Arcadian Hippogrif is ok because it is the only martial mount (mount for Drizzt)....

Solar has an attack that eliminates a creature... medyo quezo but definitely playable

Heard somewhere na babalik na ang Summoning ability starting with the Savage Encounters minis.

If may summoning ability rin sa Archfiends (malamang malabo kasi dati pa nagawa yung stats dito), better find one or two Evermeet Wizards :devious:

New Item Cards (http://www.ddmguild.com/downloads/revised/cards/TT-02.pdf) are now available. As expected, many items focusing on addressing current concerns in the game like mitigating effects (damage or condition) of first-turn start-area bombing and removing keywords(an attempt to un-ban EB if this said item gets used frequently, perhaps?).

Other notable items are the "Amulet of the Titans" (6-pt recharging Shrug Off Pain effect for Borderlands Levels 15-20) and the Thieves' Gloves (give your Civ Stealth fig a Loot ability).

What I dislike though is the layout. :ermm: Check 'em out and see if you think these are worth the effort of leaving some points open in your warband construction. ;)

Guys,

The sealed tourney has been rescheduled this November as there was no quorum yesterday.

I would like to inform you that Galeb Dur and Hill Giant Barbarian have been banned for the tourney.

The boosters has been generated and we are good to go. I would like to Thank Iron_Cowboy for providing extra cards for the said boosters.

Entrance Schemes are the following:
1.) Php 150- 200 per player.
2.) Php 50 + Php 100-150 worth of fig/s
3.) Php 150-200 worth of figs
These figs will be added to the prize draft, the more the merrier.

Entrance for the tourney are for the prizes and venue if ever.

Let us make them feel that our community is still alive.

I would like to know what day is better for you guys, Sat (afternoon) or Sunday (am or afternoon). This is to better organize our community for upcoming events as well.

I would also like to know if you guys are still interested in this format. If there are none, then I will just have to cancel this. Kindly holler.

Namimiss ko na magbukas ng random booster at maglaro ng sealed/draft. The entrance fee is not mabigat sa bulsa and lets you dispose of the figs that you have no time to play with sa dami ng mga viable stats ngayon.

Eid'l Adha, which falls on November 27 and 28, is a regional holiday that applies only to the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) clarified Friday.

Labor Secretary Marianito Roque issued the clarification as he stressed the two days are not to be observed as holidays throughout the country.

"As a result of Proclamation No. 1808-A, the pay rules for regular holidays will not apply during the said dates except in ARMM," he advised the country's employers.

Roque said the new issuance effectively amended the earlier Proclamation No. 1808 issued last April 21, which had declared November 28 and 29 this year as national holidays.

In effect, he added, there will only be three holidays nationwide this November by virtue of the earlier Presidential Proclamation No. 1699 issued on December 24, 2008.

These include All Saints' Day as a special non-working day on November 1; the additional special non-working day on November 2; and Bonifacio Day as a regular holiday on November 30.

Archfiends Stats (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/DDM_03ARC2_Skirm.zip) are now up! Lot of pretty interesting synergies, and of course, Summoning returns. :cool:

It's hard, though, how you have to be prepared to spend a lot for many of the figs here, if you decide that the stats for those you don't have are up your alley.

I fear more for the Harbinger figures once their stats come out.:confused::confused::confused:
Buti na lang I still have 1 or 2 Greycloaks! mwuahaha! I think they have one of the better restats in Archfiends, along with the Evermeet Wiz :cool:

But despite the cool summoner stats, at first glance parang wala akong nakitang game-changers that would push the other sets into obsolescence. So those with no AF can still stay competitive even if they choose not to add any AF creatures in their warbands. Good for our pockets and great for the game! :)

Well, not into obsolescence, but you do have to admit an Arcane Ambushing Hill Giant with WEW, 2 G-cloaks and Badgers for 151 pts only (or so), or a Hill Giant doing insane damage with Wulfgar while having bodyguards is a build worth preparing for (heck why not 2 of those big goons). ;)

But seriously, I think that the restats in this set helped to fill good alternatives though, for many point slots, and could fill certain niche areas that some players may have found missing in their builds before. So it doesn't actually push sets into obsolescence but on the contrary, made some figs in the other sets even better. Acquiring such figs though, well...:ermm:

Anyway, I finally found a way to make horses fly in Borderlands. :devious::devious::devious:

So will we be seeing your Halfling band soon, pre? :p

So will we be seeing your Halfling band soon, pre? :pparang underwhelmed ako kay Halfling Ranger eh, pero di ko pa naman masyado natitignan talaga at baka naman may synergy there somewhere na pwede ma-exploit. Yung Halfling Wiz is decent enough pero silang dalawa probably won't be enuf to replace the Clawfoot Rider, a mini that I don't have.

