Open to interpretation, but no, not really.

Is he a character from a humor comic?
No, 3 to go.
He is sometimes funny, though.
I'm lost. I was working on the assumption that he was a DCU character--since he was published by DC--so all my questions were based on that. My theories have ranged from Jimmy Olson to Vandal Savage, but now that we've eliminated the DCU, I have no idea.
Did he appear as the narrator or host of a comic book?
Ignatz_Mouse
06/17/2009, 15:46
Did he appear as the narrator or host of a comic book?
Nope. Two to go.
Yeah, the DCU assumption really derailed this, that's why I was dropping hints. One more-- he was not published under the DC imprint itself.
Ignatz_Mouse
06/17/2009, 15:46
That ought to make a guess possible or lead to good questions.
If it's Vertigo or Wildstorm, I don't know those books well enough to guess. Besides, don't a lot of them (Sandman, for example) have a connection to the DCU? I dunno for sure.
:noid:

This one has no connection to the DCU. So it's not Sandman (which does). Just to clarify.

Is it Y: The Last Man?
The character's name is Yorick Brown and if you haven't, Kal, you should read the series. I know it isn't old timey but it is good!

That is weird. I just went into another office and while I was there had a quick chat with a guy who is into comics. He told me he was going to comic book store today, asked if I needed anything. I told him I just bought the planet Hulk GN so I was good for awhile. He then went on to recommend Y, the last man standing. So out of nowhere, a comic I've never heard of before today gets two strong recommendations. I think fate is tugging at my checkbook.
Does anyone know the difference between the Deluxe Volume 1 and the regular Volume 1?

Not sure on the difference but the book is good. They take the male adolescent fantasy of being the last man alive and show you that it might not be all that fun!

Do you have any final questions?
Where am I?
Ignatz_Mouse
06/17/2009, 20:18
"No."
Zero questions remain!
It was Cassidy, Jesse's sidekick from Preacher.
Questionable answers:
DC - yes (Vertigo)
Powers? - yes (He's a vampire)
Powers from magic? - no (depends on if you think of vampires as mystical or not, Preacher never weighs in on the subject)
I'm afraid I would never have gotten it. I'm not familar with the book at all beyond knowing it exists. :(
Ignatz_Mouse

Yeah, you weren't the right pserson to jump in. Cassidy is a pretty well-known character, with Preacher being one of the most successful Vertigo books and him being a major character-- but if you haven't read it, you haven't read it.
I love the book, but most fans get upset when I call it a superhero book-- but what else do you call a guy with powers who goes around doing good?
