kulang not sure.

I win map choice, stupidly, I agree on setting the victory area beside a wall haha So buong araw na nakapwesto dun yung Drake. Luckily wala rin siyang range, so pareho kaming naglakad papuntang gitna. Chris extends a bait in the form of a human bandit, and I take it with my Mezzo. Bearded charges Mezzo for 15 and 5 ongoing. Then gets surrounded by the Kruthik and the Goblin. My Scythejaw charges the bearded devil for 25 (combat advantage), and immobilizes him for the rest of the game (Chris couldn't save haha).

Next round, luckily, Chris lets me go first, so nakapag Poison Cloud uli si Mezzo (immune si Scythejaw), misses against Bearded devil but at least I got him to take 10 ongoing. Bearded devil and the rest of his guys beat up Mezzo, leaving him bloodied (recharging Poison cloud). My Goblin and Trog charge towards the Kruthik for the kill, and his Goblin activates and dies. So that leaves him with Bearded devil and the flying drake, and he's up by about 20 victory points at this point.

Next few rounds, all my guys keep missing against the Bearded Devil, even Mezzo. Eventually, I got him bloodied, and he kills Mezzo at this point. I surround him with my 3 remaining figures, and by this time nasa 60+ points na siya thanks to the flying drake haha He goes after my Trog, buti makunat. Trog managed to bite the devil, and Scythe managed another 25 dmg. Next round, I attack again with Scythe to finally KO the devil, and land on the victory area for the 100 points yehey!

Sinwerte lang, thanks for the nice games guys. And to Do1 for swaying the games in my favor haha joke. If it had gone on to a 4th round, I probably would have been beaten by the Draegloth haha

Mukhang close ang labanan with both sides maneuvering and throwing and taking blows until that moment na mag-tip na to one side ang balance and you would think it's game over until suddenly may one or two attacks na nag-miss or your opponent makes a wrong decision and suddenly may chance pa ulit to win and then... haay these are the things na gusto ko sa ddm, it's balanced enough na walang isang dominating warband (lalo na sa sealed) and everybody with the right skill has a fair chance of winning :)

Nice work also on maximising the synergy na mapipiga sa pulls mo! Daming insights na mapupulot on how you built your warband.

Ang tanong... maita-translate kaya ito ni Charl sa constructed? hmmm :devious:

Ngayong successfully concluded na ang ating sealed tournament, it's time na ulit para sa constructed! So anong mga units ang gusto nyo subukan sa Wardrums? Ako...

Arcane Ballista - long-range artillery ulit na accurate at masakit tumama with 30dmg pag may katabing Wizard/Arcane unit with 15 splash damage! tapos kaya na nya tumira after moving di tulad ng dati yum yum

Aspect of Moradin - 30ac, 95hp (LG na LG ang dating), can deal 25dmg at Reach 2, with Cleave, at pwede rin at Range 10! Anti-Giant pa plus his Champ Powers can grant additional 10dmg. All Star ito and I'm wondering bakit wala masyado gumagamit sa kanya eh ang lakas naman?

Hill Giant Barbarian - melee monster that can deal up to 45dmg (!) per attack tapos may Giant Stride pa sya to get him faster to within attacking range para macounter yung Furious Spirit nya

Brass Samurai - dumadami ang attacks when Bloodied, may Line attack with auto-damage on a miss and the best of all, yung Champion Power nya na kaya padamihin yung targets ng isang melee attack ng isng ally (tulad ni Aspect of Moradin or Hill Giant Barbarian hehe).

Sacred Watcher - i think may 3 or 4 ako ng mga multong ito. Gagana pa kaya ang SWarm?

But for me the best collection would always be the characters from the Icewind Dale Trilogy namely Drizzt, Wulfgar, Bruenor, Gwenwyvar and Artemis Entreri!!! With these figs you can tell yourself that you are complete. :grin: (uhhh, I have them all na pla...tignan mo nga naman yan o:laugh:)

Anyone of you guys interested in playing DnD skirmish online? There is this thing called "Vassal" where anyone with internet connection can play ddm with players from around the globe. Very useful for people whose nearest ddm playmate is atleast a hundred kilometers away. Like me hehe.

