I'm floating this as a trial balloon to see if there's any interest. Basically, the idea is that I lend you one of my figures for a game. In return, I would get either Recruit Points or an upgrade. Here's how I would see a deal working.

Recruit Points

Problem: Your big gun is injured in Game 2, and you need to let him rest for Game 3. Unfortunately, that leaves a hole in your line-up.

Solution: Borrow Ultimate Iron Man in exchange for RPs. Here's how it would work:

Step 1: At the end of Game 2, I trade Ultimate Iron Man to you for X+1 recruit points.

Step 2: At the end of Game 3, you trade Ultimate Iron Man back to me for 1 recruit point.

Net result: For a net cost of X recruit points, you've let your big gun recover from his injury, and you've gotten the use of Ultimate Iron Man for 1 game.

Upgrade

Problem: You're facing a heavily-stealthed team in Game 3, and a stealth-buster sure would come in handy. Unfortunately, you're also saving up your RPs for the midseason draft.

Solution: Borrow Ultimate Hawkeye in exchange for an upgrade. Here's how it would work:

Step 1: At the end of Game 2, I trade Ultimate Hawkeye to you for nominal consideration, say, 1 RP and a promise to use one of your 12 upgrades on Hawkeye to get an upgrade that I request.

Step 2: You use Ultimate Hawkeye in Game 3. At the end of Game 3, I would like to upgrade Ultimate Hawkeye to his LE Clint Barton version, using his SAs. You use one of your 12 upgrades for the season to do this.

Step 3: At the end of Game 3, you trade Ultimate Hawkeye back to me for 1 RP.

Net result: You get to use a stealth-busting archer for 1 game. I get an upgrade for Hawkeye without using one of my 12 upgrades for the season. The RP exchange is a wash.

Provisos: Let me make clear that I am not interested in lending out Ultimate Nick Fury, Ultimate Scarlet Witch, or Dr. Spectrum. I'm open, however, to offers to lend any of my other figures. Send me a pm if you're interested.

Interesting idea. How do you protect yourself if your fig gets injured in the game that they're lent out in?

EDIT: one problem with your upgrade issue. I recall stats get set to 0 for traded figs, so the guy who borrows your fig will have to be really efficient with Hawkeye in order to pull that off.

1. Injuries are undeniably a risk. Frankly, there's not a heck of a lot--if anything--that I can do if a figure is injured in a game where they're lent out. However, I think I have a deep enough bench that I can sit out that figure in the next game.

I suppose that I could ask for some kind of contingent compensation if a figure is injured. For example, part of the trade deal would be "If Hawkeye gets injured, then you agree to give me X more recruit points." That seems more trouble than it's worth, though.

Basically, however, I protect myself from injuries like everyone else. I pray to the Dice Gods and hope that they are merciful. :)

2. My recollection is that stats carry over with traded figures. I'm pretty sure that was the case with every figure I ever acquired through a trade. So far as I know, stats are reset to zero only when the figure is released at the end of the season and drafted by someone else in the next season.

I was going to do a similar trade 4 years ago, I had the WCA and Wonderman was pretty much benched. some team had their big gun injured so I was going to do the exact thing. we didn't trade bc either the stats reset to zero or bc some other reason. (I don't think that they do reset but it was a concern at the moment)

so good luck. :)

The other problem with this: You're a dirty hero.

...suck pants.

Well, Ultimate Quicksilver is arguably neutral. He started out with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, after all.

In addition to the above (see first post), I am also willing to entertain offers for my midseason draft pick, if anybody is interested.

I also have 40 RPs. If someone wants to trade a figure for RPs before the midseason draft, I'm open to offers.
