ok on a wild card
lets say we've got a batman ally and a defender on the team.
the opponent is gonna blast our spiderman, so spidey says i am gonna batman ally it (stealth).
so the blaster says ok, then i will charge and hit you.....
is this considered another action? if so can the spidey then change to use the defender affiliation if he is standing next to him?
It is a new action, but Spidey would be stuck with the Batman Ally team ability.
From the rulebook, p. 19:
"If a team ability used by a wild card after the declaration of an action makes the declared action impossible to perform—for example, if a line of fire for an opposing character’s ranged combat attack can no longer be drawn to the wild card due to the team ability now used by the wild card—treat the action as though it was not given and choose a different action instead. The wild card, however, must continue to use that ability even when a new action is declared."
:cough:search:cough:
There is a thread just a couple down from this covering this already.
Itīs harder to explain now.
I use the action number X to explain it to my players.
Letīs say that you have 3 actions per turn.
Action Number 1 - you declare a power action (charge) for your fig A against one the the teammates of my Spiderman, with this declaration I declare that my Spiderman copies CSA to be able to use Probability Control with that attack.
Action number 2 - you declare a ranged combat attack with your fig B against my Spiderman, I declare that my Spiderman copies Batman Ally making the attack illegal.
You change your action and now your fig C charges my Spiderman, but it IS still the Action number 2 so my Spiderman can not chage what he is copying, so he is still a batman ally.
Action number 3 - You declare an Energy Explosion for your fig B against a JSA next to my Spiderman, so I declare that my Spidey copies JSA to pump up his DV.
As you can see now itīs not a matter of who is doing the action to change what the wildcard is copying, now is the action per se.
I hope that helps!