You not only get to play, you also get to watch other players and chat with them. Good for learning tactics from great players overseas (abangan mo nga lang yung timezone nila). Meron din campaign (the Eternal Campaign) if that is more your thing. Pwede rin gamitan ng Skype para menos ang pag-type sa keyboard.

I have not used Vassal for a while due to time constraints. Just sharing with you ddm players incase you are interested.

I think a DDM Guild article on how to use Vassal is forthcoming. They are also looking into setting up an ONLINE League - regular tournaments held online. As to why the story became so convoluted after war of the twins, its because of the 4th book of the war of the lance "trilogy", that is:

This is not confirmed, but I heard that Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman were told that they were legally obliged to make a fourth book in their contract. Because they were forced to do that by the lawyers, they killed off a lot of their characters in the succeeding books. Everyone is dead na - Tanis, Caramon, Caramon's sons, etc. etc.

But I see no reason why they should not make the other characters from Dragonlance. And I would imagine that draconians would be fun army characters to have :grin: Maybe, if you kill a draconian, the character who makes the kill suffers minus 10 damage.

You're very close. Actually they made 2 draconians in the second DnD Minis booster "Dragoneye." IIRC the Kapak Draconian's body bursts upon death and deals acid damage to adjacent creatures while the Baaz Draconian turns into a statue when killed.

yes Strahd is from ravenloft and so is Van Richten. On a side note for those who did not know even though Lord Soth is from dragonlance he made an appearance sa ravenloft:

The Mists of Ravenloft plucked Soth and Caradoc from Krynn while the two battled. His soul was brought to the domain of Barovia; wanting to return to Krynn, Soth sought out Strahd von Zarovich, the ruler of the domain, in the hope Strahd would help him. Strahd tried to use Soth to his advantage but this only cost him a red dragon which was one of his castle guardians. After a series of adventures with the Vistani girl, Magda, and the were-badger Azrael Dak, Soth had found out that Strahd was hiding Caradoc from him. Soth attacked Strahd unceasingly and the vampire had no choice but to release Caradoc in order to keep his domain in one piece. Soth then pursued Caradoc until he finally caught him at the edge of the mists.

Soth was then given the domain Sithicus ("land of spectres" in the elven tongue) in Ravenloft by the Mists who stole his vengeance on Caradoc. His new castle, Nedragaard Keep (Solamnic, meaning: "that is not Dargaard"), was made as mockery of Dargaard in Krynn with a continually changing form so Soth could not maintain the military order he was accustomed to. During the Grand Conjunction he briefly returned to his Krynn body.

Soth's experiences in Sithicus had changed him only slightly. Throughout his time in the Dread Realm, Soth found himself entering mirror worlds, each which contained a portion of his past. Through these he lived in worlds of fantasy, ignoring the world beyond his keep. It is believed that his refusal to both face his sins and past and willingly suffer his curse led to his release from the Mists; that Soth simply withdrew and ignored Sithicus until he was released.

The story of his ascension is told in Knight of the Black Rose, the story of his temporary release is told in World of Krynn, and the story of his final release is told in Spectre of the Black Rose.

A teleporting Arcane Ballista can make a pincushion out of your units if you let it prance around unmolested for a couple of rounds. That construct should be swarmed asap! Buti na lang nasilaw sa bait yung Thoon Hulk and nawalan si Ballista ng bouncer hehe! Pao has learned to keep his units within supporting-distance next time.

Solar is still so hard to make an effective warband out of in ddm2.0. Not even his cute little Halfling Archers could save is astral buttocks hehe. Still, that Slaying Arrow is scary!