Buuuuuut..... mahilig naman ako sa underdogs warbands so I'll still probably give it a try pa rin pag nagthemed games tayo:devious:

Ang alam ko kahit invis pwede pa rin tamaan ng mga Blast at Radius attacks without any additional penalties (map square kasi ang target, not yung creature) so pwedeng pwede paliguan ng apoy ni Soulrider Devil si invis WFCaptain!

Well, if you're gonna buy by the booster then might as well get 'em anyway. The contents of those boosters ain't gonna change whether the stats are out or not ;)

But I know that the visibles matter though, if you're gonna buy just a few. If you're more of a theme-band player though, or prefer a certain faction, then might as well buy those boosters whose visible figure would most probably fit into your preferred band-types. ;)

Oi...medyo alangan ako sa sealed (wa pambili hehe) pero pag may constructed magbalita lang kayo ha? Tintry ko nang masingit sa mga kaabalahan ko para makasali hehe.

Basta request lang na pag full maps i-todo na natin sana max 10acts para magamit din yung mga fodder pieces. If quick game ang habol (Arena), half-map na lang para mabilis talaga. :classic:

Sayang din, sa mga parating na ibang SE pieces, baka medyo mabawasan na fodder usage, maganda nang ma-enjoy na magamit ngayon hehe. ;)

Speaking about LE.....
I made inquiries at NG about the availability of LE boosters, and I was told
that they sell the LE as a case only due to limited stocks.

So if one would like to get ahold of an LE booster/s you have to either
buy the case or pool enough money with other players to afford the case.

I guess my long wait for a BUT will be a longer one..... :disappointed:

I guess kaya ginawa ito ng NG is to avoid leftover boosters with the same visible mini, the one that is least wanted by the players... Pero by the way the last batch was sold out so quickly (yung noong D. Delves pa) this should not be a problem.

Well we could always petition NG to get more stocks through their "Dear NG (http://www.neutralgrounds.net/forums/index.php/board,20.0.html)" thread.

That, or you could join a sealed tourney kung saan the BUT will be surely set aside as one of the prizes (kasi mamaw sya sa sealed anyone who gets it will surely win). :grin:

And now to the battle report. We had 6 players opening 1 Legendary Evil booster each and augmented what we got with a prepared regular 200 pt arena warband to come up with a 450-pt hybrid sealed warband. Magulo ba? sinabi mo hehe.

We intentionally left out the Unbound Balor and Beholder Ultimate Tyrant boosters for tourney prize, as having these two epics in sealed play could result to some lopsided matchups (masyado sila malakas!).

In my match with Pao I totally forgot until it's way too late that the Deathpriest could heal not only the Undead but Demons also like my titan the Goristro! The result: after a critical hit by a high-jumping baby Slaad for 20 damage and getting Stunned then poisoned by the Elder Green Dragon, the Gori went down without ever getting to use his auto-kill Fury of the Abyss attack. What a schmuck!

In my game with Gelo I got to use my Skeletal Tomb Guardian's Cascade of Steel alpha strike on his Hill Giant Barbarian right on his starting area! Boosted by the Brown Dragon's Ambush-giving champion effect, the STG can deal 35 damage in each of his 4 attacks in a single turn! Swerte ko lang kasi nalimutan ni Gelo gamitin yung Duergar Bodyguard on his Hill Giant (sleeping on the job hehe) pero malas din kasi only 3 attacks hit for a total of 105 damage in a single turn!

As for my match with Joel, ang tindi nung Elder Iron Dragon with his triple attack for 25 damage each! On top of that, nandun pa si Wulfgar and Warpriest of Hextor to give the dragon an additional 2 attacks, bringing it to a total of 5 attacks worth 125 damage in a single turn! To make matters worse, if you manage to hit the dragon's ac34, gagantihan ka pa nya with an attack of his own by virtue of his champion power! Long story short, kinain lahat nung dragon ang aking warband hehe :laugh:

Nice games mga bro! it's really nice to crack open a brand new booster once again.

