View Full Version : Must object be used in ranged attack?
Example: Thor picks up a light object while doing a runing shot.
Must that object be used in his RANGED attack? The rulebook says objects that are being carried must be used in Close Combat attacks but then says objects MAY be used in ranged combat attacks.
Also can Thor run around the map making ranged attacks while still holding onto the object?
Thanks
A figure holding an object attempting a Ranged Combat action can choose whether or not that action is with or without the object.
So, Thor could run around the map making ranged attacks while still holding the object.

I'd give him the desk, that way he might dodge an attack along the way. If he doesn't need it, he can whack someone upside the head with it later.
However, while he is holding the object, he cannot taxi anyone untill he has used the object or dropped it by loosing superstrength as you cannot choose to put down an object.
Actually...
A figure with Flight and Super Strength can carry another friendly figure and an object at the same time.
The figure being carried cannot carry another figure or an object.
So, Thor could run around the map making Ranged attacks while stilll holding the object... AND... carry Vision in his arms.
Vision, though would not be able to carry an object while being held in Thor's arms....
Holding an object doesn't prevent him from carrying a passenger. A taxi can carry an object and a passenger but cannot carry a character who is carrying an object. There's a big difference for this.

If a flier with Super Strength has a ranged attack, isn't is true that he can still only throw the object a maximum of 4 squares (for heavy) or 6 squares (for light), even if the figure's range attack is higher than what the rules allow for thrown objects?
Please advise if there's evidence to prove otherwise.
This is true...
A figure with Super Strength and a Range of 10 can still only throw a light object 6 squares and a heavy object 4 squares.
