So, our next film, Classic or Crud, Hit or Miss, what say you ALL?

Our next film open for discussion (the next from our latest Sequel Section on RtM), and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:

PREDATOR 2

Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.

Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.

So, what say you all?

Next Film: ??????

Predator 2 is definitely a fine follow-up to Predator. The idea of placing the Predator in a different environment worked great, the characters were generally well fleshed out, and there were some really great action sequences.

Overall, I'd have to say 8 out of 10

Hmmmm, not many fans of films most classic intergalactic scalp hunter, eh? :) Personally I liked this sequel film OK enough, it wasnt close to the Classic sci fi/action film that the first one was to me, but it wasnt bad and pretty overall entertaining nonetheless. I dont buy for a second that Danny Glover would do Nearly as well one on one against a Predator as he did in this movie (the same one that beat Arnie senseless and Dutch would crush Danny, IMO), but it gets props for having an Alien skull on a Predator ship (which I think was the Very First reference to any AvP). I think Ill go 7.25 for Predator 2, and call it a day.

As far as sequels go, this one was actually pretty good. I loved the idea of a Predator running around a city hunting. It made for very interesting situations, such as the penthouse scene with the Jamaicans, the subway scene and of cours the slaughterhouse fight. I truly love the fact that they reinforced in this movie the sense of the Predator's honor, he will kill only those who are a threat. And while he brought a tenacity to the film, no way Danny Glover holds his own, let alone kill a Predator himself. I mean Arnold got his butt whopped bad and barely came out alive, I'm suppose to believe Glover can as well. Props though to Gary Busey, he provided great foil to Glover character. Oh, and that was one wicked scene at the end of the movie. All those Predators just appearing after the first one fall. Ballsy of this guy saying "Ok, who's next?"

7.5/10. Not as good as the first but an enjoyable watch.

I did not like this movie. It was simply a bad movie, there was no reason for it to be made and the director really seemed to take that to heart. Danny Glover wasn't very good in it, the action was boring and the story was uninteresting. The first was a dumb action movie, but it was a fun dumb action movie and that is the whole point. This is just a plain old incredibly forgettable dumb action movie.

4 out of 10

Decent follow up. Nothing spectacular sadly. Can't fault Kevin Peter Hall for this, though.

I also liked the fleshing out of the Predator's culture at the end. Engenders a different perspective than just a monster like Jason Vorhees.

7.37 out of ten.

enjoyable movie 7/10.

Danny glover only just wins from a 1-handed predator and some great new weapons...

I have predator 1&2 on DvD also AvsP and Alien 1&2 (AvP2 is awfull...:disappointed: ) and they're nice easy sci-fi horror fliqs.

Personally, I really liked AvP2, much better than #1, and thought it would have made a much better original film to that series than what we actually got.

I love this movie. Solid plot and good characterizations. Brings to life the Predator more as well. A bit of a twist in using a different main character in a sequel which I thought made it stand out from other sequels. (Terminaotr 1-3 all used Arnold). I categorize this as a Sci-Fi movie and not a horror one, even if it was pretty graphic. Plus Danny Glover was the man in that movie.

I give it an 8

(btw: I like both the AvP movies, but I can't say I've read the comic series so I most likely have a different perspective than most people on this forum.)