Our next gameday will be on Sunday, November 29. Epic 500 pt constructed tayo para masubukan natin yung ating mga Legendary Evils huges! :grin:

I hope not. SE is a completely different matter IMHO. Unlike sa LE were if ever per booster ung bentahan ay puro Remorhaz at Goristo ung posibleng matitira, another reason ay puro mga titans ung visibles; ung mga vis sa SE ay pwedeng magamit more once since medium-large ung mga figs.

LE is a victim of it's own success pagdating sa bentahan.

Ok lang sana yung pagbenta by-the-case kung visible lahat (like PHH) kasi pag ganun talagang 100% pwede ma-cherry pick.

Pero with the Monster Manual sets, 20% lang naman (8 out of a total 40 figures or 1 out of the 5 booster contents) ang visible. Kung may hinahabol akong rare, i'd be willing to buy a duplicate of a visible fig i already have. Kaya i don't see the problem na matatambakan sila ng deadstock, maliban na lang dun sa PH Heroes na fully visible, if hindi sila nagbenta by the case. Case in point is yung last batch ng Dangerous Delves... naubos naman lahat at nalinis ang shelves sa NG!

Sayang lang na ngayon, walang mabili yung mga walk-in na potential new players na gusto lang sumubok ng isang booster.

ofcourse i'm speaking only in the pov ng skirmish player and not a collector or RPG player.

I'm sure we will see at least 2 BUT warband. The question is, are you willing to sacrifice the competiveness of YOUR warband to defeat a warband that throws 80 pts of damage per round? Can your warband dish out 300 damage in 2 rounds? Aamin na ba ni Piolo na love nya si Dingdong?

Up to 80 points PER target PER round plus ongoing damage and you're dominated (whew) , plus auto-dazes all the others it hasn't dominated, since it can auto-daze up to 3 creatures per activation. ;)

Your dominated/Dazed commanders can't use CP's either, so any CP-based strategy might not be worth mulling over...

Well, if you see a totally dominated case of 500 pts due to BUT, then why don't we just ban the damn thing?

Hehe...Pusher and I were discussing this...I believe there's the part where "we-can't-be-sure-it's-broken-unless-we-really-see-it-in-action". It's also so that those who have the BUT wouldn't be disappointed if ever they weren't allowed to use it. To me, it IS beatable, but you have to really prepare a big part of your warband for that specific build, which leaves the fun out in warband-construction IMO.

Personally, I wouldn't be sad to see the BUT go. But given that it's allowed for now, I wouldn't blame those who would use it, to see for themselves what it can really do. (Ako nga pinag-iisipan ko pa e...pag makasaali siguro ako pero di ako magkatime makaisip warband....parang "sige BUT, eto malamang ok na to" :p:p:p)

2 of 'em can kill a BUT in one round, if all attacks hit! Yun nga lang 16+ to hit ang base...at may Duergar Guard pa...hehehe

I second this...medyo hesitant na ko sa 500, what more sa 1000...medyo mahirap na i-track, maintain, pagisipan strat, etc...:confused::confused::confused:

Sayang talaga last time, was prepared na sana na mapasabak sa pinakararely-played constructed format ko (500pt)...o well...

Pinaka-ok yung balik-200 sa kin...mas maraming pwedeng itry-out, and mas balanced ang power-levels....wala gaanong dreadnoughts....hehehe

Na-enjoy nyo ba yung Legendary Evils set? I did :grin: I really like the Adult Brown Dragon - medyo brute sya pero it also takes some finesse to pilot with his Ambush and Sand Cloud abilities. The Frost Titan also rocks... he's one of the cheaper titans pero he can easily take down the Unbound Balor in a couple of rounds with the right support (diba Hexav?). Oh and yung Foulspawn Hulk nga pala gets +10 damage na when bloodied and not +5 (check the errata).

Legendary Evil’s Fearless Forecast

Disclaimer: I don’t really play Epic, so I didn’t bother reviewing the Epic pieces. No suprises… the BUT looks brutal and the Elder Green is of course the best. Ever. Some of these non-epics look made for Epic. The Swarm and Psychic Sentinel in particular. Please let me know what you think, we all like seeing builds and thought processes.

