View Full Version : Confused Newbie
I'm an avid Mechwarrior Player who has just decided to pick up HeroClix. I was wondering is Marvel and DC compatible or are they totally different games. Why aren't their campaigns or something like that for Hero Clix. There's about 10 Mechwarrior and MageKnight tournaments a weekend here and only like 2 Heroclix ones every other week. Is heroclix just not as popular as Mechwarrior or Mageknight or whats the deal. Anyway me ans my little sister hope to have fun playing Heroclix.
By the way which is better-Marvel or DC
My favorite hero ever is the one and only flash and my second is Collosus. Which sets are they from.
I know this is a lot of questions but thanks for your help
They are made to be compatable. There are some powers/abilities that are only in one or the other.
Legally, Wizkids has to keep them seperate (i.e. at tournaments).
You can play them together at home. Just be aware, many of the Infinity Challenge (Marvel) clixs are weak for their price when compare to the other sets.

And for your favs. Flash appears in two versions in the DC set and Colossus is rumored (pineapple) to be in the new Marvel set.
As far as which is better, Marvel has more variety at this point but they are both fun.....and addictive.

Mavel and DC are totally compatable. Popularity of the game will vary from one area to the next. In my area, we get so many people at the Heroclix Tourneys that the venue has to turn people away. The Mechwarrior Tourney rarely has more than four people competing. As to which is better, I prefer DC. The consensus on this board however is likely to favor Marvel though. Now to the question of the Flash and Colossus. Both Wally West and Jay Garrick have been released in DC Hypertime, the only set of DC clix currently available. Colossus is going to be released in March as part of Marvel's X-Plosion expansion.

They are separate games if it's a WK sponsored event. Unoffically, they are compatible.

There are Scenarios that you can play. Since I've never played MK or MW, I'm guessing the scenarios are similar to campaigns.

We can't get a MW tournament sanctioned, but we had 12 people show up for a HC tourney today, and that's after 6" of snow dumped down this morning.

That's the important thing... to have fun.

Marvel has the better stats, DC has the better super powers.

Flash is in the Hypertime expansion (the only DC expansion so far). Colossus is reportedly in the upcoming release, Xplosion.

No problem

it's been said, but collosus is on the booster packaging for x-plosion, so he's a lock.
Campaigns in MageKnight and MechWarrior are designed to directly influence the unfolding storyline of the game's universe. In MW a campaign will decide who captures a planet etc. Heroclix probably won't have campaigns since it's doubtful that DC and Marvel would want the game to have that type of effect since they have their own stables of writers.

Wow, a blast from the past.
Marvel has the better stats, DC has the better super powers.
Heh, I had forgotten all about that old controversy.
DC: Waaaaah, Batman only starts with a 9 attack!
Marvel: Well, he's already broken with perma-stealth, Willpower and Leap/Climb. Don't get me started on that dual target Incap!
DC: Why can't the rookie Superman break a wall?
Marvel: But he has Impervious! Avoiding all damage one-third of the time is too powerful.
