Hey, I am fairly new the clix - I've been living in chicago for about A year now. I'm just wondering is there anyone around the chicago area that go to tournaments and events? I know by me there is Dark Tower that holds tournaments weekly and also a place called Evil Squirrel wich is a little bit further away. But if anyone is from around the chicago area. please let me know, I would love to join A community.

I moved away from Chicago a while back, but had a lot of great experience while I was down there. If you can get out to the 'burbs, there are two venues I can particularly recommend:
Games Plus in Mount Prospect, Fridays

Astro City in Schiller Park (near O'Hare), Sundays

Both places have great Judges and a very active playing group. Astro City tends to draw some very strong players -- but they're good guys, so don't let that scare you off. Games Plus tends to be more relaxed.
I kinda envy you... Chicago may well have one of the most vibrant Clix scenes in the country. Hope you get around and enjoy all the opportunities to play!

Sadly, it looks like AC is out of the Clix-hosting biz.
Send me a PM with your email and I can add you to a mailing list that covers Darktower and Evil Squirrel.
There are also Brainstorm and Grahm Crack.

Ah, that was posted from my phone... hence, it got cut off.
Sounds like you are in the city, North Side.
There are 4 active venues (that I know of, at least) on the North Side:
Darktower (near you, also where I play most often when not judging). Saturday games
Evil Squirrel (up North in Rogers Park, where I run the tournies). Tuesday nights
Graham Crackers in Lincoln Park, on North Avenue-- which is pretty far South of Darktower. Runs events on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Brainstorm on North Avenue near Ashland, the furthest South of all of these. Runs on Saturdays.
I run a mailing list that is a good source of info for Darktower and Evil Squirrel. PM me with your email address and I'll set you up. There's a mailing list for the other two, I can PM you back with the email address for that. Both of the other two venues are run by the same judge.
All four places are good places to play, with different styles. Darktower is pretty much anything-goes, and a lot of kids play. Pretty big turnouts. GCC also gets pretty big turnouts, is decidely more "comic themey" so if you go there, pack a comics-accurate theme. Brainstorm is less actively themey from what I've seen, has smaller turnout. Evil Squirrel has the smallest turnout of all (sob!) and the atmosphere is friendly but themes are not a big thing there-- people play whatever they like. ES will sometimes have only a couple of people show, and more than 4 is unusual. Come boost my numbers and have a better-than-average chance at a prize!
Also, there are many good places to play in the burbs-- I've tried most all of them-- and the two RavenP mentions are the best-- or were, since Astro City is done for the time being. The few times I've been to Games Plus I was mad welcome, and they also get a really decent sized turnout.