Adult Brown Dragon

It is certainly tougher than the Large Green Dragon for 51 points, and with more damage output. The Champ Power isn’t as wicked though. Still, the power can turn a mini with multi attacks into a killer. Sand Cloud rocks; free damage, and on a Move action! Get in with the Blast 2/invisible power, then next turn Bite and shift 8 squares to retreat. Champ Power might stack well with Windsoul Genasi Paladin, or a high speed creature like Thrall or Quickling Runner. Possibly with Burrow (LEE or UHD) or Phasing. Rules: Does the ally have to use a Minor action for Ambush? Or does it choose 1 enemy? If no Minor, than a Djinni, or Khumat look sweet too.

Air Archon Zephyrhaunt

Not quite a Thrall. Maybe not even a Berbalang or Cyclops. To me, it is a “Guided Missle” type mini, with total front load damage (which is usually good). Needs a WEW, H7W or a Qualinesti Defender to really make it work though. Powers that restrict my use of a mini turn me off, usually. Loner seems like that kind of power. Wants an area attacker if run in multiples, I think Wild Mage + AAZ might be a nifty combo.

Aurak Draconian

A funky hybrid piece. Part tech (champ power), part blaster (radius 1 within 10… at least until bloodied), and part melee. I could see arming him with a Heal potion, and playing a sort of point denial and trying to keep the Radius 1 going. The Radius kills a BG, the Blast can Weaken, and the powers discourage engaging it it. I like the Warlock of Vaasa and I think this is very similar.

Barghest Savager

60 HP for 25 points is cool. Not Xen’drick cool, but cool. Medium base with Jump Strike and Ambush should pay off. But without an auto-miss, only the Goblin keyword can help. I’d certainly play it in a Goblin theme band.

Bolraza

The first Champ power is great (-10 damage from {a} or {c}). Right now, I can’t think of a good Hobgoblin to bother with the 2nd champ power… maybe. Doesn’t seem to be Unique, so maybe two of the Priestesses would work well together. Unlimited Sight ranged is useful, and the Bane’s Tyranny is a big-time deterrent to engaging. Still, needs better Hobgoblin allies.

Chillfire Destroyer

First thought was too slow for Wild, too weak for Civ. The HP kinda balance that out. But – AH! – it is an auto-damage machine! So far a lot of these minis say: “Don’t attack me!” Aura 2 is hard to get away from, and it can Trample, which basically forces you to attack it… or get Trampled, which nobody wants. Large base, Speed 5 are serious issues. May work with an Efreeti Flamestrider as a solid point denial spot to retreat to with a lead.

Chuul

Formidable AC, pathetic damage output that either needs help on the front end (ally) or will be back-end damage. AC isn’t what it used to be, and back-end damage sucks.

Djinni Stormsword

I think this is a Yowza piece in Wild. Fast with decent HP/AC/DEF (love the low Will) and serious damage output. I wouldn’t even bother with a H7W as a Champ. STC look good to balance high cost. Come to Me in Wild (as a burst 5) is huge, as they have the speed/ranged to benefit from an early engagement. Lots of points for basically a soldier though.

Doomdreamer

So… Dark God’s Touch looks like it would trigger if the enemy merely Shifted. Dark Shadows is free on a {m} hit, and the Burst 3 is enemies only. That makes it pretty solid tech/soldier for 25 points. Accurate for cost, if a little fragile. Needs a little Keyword (human, divine, rage) love to reach top table, but still solid.

Duergar Cleric of Asmodeus

Looks like fun to play. It isn’t Foulspawn Seer tier one, but still a fun Controller type Champion. Cheap Devils (the new Guard? Infernal Armor) or Devil titans both get something. Does Ash Clouds trump Arcane Archer’s shot? I hope so, even if Ash Clouds doesn’t specify “terrain.” Though… I’d think Blindsight should trump it. Hmmm… Fun Controller to play, the {r} looks tough.

Duergar Guard

A top table possibility. Nineteen points is no joke though, and as the wise DSS says, “if your BG doesn’t BG anything, it’s not really worth the points.” It isn’t the same as the MG, for sure. I think it favors a melee titan, but then again, you have to get it close enough, unBloodied. With a ranged piece, it won’t get the full melee benefit. Either way, 50 HP is one huge deterrent. Heck, 30 is bad enough, and even the Wand Expert/Xendrick suck to target. If you can get the Pin off effectively, that could be another wasted round. Strong piece in awkward point slot.

