at a tourney yesterday a guy asked if i'd done testing for the new Shadowrun game. i think he assumed that because i was a judge that i knew everything. anyway, he went on about how he got his kids (both 10 years old) into testing the new game.

so....ShadowRun is coming. i heard that some new game is supposed to get some feshing out on the wizkids site today and would be surprized if this wasn't it.

any thoughts?

New in 2003!
WizKids will be announcing several new games this year. The first will be announced Monday, February 10, 2003, so make sure to keep your eyes glued to your monitor. It's just the tip of the iceberg for new-product announcements!

Well, that would coincide with this from their web page.

As far as today's anouncment goes, I'm guessing it's going to be Creepy Freaks, seeing as how they released the promo's for it last week in the UK.

yeah, shadowrun like a minigame like heroclix. heard it was gonna be like dungeons in the future. but i guess we won't be hearing more about it today. guess their big announcement was the same thing we'd all heard about in the past......oh well.

at least according to last week's newsletter we may be getting some orgainized play together for heroclix. maybe they'll start campains like in mech warrior and mage knight each month? maybe we'll get the send away LE firgures and monthly tournament only LE's as well? who knows, but i hope so.

by the way, the crimson skies, looks kinda lame, but i'll probably buy in to it so long as it's set boosters.

As nice as it sounds part of the fun of Shadowrun was min/maxing yourself a Troll that could deflect Assaut cannon rounds and i would miss that so much.

I just picked up the April issue of Toyfare, and there's a 4 page article on Shadowrun. Instead of miniatures, they have actual action figures (with up to 17 points of articulation) on oversized bases, with three dials. There's no scale, but they look to be larger than 3 inch figures. Each figure has accessories which will change your attack, defense, and movement ratings. Each figure will be sold seperately, and come with it's own rulebook.

The main hub website realms mentions shadowrun and gives a link but those folks pull the info off their pages now like it's some kind of mass secret.

Why can't everyone get on the same page for when they really should release the information and pics? :(

It's just silly. They did the same thing a little while back with other stuff claiming some copyright infringement and kept the link for all of half a day.

Why do they do this? It's a cheap pop at hyping PR if you ask the Rabbidgerbal and very unclassy

But in short yes the Rabbidgerbal has seen the name wizkids with the name Shadowrun.

No offence to wizkids games. The Rabbidgerbal enjoys both Mage Knight and Heroclicks alot, but the media hype has got to get on the same wavelength, moreover how far in advance do they need to hype stuff to the general public??? Are you really thinking 3 months (or way more) down the road?

again not trying to be rude here. the system just isn't right.