Draegloths from Demonweb are not called "Favored Ones" for nothing, specially when they have a friend Rakshasa Baron in tow (5x Radius 5 attacks ftw!). I tried to avoid him at all cost and kill the rest of the warband para di magamit yung Burning Sting. My warband got hammered by i think 4 Radius 5 area-attacks in the meantime. The game was down to between the Rakshasa Baron vs Syreth and 2 Sacred Watchers when time was called. Rak would've killed Syreth for the win next round. Close game Mon!

Oh, and I also learned that Insulares is a lawyer! Cool! :grin:

Battle Report, para di ako magkaron ng alam-mo-na.

(Konsensya, pare, konsensya)

Dags got my warband right: (Evil Civilization) Rakshasa Baron, Thrall of Blackrazor, Draegloth Favored One, Valiant Cavalry, Kobold Monk, Goblin Runner.

Map was the wonderful Blue Dragon Lair I got from the raffle in January's first tournament (along with the Gargantuan Blue Dragon, of course. And the Black one, too. :))

And that map made all the difference when I fought do1 in my first round. He forwarded his Black Dragon Lurker, thinking it was safe from ranged attacks after I bombed his Shadow Flayer and two Digesters with the Draegloth Favored One (hit the Illithid and one Digester). A Mind Twist from the Rakshasa Baron and the Lurker had 20 damage and was Dazed as well.

It's not as bad as "Target player discards X cards at random." (c'mon Type 1 players!) but it did the job. A Hasted charge from the Thrall of Blackrazor had the Lurker down to 10, and dead next round with the Thrall at 90hp and Haste recharged.

So, by the first turn of the second round I had effectively taken out the piece that made do1's band so deadly (I believe Pao knows this very well). Sorry do1, seems like I got your number again with the Lurker, like at the Epic tournament we had. Should I add "Bane of Black Dragons" to my sig? :grin:

The key to my warband is not just the radius 5 Unholy Blight of the Draegloth Favored One, but the fact that it brings the Dazed condition. I saw this work well in the Sealed Demonweb tournament with the Tiefling Cleric of Asmodeus and Drow Demonbinder. Aside from the Favored One, the Rakshasa Baron also has an unlimited source of Dazed (at +19, nonetheless) with his Mind Twist range attack.

The Baron's Champion Powers allows a quick recharge of the Favored One's Unholy Blight, without having it get Bloodied first. Alternatively, it can recharge the Thrall's Haste. :noid:

So, with the Lurker out, it was just managing the Flayer and Digesters with Dazed. Since do1 hid them behind a wall at the start, they could not get to melee immediately, as being Dazed only allowed them to make a move action or attack (but there's no target).

That is where the Blue Dragon Lair map made such a difference. Enough cover, but still reachable with the Favored One's radius 5 attack.

On to round 3, as I got pulled for BYE in the second round.

Not getting my map when I fought Dags was not such a big thing. It was my failure to pilot the warband really well, particularly the Rakshasa Baron.

Remember the +19 unlimited Dazed Mind Twist range attack I mentioned earlier? It failed me on the first round as I couldn't roll a 10 to hit the aggressively positioned Cloaktrick Rogue. Parang ako yung nagdiscard ng X cards at random. :laugh:

Later on, because of that experience, I passed on trying to hit the Cloaktrick Rogue again and instead used my +21 melee attack to finish a nearby Sacred Watcher. Dang, that Insubstantial really sucks. My 15 damage reduced to 5. Needed to use a 75 point figure to finish off an 18 point figure with 5hp left. :ermm:

I would have been better off concentrating on taking down the 58-point harbinger of death(!) called the Cloaktrick Rogue. :devious:

Maybe later on I would have gotten that one extra shot at the Cleric of Syreth to win the game (I had 40 Assault VP already).