Earth Archon Rumbler

Stable Footing a nice nod to the RPG mobility. Uh… repeatable Stun is teh sweet, and the +10 Damage effect works on it. This piece seems like a Yes. Slow, low Ref/Will might hinder it. Might make a great soldier for a ranged oriented band. I’d play it, no H7W though. Maybe jump it in with a Seer, or blast in the back with Solamiths for U/D. Any number of ranged pieces in Wild, or a mix of the hybrids. Advancing with Xen’dricks and Garl could be fearsome. Rockmaul great weapon name.

Foulspawn Hulk

I’m more than happy to dislike this mini. The DEF are terrrrrrible, even for a Brute. 50ish point Brutes are one of my least favorite combos. Heck, it’s even ugly. Next

Foulspawn Mangler

On the right map, Hide and Thrown Daggers is solid. Auto-Weaken is huge, since you can pick your place better. Picking your place should be fairly easy with Dagger Dance, +15 with CA and four rolls to get Weaken off. Decent piece that is certainly at the “Best 28 point piece in Underdark” table.

Foulspawn Seer

My notes are transcribed before PK’s recent post Premier constructed mini of the set. Teleport 10 HAS to be useful. Golem of Hextor? LShD? Trog Captain? Thaskor (lol)? The new Foulspawn Mangler could be death in the right spot. Is a Duergar Slaver worth the investment? Fen Hydra still not good enough, but what about the Roper? Every attack rocks, the Aura is just stupid gravy.new thoughts Deathgrasp Sarcophagus could be teleported away. Any of the Sight blasters (U/D’s best are DFO and Mith, but if Soulrider Devil’s damage stacked better, that cost range is better.

Expensive for a Swarm, but very fast. This is a titan’s dream! Who needs 19 point BG’s when you have 21 points of auto-damage? Maybe with Vol… any titan should benefit, but U/D’s titans kinda suck. I like Vol best. I look forward to trying these little guys out.

Human Rabble

-1 DEF, +1 attack, situational +5 damage… not seeing why this replaces the Farmer.

Irontooth

Why have Champ Powers worded like “Use at start of an ally's turn: End 1 ongoing damage effect on that ally” when the sequence says taking ongoing damage happens just after determining control, and before any other Start of Turn mechanics…? Any other trigger would be just fine and not cause any questions. Anyhow, he offers a nice Red Hand War Sorcerer compliment, and fits in any Goblin Keyword band. The other Champ Power isn’t good enough for non-Keyword play. Rolling Cleave is nice though, a fun power for fun games.

Gith Cenobite

Trace Chance is an interesting ability. Looks great against Insubstantial, and maybe in the end-game. When else do you use it? An awesome Jedi like collection of powers though, and looks very fun to play. Maybe not top table, but fun, and close. Nearest Push 2 is what makes him close to top table. Getting a BG out of the way will affect enemies positioning.

Gith Mindmage

All Gith’s must be mounted, or between 43-49 points!! Accurate Mind a flavorful power, and Mindstrike could be ruinous to the enemies Champion. Does Accurate Mind avoid Hide? If so, a bit better. Elemental Bolt can clear a MG off… seems fragile and not enough damage output though. Not feeling it.

Minotaur Thug

Great HP total, and can clean a MG off in one charge. Otherwise, does this piece make the Minotaur Battle Shaman worth BGing? On it’s own, it isn’t quite good enough. 13 points is an awkward point slot unless you’re getting serious synergy.

Psychic Sentinel

Speedy fig for Civ. With the Militia Archer doubling the range, the Twin Beam is nifty. Not many pieces want to face +19 (20) x2 late in the game, so this piece forces some difficult, difficult decisions on enemies. Mind Lock an absolute killer. Ouch. Once the wrong mini is stuck… it’s locked down. I think this piece is near top table quality. Maybe too hybrid at 51 points (as opposed to 20-29)? I’d be curious about synergies in Civ, maybe IL and Kalashtar and Witch?

Rimefire Griffon

Skirimsh machine. Move and Blast 4? This is what Dragons should have had years ago. I think it certainly needs to be played to explore that dynamic. Still, another high cost non-Artillery that just doesn’t seem to have it. Unless Flyby Blast 4’s light it up… while cool, not sure it will.

