Hi Guys!

Next month's tournament will be quite different. It will be on Saturday 4th of July, 3pm-6:30pm in the Ballarat Stationers dungeon at 518 Albert St, and the cost will be $4 each for prize support.

We're going to be doing a special scenario this month:

Heroclix Battleball!

Here are the rules-

- Build a 300pt team, with an additional reserve team of 100pts to make up your team's bench. A special object is placed in the center of the map to represent the ball.

Objective: The winner is the player who manages to take the ball into their opponents starting zone the most number of times in 20 turns. If the game is tied after 20 turns, then the game goes into Sudden Death, where the next person to score wins.

The ball: is treated as a regular object that any character can pick up. As soon as you pick it up, you must stop your movement. Character's holding the ball cannot move or be moved by any means. If a character holding the ball would be knocked back, then the ball is knocked away from them along the knockback path instead. If it would be knocked into another character, then that character automatically picks it up.

Passing: Characters can throw the ball to any friendly character within 6 squares that they have LOF to (or 8 squares for characters with Super Strength). If either the character passing the ball of the character they are throwing it to is adjacent to one or more enemy figures, then you must make a successfull ranged combat attack against those enemy figures that does no damage. If you fail to make that attack, the enemy figure intercepts the ball. You can also throw the ball into an empty part of the map in the same manner.

Tackling: Characters can attack each other as usual, but you can also tackle the character who has the ball by making a close combat attack that does no damage. If you succeed, then that character takes possession of the ball. If the character with the ball is KOed, then the ball lands in the square that the character was in.

The Bench: If one of your characters is KOed, click them as many times past KO as the damage taken (unless doing so would put them back on their starting click). They are then removed from the map and placed on the bench. You can immediately substitute in one or more of your other characters on your bench by placing them inside your starting area as long as by doing so you do not exceed 300 pts worth of figures on the map. Characters on the bench heal one click for every following turn that they stay on the bench. You can do this at any time during your turn.

Scoring: As soon as one of your characters is holding the ball inside your opponents starting zone, score one point. All figures on both teams then return to their starting zone, and the team that did not score begins with the ball in the possession of one of their characters.

If you have any questions let me know! I'm pretty excited to see how this one goes!
