View Full Version : 20 questions--June 10 addition
I'm thinking of a comic book character.
You all have 20 yes or no questions to figure out who it is.
EDIT: Improper question, sorry.
Is the character male?

Is he a villain?

My working theory is (and has been) Dracula, btw. I honed in on the Archie Comics aspect pretty well, and I used ot do well with the Spot the Fakes, so let's see if I am right.
Is he a villain?
Yes, he is.
5 down. 15 to go.
Does he have a Heroclix figure?
Yes, he does.
6 down. 14 to go.

Since he has a Heroclix figure, I think we're out on that.
Is he a regular part of a comic book series?

Yep. Mindreading failed.
I need to think.
Is he a regular part of a comic book series?
No, he's not.
7 down. 13 to go.
Is he Human?
Yes, he is human.
8 down. 12 to go.
Does he have any powers other than flight?
Btw, once we reach 10, I'm gonna stop for a while.
Does he have any powers other than flight?
No, he doesn't.
9 down. 11 to go.
I'm betting, from the wording that I had stupidly chosen for my 2nd question, that he doesn't have any powers at all. I asked if he was capable of flight, which was a bad way to word it. However, we can assume that while he's capable of flight, he doesn't have any powers at all. And that narrows down the list a bit.
Does his Heroclix figure have a Team Ability?
Does his Heroclix figure have a Team Ability?
Yes and no.
10 down. 10 to go.
Yes and no.

So he has an REV, and maybe an LE version. And at least one of them doesn't have a TA.
Okay, recap:
We're looking for a male.
He's a Marvel Comics Villain.
He has a heroclix figure, and at least one version has a Team ability.
He wears a costume.
He's human.
He has no powers other than (perhaps) flight.
He's capable of flight.
He does not make regular appearances in any comic book series.

Is he a regular on a villain team?

A quick look rules out [Wingless] Wizard (no TA ever) or Beetle (always has one).
Is he a regular on a villain team?
Yes, he is.
11 down. 9 to go.
Does he wear a metal suit?
Bah, shouldn't have asked that. We've already ruled out Crimson Dynamo and Iron Monger.
Does he wear a metal suit?
No, he doesn't.
12 down. 8 to go.
Okay, this should be my last question:
Does his Heroclix figure have a version that has a Villian's Team Ability?

Yes.
13 down. 7 to go.
Okay, that should help a lot. The Villian TA's are very small, so we should be able to easily find one that is male, capable of flight, yet has no powers, and has another version that does NOT have a TA.
Also keep in mind that he wears a costume, and does not wear a metal suit.

Is he primarily a Spider-Man foe?
Gosh, I'm stumped. I feel like we narrowed it down too much. I don't see anyone that fits what we have.
Is he ever a member of the Thunderbolts?
I'm thinking it might be Fixer/Techno. That's really the only guess I have available to me.

Vulture, Green Goblin. Both were Sinister Six, Gobby is a team member of Thunderbolts now. The Fixer. Maybe Hobgoblin.
Mandarin on any teams?
Battleplanner filters are awesome.
(I typed that while you were posting).
Is he primarily a Spider-Man foe?
Yes.
14 down. 6 to go.

No.

I was thinking Vulture, but I'll let IM go for it.

Is it the Vulture?
Is it the Vulture?
Yes, it is the Vulture.
You all got in 16 questions.
Curse you all. If I'm ever driven to villainy through disappointment and bitterness, it'll be on all of your heads!!!!!! :(

Just wait until you are 80 to do so!

Isn't that about how old the Vulture is?
I call shenanigans. I discounted the Vulture, because the Vulture actually has powers!

Vulture has powers? Since when?
Nice teamwork, btw.
And yes, Vulture was in his 80s.

I was thinking the life sucking ability was there, but it appears that's in the cartoon only. :ermm:
Indeed, nice teamwork. I think we probably had it nailed much sooner than we had it, just took a while for us to want to guess it.
<sigh> Rokkie Vulture. For 15 pts, everyone could have a jet pack.
How I miss your usefulness.

Even though I didn't get to play, it was fun to read. At the point where it was stated that the character in question could fly but had no other powers, my first guess was the Vulture. This means that I'm much more clever than ya'll.

Slightly. I thought the Wizard first, Vulture soon after. I just like to narrow it down to a reasonable point before guessing, esp. since we had a lot of questions left.
I'LL GET YA ALL NEXT TIME!!!!
{shakes fist at everyone}
I'LL BE BACK!!! AND I'LL GET YOU ALL YET!!! AND YOUR LITTLE DOGS, TOO!!!!

As a side effect of the suit, Vulture permanently has slightly enhanced strength and vitality, and I think at least in one issue had the ability to fly without the suit. The life draining was a machine he had gotten from the Chameleon, if I'm not mistaken.