Salamander Firetail

The auto damage is OK, repeatable, but still just OK. The damage is too spread out though, and frequently resisted. Double Attack the only thing it has going for it. Immune Fire might make him a good Mith partner in U/D… This might actually need a H7W, or at least a STC. A well-placed Hellwasp might make the repeatable auto-damage move worth it.

Scarecrow Stalker

Restuff is nearly useless in a real game, but makes a great power on the card. Very flavorful. Brutish ranged attack, and average accuracy/damage after that.

Slaad Spawn

Hmmm… Chaotic Slam and Death Burst seem awesome. Maybe too expensive at 12 points, but still a very fun piece. Without any serious Keyword help, I’m not sure it will see play.

Sivak Draconian

Pretty hot piece at a good point slot. Accurate and brutal enough to need attention. Death Shape creates some real problems (rules and tactics). Keywords exploitable (Defender?), and each attack is worth it. Better than a Wild Mage? Maybe with Keywords, but not right now.

Talon Slaad

Argh… another 50ish point Brute. Chaos Storm is pretty nasty, and the damage output is there, but with such loooow DEF/AC, it has little chance of getting to matter.

War Troll

Seems like a Troll version of the Everfrost Ranger. Not really accurate, not really… there.

Yochlol Tempter

Spider Queen’s Cruelty looks hot. Replacing an attack action with 63 points sounds… like it really, really, really, needs to be capitalized on. DFO? Melee damage looks low, but with 4 attacks, it is almost like guaranteed damage. Ranged Immobile is also hot. This piece is sweet, although a role or band hasn’t come to me yet.

Yup, malamang may game SWM nun with Javey, me , antonn and joel...but i always bring my Dnd figs just in case may game o freeplay. Nabubulok na nga dahil sa tagal na di nagagamit eh. Maybe we should hold at least two Dnd games per month to make the game well and good, make the Dnd Battle Report naman in this Thread not just Discussions...even if its just 4 players lang pwede nang mag game just like last time. Kelangan may humawak ng Dnd even if wala yung usual Judges na nag ru run ng event. Pwede pa kaya si Chris or maybe even Xandy? ang important is to keep the game alive.
Yung format na kaya ng lahat para naman makalaro ang marami. Standard 200pts is good, even arena.

As they say it dati sa Clix community...if you schedule it, people will come, until maging habit na diba? This wil greatly help to keep the community alive...but you still need a leader to make this happen.
Heres an idea, although very contestable and not all might agree: SWM vs DnD!!! Para hindi na manguluntoy ang Dnd and SWM figs nating lahat. ;). Dragons vs Jedis!!! to end the discussion which are the better figs ng WOTC. :classic:

The good news is, 6k lang ang isang case of 8 boosters, meaning Php750 per booster ang Savage Encounters!

I especially agree with this one. Kung maaari nga, mas marami yung freeplays, and tourneys would come in 1 of every 4 meetings. Usually this is so that players can experiment with warbands and see if the synergies are worth it before they try it out in an actual tourney. Entrance fees could then be upped a bit also because of the frequency of the tourneys (instead of 1k spent by a player in 2months, it could be 350-500 para sa major tourney every 2months). That way, the players would relatively spend less but the tourneys would have more major prizes (mas malupit o mas marami ang mapapanalunan, or we could offer a money-back+1st-pick to the champ), and you have more tried and tested bands.

Mas maganda rin kung sset lang tayo ng format for the freeplays so we just know what to expect. Suggestion ko lang na mostly 200 (it wouldn't be "Standard" otherwise hehe), with an occasional 100pt or 500pt play.:classic:

Anyway, mukhang ok ako this Sat at around the time din that Pusher proposed (3-6pm). Let's bring our experimental-bands. Sunod-sunod labas ng stats, I'm sure marami tayong gustong subukang builds. :classic: If there's any fig you don't have but want to try out to see if it's worth buying/using in skirmish, notify niyo lang yung ibang players (isa na ko dun) baka meron sila na pwede mapahiram. ;)

Well said, Frank. Ako personally I prefer na may 2 to 3 weeks tayo ng testing and casual funplay and practice before we have at least one tournament for the month. This way we can try out lahat ng mga warbands natin for fun or competition, hindi yung pag tourney lang. And para hindi rin masyado magastos hehe.

