Lately at the Tin Soldier we're playing a series of very straightforward tournament scenarios (all rookies followed by all experienced; next week is all veterans, and the following week should be all metallics). This has made it very easy for us to remember what the next week's scenario is, and there's no risk of an unbalanced situation coming up in play.

This isn't always the case. While many of us come up with scenario ideas all the time, we often forget all of them when it comes to suggesting what we should play next week! And sometimes a particular scenario has unforeseen complications that makes one type of team much more powerful than any other.

So I'd like to suggest scenario ideas here, as a place where we can write our ideas instead of always forgetting them, and perhaps iron out any kinks to make sure that they're playable, balanced and fair.

Here's one off the top of my head. I'm sure that I had other, better ideas to suggest, but I can't remember any of them right now. :p

Whenever a character you control is KOd, you can choose a different character on your force that was previously KOd. Place it in any starting zone and roll one die; it takes (unavoidable?) damage equal to the number rolled.

... because nobody ever dies forever in comics, right?

Pros: It's not possible for a player to have so many characters wiped out that he is hopelessly outmatched. It's most likely that you'll have only one or two fewer characters than your opponent.

If you have a key character who you need for your team, or you just really like using, you can get him back after being KOd - he just needs to have a decent mid-dial.

Cons: Games will have to either go to time or to twelve rounds, because it's probably not possible to wipe out your opponent's entire force.

Point values could vary wildly from game to game, especially if you keep KOing Ares over and over. :p

If you're really unlucky, it's possible to bring a character back from the dead and then KO them instantly (rolling a 6 on a dial with six or fewer clicks).