Oh, well. :disappointed:

To his credit, Dags made good use of the Sacred Watchers by adding in the Militia Archer that gave them an effective +12 attack with its Champion Power. This, plus the fact that the Watchers targeted Defense (of which my warband had no higher than 23). Oh, he also scored a critical hit on my Rakshasa Baron late in the game.

Best moment for me was to charge and kill the pesky Militia Archer (who, along with the Cloaktrick Rogue, had just been hit by Unholy Blight and therefore Dazed) with with my Valiant Cavalry, ending just a square away from the Rogue. Since the Rogue was Dazed, it could only move and not attack (no adjacent enemy) or charge (enemy only one square, not two, away) and that saved my Valiant Cavalry for a round.

Moments like that are what makes this game so great.

Aside from a first-turn radius 5 Unholy Blight bomb. :cheeky:

It was fun. Hope to see you guys next Saturday.

Nice game Mon! And nice move on the Valiant Cav. Nadaan ako sa technicality dun ah! The Thrall went down relatively easy (no match sya sa Undead hehe) pero ansakit sa ulo nung Draegloth and Rakshasa Baron! Draegloth has Burning Sting that makes you think twice before attacking it and da Baron has Conceal 11 when it gets Bloodied. Hirap patayin hehe! Makes me think twice tuloy if pakakawalan ko yung Rak Baron ko or gamitin ko na muna lang sya sa next tourneys :devious:

We went back to Galleria after the swm tourney and what did I find... 4 adult men engaging in consensual...you know what! :speechles

yes: they were playing multiplayer Arena in a single battlemap! 4 players, with 4 figures each playing in a single map.

there were 2 Draegloth Favored Ones and two Thralls (both on separate teams), a Vampire Vizier with a Deathpriest of Orcus (eventual survivors of the battle), Tordek and Bruenor (they died early hehe), a rakshasa baron, and a Griffon rider whats-her-name.

after one of the four players was eliminated, the other two formed an alliance against the dominating warband. long story short, the allied warbands still got eaten alive by the Undead warband piloted by JB! Fun games. sana nakasali ako hehe :grin:

Perhaps in the upcoming months we can structure our monthly organized play like this, para merong diversity ang ating ddm play experience:

Week 1: Open Fun Format - can be anything: Capture the Flag, Kill the VIP, Hostage Rescue...anything! :laugh:
Week 2: Arena - constructed 200 pts, 4 figs max match in a small map
Week 3: Major Tournament - either 200pt constructed, Epic, or Sealed
Week 4: Royale Rumble - multiplayers w/ 4 figs each in a single map

Everyone in favor of this raise you right hand!

Pretty soon mauubos na rin yung crappy repaints wotc gives away for league kits. So why can't we make our own?

Here's the deal boys and girls (kung nababasa ito ng mga fellow players natin, bahala na hehe :laugh:):
1. We vote for the rares that we want as part of the prize pool
2. We buy online (or where-ever) the top 12 among the voted rares
3. We have these 12 rares repainted locally (by Master Mike)
4. We'll have one of these uniquely-painted rares (chosen randomly) as additional prize in our Major Monthly Tourney, like a trophy
5. We'll share the total cost of these repainted rares which will be distributed throughout the year as a portion of the entrance fee in our tourneys

So the winner of our monthly major tourney will not only take home a guaranteed good rare, he will also take home a one-of-its-kind hand-painted rare! And I'm not talking about just any other repaint. Pag nakita nyo yung works ni Mike ay matutulala kayo sa ganda! This is on top of our regular booster for prize-draft.

It's now official: WotC "fixed" the supposedly "broken" Draegloth Favored One and toned-down a few notches its sight-ranged burst to Radius 2 from Radius 5.

Ano ang balak mo isama sa Blackguard on Nightmare LocalMultiplay?

If I were to play Arena now, siguro susubukan ko na si Arcane Ballista (death from afar), Hill Giant Barbarian (death in-your-face) plus Brass Samurai (death in-your-face, multiplied) and one other fig that I haven't thought of yet :grin:

The HGB will charge in and smack everyone within reach of his club. The Brass Sam champion power will allow the HGB to attack multiple targets instead of only one. The Ballista shall ping away from a safe distance hehe.

Problema lang, wala pa akong Brass Samurai ngayon.

Guys sabihin nyo din kung ano sa mga rares available ang gusto nyo na prize para sa ating mga tournaments and fun games.

Bibilihin namin ang mga ito para sa group at isasama na lang natin sa entrance fee yung cost. Siguraduhin nyo lang na sasali kayo sa mga games natin hehe :D

So if you don't have the budget to buy all the rares that you want, atleast may chance ka pa rin na makuha ito sa mga fun games and tournaments!

Si Lich Necromancer is from Giants of Legend. Medyo matatagalan pa ang 2.0 stats nito (after Underdark, Angelfire, Deathknell, and Aberrations pa) pero I bet pareho silang Underdark faction ni Nightmare so pwede sya sumakay.

From his 1.0 stats, He's probably stronger than the Mindflayer Lich.

By December Mickey might send another batch of maps, yung laminated naman. Pero before nun, we'll have tarpaulin-printed maps for tourney prize or sale.

we had a freeplay last night here at our canteen, many co workers appreciate the sculpts of DDM, they said much better plastic than Heroclix, they loved the iron dragon prowler very much and the storm giant thunderer! ang lalaki kasi tapos yun pa ang unang bumagsak, :grin:!

we made a triple threat match! my fave dwarves led by dwarf warlord, champion of dol dorn and dwarf shieldmaiden vs. wild 1 led by iron dragon prowler, papa dire bear mauler and elf arcane archer vs. the wild 2 led by storm giant thunderer and almost forgot the other 2.

champion of dol dorn was easily smack down in the middle by the group effort of the giant and the elf (lakas talaga ng phase arrow!), the giant was a hard to hit, nah! the giant was easily hammered down by the two dwarves, while the dragon and the bear were waiting for a final slash of claw!

in the end of the battle, those who went near the dragon and activated were struck by the lightning field special power of the dragon, easy win for my friend gelo, the elf arcane archer, just went on recharging and firing like theres no wall and tomorrow against the dwarves and the other two wild faction.

to sum it up, my fave dwarves lose and they like DDM, hehehehe!!!! ang bilis ng laro! at ang sarap ng may hawak na dragon at giant!:devious:

as far as i know, 160 each ang booster x 24 sa isang box ata so nasa 3840 plus 10 to 15 percent discount ata, depende sa store...

i also had the interest of playing WoWtcg, kaso dami nang games baka mabaliw na ko, :laugh::laugh::laugh:!

also saw some special starters ata tawag don, before nasa 1200 then 600 now 300 na lang!

Sayang lang at di kayo available most saturdays. Minsan magsched tayo ng sunday para naman ma-meet din namin sila and play with them.

Or perhaps pre you could set-up a mini-tournament dyan sa inyo. Since they like the DDM sculpts so much perhaps we could have repaints of rares for prize trophies like yung gagawin natin sa mga tournaments natin sa galleria :grin: Good work on spreading the joys of DDM pre!

And to get there we have to build up our local community first. Hopefully our organized play will attract new players into the game. Once they get to know DDM naman the game will be able to sell itself with minimal help from us vets.

But if you guys have any other suggestions on how to electrify the ddm scene here sa atin please don't hesitate to speak up!

Speaking of electricity, we had another high-voltage tourney kanina with six players in attendance. Do1 led the field after tie-breakers by besting 2 other guys with 3-1 records. He won a shiny new Bearded Devil rare, the very useful Farmer and a few other figs that has already escaped my puny feeble mind :laugh:

Fellow DDM Maniacs, salamat ulit sa mga naglaro last saturday! And in preparation for our abstinence from playing this coming Lenten season (2 weeks na lang! bakasyon nanaman hehe!), our format for these next two weeks will be...