Napapansin ko kadalasan sa tourney na kinakapa yung warband (for lack of practice) which lessens the fun. This also contributes to slow play. And also ang nagiging tendency is paulit-ulit na meta-figs na lang ang nakikita lagi kasi tried and tested na sila.

Let's have more freeplays!!!

sarap magfreeplay! Was finally able to try out my Psychic Sentinel na walang magawa ang Mindlock kay Grazzt (pesteng teleport yan hehe)! Matindi pala talaga yung Foulspawn Seer! Di pa nakakaalis sa starting area yung war band ko gutay gutay na sa mga Shadow Dragons hehe. Buti na lang sa freeplay ko nakatapat! Thanks sa laro Frank, Vennie, Alvin, and Xandy! Dagdagan pa ang mga freeplays!

Tried a few war bands using the figs from Savage Encounters just to see how they performed.

Grazzt is a one man... err demon warband in arena and I can't wait to test him in epic! Unfortunately, one demon can't win against a 200 pts warband; he got gang banged by a Psychic Sentinel, and 2 Gith Mindmages using their melee attacks in the end, since Dags decided it's futile to hit him using range attacks from the three (all of them are vs Ref ^^, plus with his Resist 10 All).

Nightwalker sinister have a few synergies in SE but I only pull a Bodak Skulk. He got clobbered by Alvin's HGB and Stormshambler in the end. Marilith never see the beginning of round two as she went down from HGB's crit and SS from a Snaketongue.

All in all, I'm satisfied with my pulls. Some notable figs are Grazzt, Nightwalker Sinister, Marilith (love the sculpt!), Adult Purple Dragon, Bodak Skulk, Goblin Skullcleavers and aside from the visible figs.

My war band consisting of a Dwarf Battlemaster, Dwarf Sergeant, Standardbearer, Gith Mindmage, Storm Archer, Sckullcleave Warrior, City Guard, Farmer, Merchant Guard never stood a chance against Frank's synergistic deadly war band.

At the end of his first activation of the first round, I think my warband was left with 1 Digest and 1 Wild Elf Warsinger dead, 1 Digester at 10 or 20hp and Weakened, 1 Adult Brown Dragon down to 20hp and Weakened. Yung Earth Archon Rumbler ko lang ang nakaligtas kasi tumakbo sya palayo on my first activation hehe... :knockedou

Kaya ngayon nagcoconstruct ako ng mga viable Mind Flayer Lich warbands :cheeky:

Parang anlakas ng Underdark faction ngayon ano? with Foulspawn Seer, BUT, and the others. They even have their own bodyguard now.

Lumalayo na ang power base (or mas nagiging balanced na) from the traditional Borderlands and Civilization warbands.

Pero it helps din vs. Solamiths (esp kung radius 1, I'd take 5 damage over 30 anytime)...and sa ibang close and area attacks that would impose conditions aside from damage (o pwede mo nang pang-spoil to sa shadow drags, Pusher, hehehe....) :p:p:p

Well it's good that Underdark has that option na kahit papaano, but medyo awkward din yung point-slot na fill ni Duergar Guard. Iba pa rin yung Merchant Guard where 16pts allow you to guard 2 places at once, and without conditions on the target being non-bloodied.

Medyo maraming force-movement effects na din so you could slide that key piece and attempt to bloody it before the Duergar Guard can react. By that time, the DG's "Mordai Guard" would be useless for that key fig.

EDIT: Maganda synergy niya with Aspect of Lolth though, hehehe

I believe ALL factions have budyguards now which, like Dags already said, the game is gaining balance. And with each succeeding releases and re-stats, no particular warband build or faction can claim dominance in the game. Which is good for us players!

Hopefully Wizards will release the Hive Mother or it's Aspect or the other varieites of Beholder like Eye of the Deep (an aquatic type Beholder). And lots of dragons! ^_^

Anyway, I mentioned that I noticed it was suddenly possible while scanning the "newer" restats, so the combo wouldn't be complete without a DE/Harb miniature. ;)

Anyway, the combo is in the Arcane Archer. Multi-EAA's are a very-much-used band archetype, and this mini, being 48pts (and with roughly the same role) is not hard to substitute into the usual build.:cool:

Although results are better if you win initiative (you may tailor your band to increase that possibility), it's still doable even if you lose initiative, the required pieces would be:

Arcane Archer ("THE" piece)
Storm Silverhand
2-3 EAA's (preferably 3)
Delver Sergeant
Free League Ranger or 2nd Delver Sergeant (for an additional AA champ power)

Strategy is simple: just hit the Foulspawn Seer 3 times with your EAA's (or the AA if you prefer, but EAA's have higher to-hit), using phase arrow if necessary.

