Ressurecting Dreamblade

My friends and I recently made a buying spree trip of purchasing the dreamblade boosters on sale for just 100php each (which was originally 750php)...first for the sole reason that for such amount, you get to have 7 kick ### figs that you can always customize pag sawa ka na. :grin:

Then came the unexpected fun part...the freeplay!!! The game as it is (even if it was dead na and buried) was really great!! For all those guys who played dreamblade, lets ressurect this game again. Kahit pang relax lang siguro...of course Heroclix pa rin ang number 1 boys!!!

putek yan, kakabenta ko lang nung DreamBlade starter ko last year don sa tsikakas na naghahanap ng mga toys for display on the same price of php500.00, and now biglang nag sale pati boosters, bad trip yan, may starter pa ba at magkano?:(

actually, i have read the DB rules, maganda sya, especially the "blade" effects yata yun, there are 4 factions at the start, fear, passion, just forgot the 2 other factions, hatred ata yung isa.:squareeye

oh well, andaming minis, wala bang gustong bumuhay ng MechWarrior, i still have them at my box.

masaya yan! :grin: ang ganda ng game play magtataka ka kung bakit sya nadiscontinue.

wala kasing fluff background to support it.... look at most collectible games out there na buhay pa up to now... warhammer is a very good example... kahit mahal cya because of it's rich fluff history and the way they use it to strengthen the games longetivity... but there are games even with rich fluff gets axed like clix... mostly due to economic contraints or sometimes due to too much recycled units...

Oi Xandman, dami na kayang lumalaro ng Dreamblade...so its safe to say it can be a game that can rival said games given the right push (or pull depende pa yun if you roll blades hehehe). :devious:

Anyway, i really havent got the hang of DB and always thought of it as a fun past time lang...until last Saturday when I went up against the greatest player in all of Dreamblade or any Community: The Main Man Himself: Sir Freddy!!!
I got to ambush the big boss in the first 3 rounds but when he finally got his bearings up, the superior "borrowed" team (not his army pa un ha?) of his got the better of my rag tag army and went 6 straight!!! Wow!!! Galeng talaga!!! Im so glad to have had the chance to go up against the Best Player this game has produced. :cool:

...anyway, learned a lot of things then and now i can adjust my army and strategy to a better level. :grin:

Cant wait to go up against the Big Boss again and learn some more...I hear he's got a great team that's almost unbeatable.

Kaya mo mag customize prof!!! Ung 1 and 3 same lang sa 1D6, then ung 6 sa 1D6 eh number 2 sa Dblade and yung Blade is nasa 4th ng D6. I customized 3 already pandagdag sa 8 na nakuha ko sa starter.
And yes Pat, masakit sa ulo ung team mo!!!:laugh:

Marami pa sasali dyan panyerong Alexis Garcia alias Xandy, talked to some guys last time sa Glorietta and you will be surprised how many players this game can produce. Dreamblade is very much like chess, kaya yung mahilig mag isip dyan ng todo todo like Joel and Alexis (who plays 5 to 10 games every time they meet weheheh) talagang sasakit ang ulo nyo...so better be careful coz brain tumor ang posibleng sakit na makuha nyo dun. :laugh:

Just relax, remember that just like clix...this is only but a game. So enjoy lang wag masyado seryosohin...The more fun you put into it, the more you win in any way possible (kahit ma 6-0 blast ka like Harold: smile lang sya kahit alam mong bitter). :grin:

DB is great and really a happy game, but unlike SWM and DnD...it lacks the gamepieces to play now mostly due to scarcity of said boosters and starters (besides being dead na since like 2 years ago pa)... that is unless you buy from players like me ,Joel and Alexis at a very affordable price na swak sa budget. (Now that's promotion for you):devious:

...but then again you dont really need to have so many figs and power pieces to be competitive. All you need are but 30 good nons (and a rare or 2..this is optional though) that you can rotate into a 16 fig team and you're good to go...you can even win against anybody.

So laro na boys!!! Its simply a good past time even if it may not turn out to be a real sanctioned tourney...although with the proper numbers, maybe it can be. :cool:

Ei Mr. Lucky Xandy you...pulling a Batman SR na Chase!!! Pucha, kaw ang nanalo sa tourney yesterday just by gettting that..I mean sa States you can get KC GL and Flash pa for that!!! You must have done something good in your lifetime to have gotten that Lucky pre!!! :grin:

Anyway, nice game with Dawg and Chris yesterday sa Dreamblade...which is fast becoming my second most favorite game na these days. :noid:

Pat...you almost beat me yesterday but time expired so I believe that didnt count. Makapag retire na nga sa Dreamblade ng hindi mo na ko mabawian dun sa game wins ko sayo.:laugh:
