View Full Version : Having trade issues; need advice

I've done some trades on here, but lately I feel like there have been problems beyond my control.

Earlier this year I traded my Norrin Radd for a Time Trapper. The guy I traded to was a month late in sending out Time Trapper, but it never came. He says he sent it. I never got it.

I did a trade with someone else where I sent out SR Annihilus for a bunch of SI stuff. I got the box and all the figures were there except for Dr. Strange, however his character card was there. I sent an IM back, I was told he would send out Strange asap, and never got it. He wont respond to my IMs anymore.

Recently, I sent out Reed Richards to someone. They said they never got it. I know I sent it, marked the box correctly, and paid the postage correctly.

Three totally different situations and yet I've been on the side where I'm out figures. I know its not a question of how I send packages because I've done a great deal of selling though ebay, amazon, and trades here.

What can I do? The first two trades the guys involved wont answer my IM's anymore.

Any advice is helpful.

the best thing to do is send a delivery confirmation with each package. and ask the same from whom you are trading. it only cost $.65 more per item shipped, but it is proof the package was sent.

I would also check the i trader ratings, if they have any negative feedback, trading should be questionable. also there are threads posted about bad traders to warn people to stay away, ask someone you know or trust, or even a moderator if they have had a positive experience with a certain person before the trade goes through.

as for the stuff you have lost, get in touch with moderator and let them know the situation, if they get enough complaints from a certain account, they will boot the person from the realms.

you can also see their recent activity, it could be they have not logged in yet and have not seen your messages, I would check that before any complaints are made or negative feedback is left, just to find out if they are blatantly ignoring you.

sorry for your loss, I am always down to trade if you need to make up for some bad ones, check my H/W tab and see if anything interests you.

Hey mate,
having been recently hosed by a triple digit itrader rated loser, I feel your pain and can only express that getting a DC# with every package not only ensures you have some sort of notification that the package was delivered, it's also PROOF when you go to file mail fraud charges against the turdhopper

trade with folks you've had good experiences with and you can't go wrong.. for every loser out there, there's several great traders who send stuff quickly and communicate, so don't let the bad apples ruin it totally

keep checking my H/W list for anything, be happy to trade again with you.

Thanks. Yeah, I feel like I was hosed, but I don't want to accuse anyone (which is why I didn't give names).

I'll check out your list.

Names, give us names!!

I don't want to name names, because I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, but someone who is pretty big on here owes me a Doc Strange!

Its a precaution. I don't really mind because I have a high ref. count, but what if these users you are giving the benefit of the doubt to are preying on users with low ref. counts? You owe it to them to make sure they don't get ripped off.

Edit: also, call them out. Let those users come here and defend their name.

Another option, is use those you trust (or mods) to be "middle-men." If someone you're trading with can't agree to using a neutral party, there's something fishy there.

Also whenever a situation just seems to be going bad for you, contact a mod ASAP.

I agree with the advice here ... also, you need to call them out so everyone else is aware of it.

Exactly, call them out. You owe it to the rest of the trading community to call these rippers out.

I for one would advice care instead.
Trades sometimes go bad - I once did a trade where I did not get the package. Didn't feel like making a big deal out of it, and a while later I made another deal with the same guy - that time he came through with flying colors.
Another time I wanted to do a deal with a guy who had some recent bad traders threads created - this was before the feedback system. I asked him if he was willing to send first, but he wasn't since my feedback wasn't that good at the time. I've dealt with that person several times afterwards.
My point: Posting people's names can have far-reaching consequences - it can stop bad traders, but also hinder good traders. For now it is probably enough to PM the mod (KitsuShel) and voice your concerns.

Okay, you convinced me. I'm not the kind of person who does this, so I already feel really bad. In the grand scheme of things, losing a few trades is nothing.

That being said...

-Mike Houghton owes me a Doc Strange.
-NPolly owes me a Time Trapper.
-I'll save the third trade because I honestly believe this guy isn't screwing me over.

Good luck on the Npolly front. :(

If you check in Trading General Discussion, theres a thread on him already. I would suggest posting there and adding to the list.

Thanks for directing me to that thread. Wow, my bad trade happened back in May, and it seems it would have been best to give him a bad i-trader rating then. Maybe I could have saved some people some grief.

That's a mistake I'll never make again!

As Mike_Houghton, I've both met him before and traded with him and he's a good guy.

I'll be happy to step in and see if I can help you out.

Yeah, he seems like a good guy. I think he was just frustrated he didn't include Strange in the package and didn't want to have to send again.

LOL the ripper? Lazy yes... ripper? Hardly. I have had some real world issues as of late which has caused me to be alittle lax in sending. I just honestly have been overwhelmed and forgot. I can assure everyone that their packages went out today that I was late on :) I had 2 that i probably should have sent in the last 2 weeks and didnt.

As far as me being a ripper? Check with everyone I have traded with in the past year and see how often I have sent extras for being late.. or just because. I have also refunded shipping money before. I can guarantee you that 99 percent of my feedback has been from people that would trade with me again.

I do accept responsibilty for my actions with this and one more sale/trade though and am in the process of making it right. I wasnt doing this to scam or rip anyone off :)