Delver Sgt uses CP for 3 acts. Hit Seer with EAA-phase-arrows 3 times . A typical BUT/Seer build would have a Duergar Guard of course, and if the Guard takes the attack, you just use the AA's 1st CP to deal 20damage to the Seer. You can do this 3 times via an FLR boost or a second delver. The rest is mathematics. ;) Seer goes bye-bye. :p:p:p

If you don't mind losing initiative, you could drop Storm and Delvers in the band, and use a Moon Elf Fighter. Go second for 2 acts + 1 via MEF CP, and do the same process (via FLR-boosted-AA).

EDIT: But since I've mentioned the MEF anyway, why not use both then ;) It would help make your EAA's a lot more insane. :p

Using FLR also allows you to up the AA's champ rating to 3, increasing the chance of winning initiative without using other pieces.

And there you go! :cool::cool::cool: now to find a good counter to my own build HAHAHA!

EDIT: Just want to note that although other anti-BUT builds have been mentioned before, this uses relatively less investment on points, and still allows the band to be highly-competitive against other builds, rather than just focusing your entire band around a Seer/BUT opponent.

Simple yet effective na solution nga si Arcane Archer versus a soft target plus their bodyguards ano? totally missed that one. Matindi nga ang champion powers nya!

Siguro one possible counter would be the LE's Duergar Cleric of Asmodeus and his Ash Clouds of Baator. That would protect the Seer from the Phase Arrows for atleast one round - enough time to teleport the BUT right into enemy lines - but at the expense of losing room for a Delver Sgt nga lang.

Meister will be in a better position to answer this pero here's my 0.002 centavos na rin:

Warband Building, like other powers, do not stack if pareho ang name (the bold text before the ":" mark). So isang Warband Building ability lang ang gagana. Buti na lang, the DK's WB (Evil Undead only) is only a subset of Strahd's WB (ALL Undead) so pag ginamit mo yung kay Strahd e di parang nakuha mo na rin yung kay DK (pati si DK).

Pero, my first 2 sentences above could be wrong hehe :p

And speaking of Warband Building, may new Campaign Cards na pala on top of the first 2 na based on the Drow race!

So far I see there are already 1 for Dwarves, 1 for Duergar, 2 for Goblinoids, 1 for Reptiles and another for non-evil Uniques. Konti pa lang and hopefully dumami pa in the near future, like more for Humans, Dwarves and Elves.

Well, nasagot ko na to ata sa text but here goes hehe (You can skip right over to the last paragraph if you don't need examples/explanations and just a straight answer to your question. :p:p:p ).

Well, walang stacking issue sa scenario na pinresent mo since they're differently worded ("All Undead..." vs. "Evil Undead...are legal"). Also you could use one WB ability to bring in a second creature with a diff WB ability. This was the case with one of the bands Pusher posted for anti-BUT builds (page 123, post #1838). The player used Orog to bring in Orc Sergeant into the Underdark faction, then used the Orc Sergeant's WB to bring in the Hobgoblin Marshall. :cool::cool::cool:

In your specific case, Strahd allows all undead into your warband and DK allows Evil Undead, so both work, redundant nga lang kasi yung Evil AND Good undead in-allow na ni Strahd, so medyo may nasayang kang binayaran sa points ni DK hehehe.

malas mo nga sa dice hehe... pero kung tutuusin mahirap talaga tamaan yung AC29 nung mga blasted Ambush Drakes na yun! And not bad na rin ha, considering your 2nd Place finish in a 5-way Free-for-All. With a little more practice on exploiting your creature's special abilities (like the Warhorse Rider's bonus attack) and using the map to your advantage, I'm sure you'll eventually get the top spot!!! :cool:

Thanks nga pala also to Raistlin Majere (great to see that old-school Ogre Ravager warband again) and Elou (antibay ng mga suicidal na Slaads!!!) for joining and congrats to Athas for outlasting 4 other opponents in the Dragon Shrine with his patented double-Ambush Drake warband. :cool:
